We tried La Mexicana Buena Vista recently. It was a different restaurant experience in the burbs. All food is made to order, you order right when you walk in at the grill area.
We had steak taco dinners with rice and beans. Steak tacos were good but very greasy. Rice and beans were ok. You definitely get the feeling that you're eating in someone's home vs. a restaurant.
We weren't given chips but there was a huge bowl of green salsa on the table. Honestly, I don't know if I'd try it if I did get chips since that bowl pretty much sits at the table all day with
We had to wait to pay our bill, the young girls working at the cash register area didn't have our check at first and seems a bit confused or maybe distracted with other things. All in all, it was ok. Definitely
This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. My husband and I order the chicken burritos with avocado added ($1 extra) and they are enormous.
We go here for take out because as others have stated, this isn't exactly the best place to come and sit down with your family.
I've ordered the steak tacos before and while they were good, they paled in comparison to the burritos. Order the meal and enjoy it with refried beans and rice.
If you go here, you won't be disappointed.
They also take orders over the phone, so if you want to eliminate the wait while your food is freshly cooked in front of you, then call ahead and it will be ready for you when you get there! :) This place has some seriously amazing food.
Stopped in here again after not being here for at least a year. Still the same thing. Really good food, really horrid conditions and very little English spoken. No idea how the health department does not come in here with flamethrowers. From what I understand from friends that have been in Mexico, this place is comparably clean. But for here in the USA, they are really pushing it. Despite that, I will still go.
