The London Pub & Grill

Good food. Good chef. Great remodel from previous sad ventures in this establishment. Reasonably priced, good quality food. $5 import draught pints (Guinness, Bass, Harp...others), which is the main reason I go to this place. The Guinness is served a little too cold to my liking, but it is drinkable temperature after sitting for 20 minutes.

I live in the SW burbs so for one, this place was really a hike but I came out this way for a friend's birthday.  She wanted to see the band that was playing there.

We came in for 8pm dinner reservations.  I'm glad we had reservations, not that the place was packed but we would have waited otherwise I'm sure.  Prices were reasonable and the food was good.  They had $3.25 bottles of Magners on special which was a plus, along with $5 mai tais - they were alright, not so much on the sweet side...

Our server, Martin (Alex) which was on our receipt was exceptional...he had at least 3-4 split checks at our big table and handled the craziness we brought very well so kudos to him...great service!!!

I've been to this place 3 times. Each time has been a different experience. Recently the restaurant has changed its name. My gf and I are certain this place has some voodoo curse because the last restaurant there closed quick and this place seems to be hanging on. My first time there was when the place was new. Food was terrible, the workers were trying hard to make the place work but it was knew, have to work the kinks out. Went back a few months later and we really enjoyed the place the second time. My appetizer was goddamn delicious and my entree was outstanding. Our waiter who was actually british was really good and my gf seemed to be in love with his, Very awkward. Anyway the second time was outstanding. The third time we went it wasn't such a great experience. While drinking my glass of water, the bottom of the glass fell off and the water went all over me. Da hell??? Yea, the bottom of the glass feel off! The waitress and manager came over and took care of the table right away. But the damage was done. My lap was soaked and the night was ruined. The only insult was there was not even a comp for my entree or drinks or anything. I'm not one to mooch but when some crazy stuff like the bottom of the glass falling off and spilling all over your customer happens, I'm thinking a comp is in order. The place is nice, they try to be upscale and most restaurants in this area are usually packed with older people. Typically cougars if thats your thing. Hit or miss but the food is good and the kids that park the cars work their butts off so tip them well!!
