OK. so, I took my Dad here the other night so he could try Mister A's for the first time. He always thought they were a sub shop.

We walk in and are greeted by the crabbiest lady ever!  I'm sure she is one of the owners and we couldn't have bought a smile!  Clearly, she didn't care about the customers.  I guess it is evident in the amount of customers that were in the restaurant...and we would be the only 2!!  Last time I was here I really liked the beef, but for some reason my beef was flavorless this time!  After this experience I will not be going back.  It's likely they won't be around for very long if they keep treating their customers like crap!

I take everything back that I said in my previous review.

    YIKES!

I should have taken a clue from walking in when the door was completely broken and the inside of the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the late 70's. Unfortunately, I continued on.

I walked up to the counter with a smile on my face looking to order some decent greasy spoon food to comfort my girlfriend and I after a long day..... What I got was a women around her mid 50's who just looked at me liked I killed her dog.

I placed my order and the whole time I couldn't be sure if she was actually listening too it because she was talking about her day with another employee behind the counter, so I actually said everything twice until I seen her type it in to the Flinstones era machine. When I was done ordering I seriously had no idea if she had my order and I attempted to say thank you but she completely ignored me, asked for the money and without saying thank you or another word, handed me my change and walked off to continue talking with the other co worker.

All of this would be water under the bridge if the food was anywhere close to good. Keep in mind, this is an Italian beef, fried food place so I wasn't expecting world class here, just some greasy goodness to satisfy the taste buds. Non existent here in any form.

I ordered two cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. Where should I start? The onion rings were lifeless and dead on arrival, there was no onion to be found in them and 90% of the very small order I received were devoid of ANY onion and were just breading.... Where did the onion go? Is a place like this making there onion rings out of regular store bought white onions? Really? Ugh. Gross, take a pass on those.

The burgers were the thing that bothered me the most, the buns I think they actually kept over from the 70s, they were flat, mushed, hard and stale and concealed a patty that was even more insulting. I can't quite put my finger on the taste but I had two bights and I couldn't stomach a third to work the funny taste out but I think it's old meat with old ingredients on a sketchy bun.

To there credit, the fries didn't make me wan't to puke but I really can't say much else about them either. Dry, very little salt and bland. To be honest, the best thing I can say about this place is that it closes early and therfor limits the damage it can do. YUCK!

If your in the area and hungry do yourself a favor and head to Tommy's right next door or even Taco Bell a few blocks away, in fact, if your that hungry, I can point you too a half dozen dumpsters that can give you better service and better food for alot cheaper. This place sucks.

Brought the daughters to get their first real Chicago italian beef combo and have to say I was big time disappointed by the lack of quality of the sausage.

Dried out, no flavor ... just not good.
