A few of my buddies and I stopped into this place the day it opened up. Even though we were the only people in and it was still under development, It was hard not to notice the drastic change of the once WC Murphys. Both of the owners are extremely nice guys and the bartenders are quite attentive. The draft beer is always clean, crisp and COLD!

Now, about the food. I've eaten hear on many occasions and was only disappointed once. Let me clear one thing up though, the wings here are absolutely amazing. I find myself thinking about them throughout my day sometimes (I'm a crazed wing freak, I know). The first time I ordered the steak, absolutely amazing. The second time...meh....totally pink in the middle, but shit happens. I haven't seen the young kid who couldn't cook my steak again, so hopefully they got rid of him.

So about why I had to deduct a star. They have two, fine red felt pool tables with a large amount of shooting room. A few of my friends and I are avid pool players, and we take it very seriously the more drinks we get in us. Unfortunately, the pool sticks here suck. They are cheap, bent and just flat out low quality. I find myself wanting to go to this place to shoot pool all night, but then I have to remind myself that not only are the sticks terrible, there is no hand chalk! I know I sound a little picky, but when you like to competitively play pool, these things are huge factors. If they decided to upgrade their billiard accessories, I'd find myself coming here a lot more often.

All in all, this place is great. I love bringing my girlfriend here to eat and there's no Delco assholes that congregate here.

I've never had the food here, so I'm not reviewing on that. Anyway, we went here one night after work to have some drinks and have fun. Unfortunately, the drinks were horrible and the fun was minimal. I was ordering drinks that the bartenders clearly didn't know how to make because my drinks jsut tasted like sour mix and coke. yuck. The bartenders were very nice but getting their attention was almost impossible. It took about 20 minutes to get my first drink and it wasn't even that busy. I probably won't go here again for drinks, but maybe I'll return to try the food.

I've been bad!  As a supporter of all things Havertown I've neglected to write a review of these folks.  They've been open about six months now.

I've been here a few times on various days of the week and different times.  My most recent visit was yesterday afternoon when I sat at the bar and chatted with the owner Matt who was also my chef for a late lunch.

If you are not from the area, this is a second floor bar/restaurant between the McDonald's and Starbucks.  Parking is a little strange but easy once you figure it out.  Allow me to help.   Pull into MickyD's.  As you go into their lot you'll see a nice sized lot to your right.  Park there and you are a one minute walk to 19's door.

So climb the wide stairway up to the second floor.  Keep in mind that you'll be going down again after a few drinks and most people prefer to do that on their feet as opposed to bouncing down on their butt!

These folks are essentially one large room.  The bar is good sized and comfortable.  The liquor selection is extensive and the beer choices are just fine.  I believe they have about eight (8) taps.  If you are a craft beer aficionado you won't find unusual selections here but most folks will be easily satisfied.  If pool is your game there are several tables here.

The menu is short but solid.  You can get anything from Chicken Wings, interesting Flat Breads or even a 9 oz. Sirloin Steak.  Yesterday I choose the California Chicken Sandwich.  We're talking grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, and provolone on an excellent roll. It cost about $10.   It was very good and came with excellent fresh-cut fries.  I really appreciated those fries.  I'm done with frozen fries poured out of a bag.  Matt has done the right thing and gone to the extra effort to make his own fries and I'm betting I'm not the only one who will like them.

As with many bar/restaurants the crowd here can change dramatically based on the day and time.  It can be crowded and loud and young with music blasting and at those times it's not for me.  At other times the crowd will be a mix of ages and the atmosphere quieter.  That's perfect for me.  Yesterday I had a 4 star experience.

This place has had several different name changes through out the years from Pockets, W.C. Murphy's and currently Nineteen 19. The only thing that hasn't changed is those steps leading up to the bar, but they did remove the second floor bar from what I have seen. There used to be pool tables that used to cover the whole floor with some an awesome version of Golden Tee in the corner, hence the name "Pockets ". The bar area is still in the same spot , not like previous (Pockets era ) when it was along the back wall closest to West Chester Pike.  Little knowledge bomb for you guys, minus the people  who are from the Havertown area that remembers the old Pockets.

Other than the annoying steps that could kill you if you had to many cocktails this place is pretty awesome. Great change of scenerie with ample amounts of TVs for you to watch any kind of sporting event.

This spot has a great selection of craft beers, great top shelf liquors for you to enjoy, I was more impressed with the HUGE frosty monster mugs they have. Every Monday they do a monster mug day, 4 dollars a fill of your favorite craft. YES PLEASE ! Besides the great crafted beers they also have a phenomenal liquor selection, the speed rack even looked like it had top shelf bottles ready to sling out.  Another must try is their "Monstrosities" its a sweet kick with a boost of octane. Try it, you'll like it.

Stefanie is an amazing bartender who is friendly, extremely patient, knows how to make a good drink. This is something that is a plus, a bartender ready to refill your thirst and remembers how you like it to be be made without asking you again. I also found out she is bartender at Barnaby's down the road, so experience and patience is something she knows and has.

The kitchen looks like its been revamped , the food tastes better, mind you I have had a few of their apps in the past which were sub par, nothing that stood out there. Now thumbs up on changing it up, I'll have to try some of their other selections , but for now the ones I enjoyed were:

    1) Firecracker Shrimp.. damn good tempura style with a chipolte glaze I think it was.
    2) Tequila lime chicken wings.. great flavor, nice sized wings, ask for it crispy, cooked a little longer 2 thumbs up
3)Pan seared Ahi tuna... G-Damn amazing, some kind of  pepper crust over top mixed with their wasabi type of dip.

In all this is a great place to go relax, enjoy the food, get your drink of choice and just do it up. Also if you are looking for a happy hour spot this is a must check, 1/2 priced apps between 5-7.

    Enjoy

We decided to try Nineteen 19 before going out the night before Thanksgiving. We were told to make reservations but were the only people there at 7:00. We ordered nachos and to be honest I could have made better at home. It was nachos with some cheese, hot sauce, little bit of chicken and jalapeno peppers...nothing exciting.  My husband and I both ordered chicken sandwiches and it was a huge chunk of chicken....I guess size wise it was good, but it I was hoping for more cutlet thin style.

Another friend got the tuna and said it was really good, so maybe it's just my husband and I that didn't like the chunk of chicken that was served. I'd say they could do better on the food if they'd like to attract more people on a regular basis.

They are going for a night club style setting with some seating around the dance floor, but I don't know what kind of crowd they get on a weekend. The bartender was filling in for the waitress that called out and she was very good for not handling this all of the time. The DJ played the music way too loud for the small crowd that wasn't dancing. I would not go back here.

Been to this place twice ourtside of their ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chamber of Commerce.   ..... both on a Saturday night for a beer and game of pool.    First night my husband and I walked in about 8:30 pm and we were the only two people in there minus about 8 employees.   It was very strange feeling, like we were odd for being there.   Unfortunately we had to leave in the middle of our first game of pool because I became ill feeling.    Last night we went back.   This time the place was packed.  We did get a pool table right away but again barely stayed for one game.   I realize as you become older (I am now 45) that young people look very young but some of the girls in this place were so young they were even developed yet.   It was filled with young kids shouting screaming and playing beer pong on two folding tables set up.   Perhaps some of them were actually 21 but I have got to tell you I have nieces and nephews that age, as weill as my own kids in high school and these were teenagers.
This beautifully refinished cool looking place  will be busted and closed down in no time unless they figure out what kind of establishment they are going to be.   We are very hesitant to ever go back.  Bummer cause we love playing pool and having a few beers.

This is my 2nd review for this place because for some reason Yelp removed my first. Since I have been back already I will review it again! Place was great. Loved the freshly prepared food. It was very tasty and the prices were really reasonable. I found the owners to be very engaged which I appreciate. I would recommend this to anyone and especially on Sundays as you can take the family out for the half price menu while catching the game at the same time.
