I dig it. Barcades are popping up in LA and Vegas, but this is more "at home" gaming type place. It's TINY. It's a strip of space, with cool decorations though I don't understand the huntress girl photos (is it a cosplay? Please hire me. I'll cosplay on the job).

I saw Tetris on Xbox, COD, and Guitar Hero. But good luck getting on the consoles when it's popping, around 9 it was impossible and it was a 1 hour wait to sing karaoke on the one big projector infront of everyone ($2 a song), so I hope you're not shy, because the karaoke is what everyone is grooving too (an you can't hear you guitar hero btw).

The reason i love this place is after hitting M, and coming back around 1am, it was nice. We closed the night with singing a song, there was ample seating, and the guys took their stabs at guitar hero.

The DRINKS THO. SO GOOD. The "It's-a-tea mario" WAS AWESOME. It almost tasted... healthy, but in a good way. They legit put canned green tea in there, I saw it. and it didn't taste like alcohol at all. My friends "Tactical Nuke" has a whole can of Blueberry Red Bull turned upside down in it, and she said it tasted like an AMF when it was mixed up. I also got a Cranberry-Redbull

I like that Nocturna offers something different than other bars/lounges. It may seem a little childish, but every now and then, all I want to do is play Just Dance. At Nocturna, I can play Just Dance with a bunch of friends and make new friends at the same time! I will admit, I have a wii at home and own a lot of these games, so it may seem like a waste for me to PAY for games that I have at home. However, you can't make new friends at your house. Nocturna is like a laid back, smaller, more homey version of Dave and Busters.

I like that they offer lilikoi soju on the menu. I actually have only had lilikoi soju. I'm one of those people who stick to the same thing once I find something I like.

I like that the lounge is clean and open. I know you've experienced that sketchy lounge where you wonder what kinds of things were left behind on the chairs. Nocturna is not one of those places.

Once of the nights I went, everyone who sang sounded like freaking popstars. They were freaking ah-mazing singers!! All 4 of them, passing around the mic and singing duos! It was great!

Why not 5 stars? Nocturna is kinda out of the way. I wish it was in Waikiki or near other things....If you get bored, the only place you can really go is M nightclub. Meep.

Only karaoke spot I go to on the island.
    Clean. Classy.
None of that "here's your room now go have fun in this dirty room filled with dirty tables not wiped." Korean type bars...
Nocturnal is most definitely Oahus hottest karaoke spot.
    Professional customer care.

    Love love love!!!

Super awesome concept! I can't even find a place like this in LA. You can either Karaoke or play video games. Private rooms are available but not sure on cost. Songs cost $2 seems a lil pricey but not too bad to be entertained. Oh and I think video games are free!!
Bar is fully stocks and the bartenders there are pretty awesome. Ask for Jaxon and he'll take good care of ya.

I have always loved singing ever since I was a little kid. I got in trouble once in school because I wouldn't stop singing "Beat It." It is that passion that has me singing in my car or in the shower. I blame puberty which deepened my voice and brought self-consciousness into my life. But that is only an excuse! A bit of liquid courage changes anyone from being quiet to a superstar! That was me, the first time I went to Nocturna Lounge. I was the drunk superstar. I was the one who started off quiet and then wanted to sing every song. I was afraid to dance because I thought I danced horribly. Alcohol was my crutch for performing. To avoid becoming an alcoholic and getting a beer belly, I changed!

I must say that Nocturna Lounge is amazing! They have the newest songs, friendliest employees, good drinks, and video games! They don't have food though, but I've had a pizza delivered without a problem. Rather than BYOB, it's BYOF (Bring your own food!). They do have a dress code and you have to dress slightly classy, which means long pants and shoes for guys. Happy hour is wonderful too because not many people are usually there, karaoke is free, and many drinks are discounted!

I can be found nowadays at Nocturna Lounge randomly during the week, mostly on Sundays. I usually go at least once a month. I have to give much thanks to Britni K! She helped me to open up and I feel like I have graduated into something much better. Alcohol is no longer a crutch, but just something done socially!

When I first heard of this place, it sounded very interesting.  A karaoke bar with video games?!?  What a great idea!!!  It's a very clean, classy bar.  Actually, it's more of a lounge than a bar (hence the name).  Sundays thru Thursdays are pretty mellow.  Fridays and Saturdays are normally full of excitement and entertainment.

Happy hour is every day from open to 9pm. On happy hour -  $4 soju cocktail by glass (my favorites: strawberry yogurt, wildberry, passion fruit & lychee), $15 soju carafe, $5 wine by glass, $4 wells, $3 domestic & $4 import beers.

Karaoke selection is HUGE!  Also FREE during happy hour!  If you don't see a song you want, try asking the DJ.  If you're cool enough, he will check to see if it is available to download.

If you are a shy singer or just want someplace to chill, private rooms are also available (hourly).  They do a birthday special for an hour free with the purchase of 1 hour.  All rooms come equipped with a TJ karaoke system (not as many songs as lounge but still pretty up to date) and a Xbox 360 with kinect (Dance Central!!!).  Room 3 & 4 also has Rock Band!

I've met some of the best people I know, including my boyfriend :D and had the best and craziest nights here.  Cheers to many more to come!

    A game center for adults.

I am a HUGE fan of Nocturna Lounge and have been since my first game of Street Fighter there.

First off, you can dress casually (I'm talkin' t-shirt and jeans) and still be in a modern, clean lounge. They have various games for X-Box, Wii, etc., a huge karaoke screen in the middle-ish end of the lounge, and three karaoke/game rooms you can reserve. There's also a large smoking area outside.

There's just something about being able to play Mario Kart while sipping on a drink that is so much more enjoyable than being at a extremely dark, sweaty nightclub.

No cover, lots of drinks, free games, fun crowd...Hell yes.

I must say, not what I was expecting. Granted, from the reviews posted, I had a better understanding what the place was all about. Despite that, I was still pleasantly surprised.

I am by no means a part of the "in" crowd and don't try to be. I don't go clubbing nor drinking all that much, if at all. However, this place appeals to the inner nerd/kid in me and throws a bit of "adult" twist with the drinks.

My one and only experience involves renting a room out with friends and sang karaoke for roughly 2.5 hours. The rooms can have games played in them (there was a Kinect above the big flat screen). Service was just fine, with the waitress coming in just enough but not too much to refill/take orders.

They have a decent selection of English, Korean, and Japanese music. No where near the amount of places like Toma or GS (in regards to the Asian list-serv), but just enough to have a good time.

I'll definitely need to make a round back to have some fun with the free gaming outside.

Just a quick notice as I wanted to know some things prior to going for my first time:

    -There is no cover charge
    -Games are free to play
-Karaoke is free up until 9pm (on most days if I remember)
    -RSVP-rooms begin from 11PM
-there are quite a few deals regarding rooms (call to inquire if there isn't a picture up already)
-games are games like xbox (street fighter, rock band) and Wii

The place looks nice and classy...not as crowded, which is good... definitely go during happy hour for free karaoke and half off drinks...there's also a lot of xbox games to choose from...however, the two TVs with the Kinect shouldn't be facing each other since it can cause a bit of a problem...

If you're looking for a good time, look no further: Honolulu's hottest nightclub is Nocturna.  Nine-year-old Tokyo pimp Ichiaku Guru is back with an all-new hot spot that answers the question What?!?  This place has everything: karaoke, guitar hero, carafes of soju, couches, and employee entertainers... that thing where people you work with have too much to drink and get in a karaoke battle with people good enough to be professionals.  I'll have what she's having!

    Karaoke + video games + happy hour = I'm a fan!!

Nocturna is right across from Ruth's Chris with a really nice interior with modern decor. There are video games everywhere with huge TV screens all around the walls. The rooms are a bit pricey but you get a free hour for your birthday. If you'd rather not pay for the room, you can always hang outside and play videgames and enjoy some delicious soju. Our waitresses were extremely nice and always checked up on us.

You can bring your own food and there's tons of seating! We came during happy hour for my friend's birthday and ordered a load of soju and then played Rockband.

Parking isn't an issue. Tons of parking in the parking lot, but not sure how the whole validation part works. At night you don't need to validate but not sure how it is during the day.

I usually just come on special occasions. But now that I know there's a happy hour, I'll probably come more often.

Came back here April 7th and it was a great time.  Not only are the workers nice, it was free parking and the people there were super cool.

I got to get a lot better at video games with some help from some people there and the drinks were good!!!!!

Came here on a Friday and man this place was rocking! My bartender Stefanie (not sure how to spell her name) was working really hard and made me perfect drinks. Love the crowd and vibe.

Hawaii's only gaming bar...a gamers dream bar! I've waiting for a place that I can combine two of my favorite things in the world.

The games were fun and the people were really friendly. If you want to have a party come on a busy night and you are bound to have a good time. If you just want an intimate night out with friends, come on a off night so you can have more opportunities to play more games.

    Love this place.

p.s. if you are only looking for more fighting games, this is probably not the best place to come.

My boyfriend and I spent a fair amount of time at Nocturna the summer that they first opened, thanks to a classmate of mine being a bartender there and tipping me off to the concept.

Wide range of video games + booze + plenty of seating + bring-your-own-food + karaoke= pretty much perfect for those who are looking for a change of pace, or for those who just enjoy a more laid-back night out. I am a member of the latter group. When I was 18, sure- sweaty, over-crowded Waikiki clubs were novel and exciting, but I have been there and done that. I'd greatly prefer to have the option of seating, high-quality drink options, and some entertainment beyond the usual "Drunk Bowling" (will he fall over? How many people do you think he'll take with him when he inevitably does, given how packed this place is?).

The atmosphere is dark and trendy, but I saw many guys dressed in t-shirts and sneakers, and the female attire seemed to be mixed between shorts-and-cute-tops, casual dresses, and full-on club attire.

We came here tonight on a date night and were, once again, totally happy. The soju cocktails are absolutely fantastic (just go ahead and get the carafe, you'll end up there anyways), and their signature cocktails are very, very tasty. We played Call of Duty (Me: "I'm your lucky charm!" Him: "I think you're just catching all the fire..." WELL YOU'RE WELCOME), we played Injustice (fighting games are my one real strength, so yes, there was a lot of gloating to compensate for my pathetic CoD performance), and we enjoyed the free entertainment that groups doing karaoke will naturally provide.

Nocturna Lounge, while a bit out of the way, given that it is in Restaurant Row, is absolutely worth the visit.

This is the best bar I have ever been in, and going here was the best night of my entire vacation. I was seriously contemplating moving to Hawaii just so I could go here as much as I wanted. The songs were all high quality and I got to sing as much as I wanted. The I asked the dj to give me a couple in a row and the rest spaced out so I could take a breather and they had no problem with it at all. The place was full but not crowded, and the atmosphere was perfect. Even if you don't game, the games attract the perfect young and nerdy fun loving karaoke crowd. Seriously, if I ever open a bar of my own this is the template I'm going to model. Its genius.

But here's the kicker. I managed to lose my keys and didn't notice til I got home 45 minutes later. I called, said I couldn't wait til the next night to come back for them and wouldn't make it back that night before the staff all went home. The guy stashed my keys in a hidden but easy to find spot and my night (and flight home) was saved.

The door guy was a total dick though. Not sure what that was about but its not enough to dock a star. Everyone else on staff was awesome.

Drinking + Video Games + Karaoke = Best Night Out Ever!!

One of my girlfriends and I decided to host our joint birthday party here last night and wow what a perfect way to celebrate! We arrived early enough to catch happy hour for an hour or so and mingle with the crowd before heading to the private room we reserved. 3 hours of Dance Central and belting out everything from 80s rock to 90s boy bands to Disney classics - how can you not have the time of your life?

And if that's not enough for you, you can bring in your own food. We kept it simple with a birthday cake and some snacks, but we saw another group with what looked like a full-on catered dinner being delivered into their room. Definitely something we will consider for next year.

For me, the only drawback was no whiskey drinks on the happy hour menu. What's up with that?

A few Yelpers came here for an after party at the end of the Friendship Gala. It was my first time and needless to say it was the first of many.

What I really liked was that we went at an earlier hour, about 9 pm and it was still relatively empty (my ideal when singing karaoke) and started to fill up between 10-11 pm.

If you are a karaoke lover this place is for you. Their dog book is so big that I had to pick it up with two hands! So much selection!

I can't wait to go back!

Moving here from spending my early 20's in LA, I was disappointed with the variety of nightlife here in Hawaii.  I don't blame Hawaii now.  I just realized that my tastes have changed.

Long gone are the days of acting like a crazy fool while committing acts that lead to questionable Facebook photos.  We just wanted to find a place where we could go out and have a good time with complete strangers without performing the "mating dance."

I don't remember how I exactly came across Nocturna, but I knew I immediately wanted to check it out.  Unfortunately the hubs didn't see the point of going to a bar to do exactly what we would've done when we are home.  Well now that he is away, and I have been there a few times, he is DEFINITELY eating his words.

+1 Star = NO COVER!  This shouldn't be an issue, but for some reason Hawaii feels like they aren't getting enough money off drinks and need to charge everyone $10 for entry.  I believe this is acceptable for dance clubs, but not all bars.

+1 star = FREE GAMES!  Sure some of us might have one or two of these party games sitting at home, but to have ALL of them for free? you just can't beat that.  If you want to lay claim to a spot though, you need to get there pretty early.  It gets crowded and unless you speak up, good luck trying to get a turn.  there isn't a place to put your token down on the game.

+1 star = happy hour!  Their drinks prices are already pretty cheap in my opinion, but during happy hour, they are downright dangerous.  Additionally, their karaoke is free at this time too!  I like to come here for happy hour to get in my karaoke without waiting 2 hours for my song to come up while staking claim to my game of choice.

+1 star = ambience This place is really clean and well decorated.  You can tell the owner really cares about the place and knows that appearances are everything.  This isn't Dave & Busters which is just one big fun factory with alcohol.  This is clearly a bar.

+1 star = the people  I haven't met a single unfriendly face at this bar.  Everyone understands the rules and the intention of the bar, to play games and have a good time.  Occasionally you will meet people who are only here to attend a party and really struggle with all the different game interfaces (one party spent close to 30 drunken minutes trying to figure out how they can all line dance to dance central although we tried to explain the kinect can only register two people)

Neutral Star = The food situation.  I think allowing food to be brought in is great for the parties in the room, this can be a hassle for the few people out in the main room who don't really have a place to stash anything or the foresight to bring anything.  I understand they probably don't have a room for a kitchen and I understand people usually pick up Ruth's Chris, but it would be nice to have a little more affordable food option for those who want to party it up all night.

Delta = The servers. I don't have a problem with the servers.  They are really nice women.  I just don't think there are enough of them.  I think I have only seen 2 bartenders at a time with 3 servers whose job is to deliver drinks, serve the people in the room, clean up the room, and either switch out the games or troubleshoot the games not working.  It's just a lot to do for these women and can lead to a very long wait.  We waited over 30 minutes to get the game changed out.

I wish there were more spots like this.  I'm sure the cost of maintaining a place like this (can't imagine the cost of his network server!)  is exhorbitant but it seems like this place is super super popular.  I know I'll be back, and again, and again :)

    I am a Nocturna's girl, most def. :D

Nocturna Lounge definitely has a posh feel when you walk in. They have private rooms (different sizes, smallest can accommodate 12, largest 25 comfortably- I've booked the biggest room on multiple occasions) and an open area to sing karaoke, which is $2 a song, but they have the most updated list out there! Very clean, and with a great view in the rooms.

Too shy to sing? That's okay, you have 2 more options- drink yourself silly with their amazingly varied drink menu (which includes carafes of korean soju mixed with different flavors) or hey, play some video games! They have arcade games in the main lobby area along with Dance Central! Suhweet! And you can also request Rock Band to be hooked up in your private room, so you can jam on the drums or guitar instead of bestowing upon your peers that sought after privilege of hearing the majestic vibrations of your vocal chords. ;)

I've introduced many a people to Nocturna's which has lead them to keep coming back for more (You're welcome, peeps, love ya!). A very important note- they have happy hour specials opening to 9pm, EVERY DAY. That's discounted drinks and *gasp* FREE SONGS! Whaaaaaat?! And ladies night is Wednesday so we lovely little vixens can get our singing on for free that night too. Laaahhhhv it! They have a lot of other fun promotions too (birthday, date night, etc) so be sure to check it out!

Service was great.  Servers were very nice.  I really liked the video games and karaoke combo of entertainment in a bar setting.  Very unique business idea and more likely to see this kind of business in L.A. rather here.  Great happy hour selection and prices.  This is a very classy place, nice vibe here. You can rent a private room for karaoke to spare the others of listening to you sing in key or off key.  Fun place, must check it out.

    The ADULT FUN FACTORY

I seriously think this place was made perfectly for the age group it attracts.  When you are too old for Chuck-e-Cheese and factory, but too young for just an empty bar, Nocturna is the right place to go.  The atmosphere is young, hip, edgy, modern and classy.  There is the main room and smaller private rooms that are great for personal parties.

In the main room, there is a huge bar for you to get drinks at.  They have a full bar and could make pretty much anything, none of that "sorry we don't have a particular hard."  They also have wine for those classier alcoholics.  There are also games booths set up throughout the main room with a dj playing some good music.  You could also sing karaoke in the main room if you want.  They also have video games for days here and they seem to be pretty up to date and they have several different game consoles for you to choose from.  I just wish the main area was a bit bigger because on a busy night, it is packed.

If you want more personal time, you could pay extra for a private room.  The rooms range in sizes and they are very spacious and modernly designed.  There dark seating and good sound systems in the rooms makes it a great karaoke room or game room.  You could also bring in your own food here to eat and just party all night.  The waitresses are good on keeping your hands full with drinks.  The come to each room and walk the room asking every person for a drink.  I like that.  They have very good service.  If you didn't bring food, they give out free popcorn and pretzel mixes.  It is pretty good when you are tipsy.  They also have more folding tables if need them there.

Also, you will always have parking.  There is a huge parking structure and the parking is FREE after you validate your ticket.  Make sure you do so.

Karaoke, Alcohol, Games, Snacks and Free Parking? Doesn't that sound like a great time?

Karaoke, games & draaaanks all in one place! We went for a friend's birthday and loved the private room. The waitress was great with such a large group of us. Aside from amazing drinks (maybe slightly pricey) they've got a great selection of songs, even recent ones.

If you're not crazy about karaoke, then stay for the video games and sojuuuu! My favorite was the peach and lychee ($25 for a large carafe). The environment is super chill, but also exciting with so much to do. And BONUS, free parking + no cover! We'll definitely be back again!

I have been here quite a few times but fail to check in because I'm mainly so distracted by the oh so yummy soju drinks and hilarious karaoke singers.

Can be a little pricy for private rooms so is go with a large group and split it. Expect to spend 25$ on a large soju drink because its so worth it. My faves are the melon strawberry and lychee flavors.

GREEN LIGHT GO !! : The man who owns this bar is genius.  How do entertain people at a bar? How about some karaoke? How about some video games? Like to play Dance Central or Street Fighter? Just ask them! They probably have it. There's always good bar service and the bartenders are outgoing and friendly! Sometimes bartenders can be kinda snobby, but not at this place! I also like that fact that this bar has private rooms so if you want to throw a birthday party, sing a few tunes in private and order a pizza while you are at it then YOU CAN! The atmosphere is chill but not a bar that is so quiet it will put you to sleep.  Its a great hangout spot.  All you have to do is bring good company !!  Also, final PLUS PLUS is there is free and PLENTY of parking.  What more could you ask for? oh and one more thing-- no cover ! yipee!

I visit this place quite frequently. I mainly go there to drink their strawberry yogurt soju... it is so delicious. of course the video games is also one of the main attractions. I like playing street fighter & singing drunk karaoke!

if you go there on the weekends (fri-sat), the bouncer will quite literally stare at your ID for like an entire minute. once, he even made me sign my name on a piece of paper to see if it matched the one on my ID! LOL. well, I guess that's understandable since my ID is super old :P

Catching up on the ol' Yelp, I've been to Nocturna Lounge too many times and I fail to 'check-in' every time.

Regardless, this place is awesome. Go out to the main lobby and bust some movies on Dance Central 2 with me, I'll teach you how to jerk, haha, pound some Soju shots and then belt out a good Journey ballad.

This seems to be THE destination for laidback peeps' birthdays, so when I go I ALWAYS have a great time.

The waitresses are really nice and courteous. This place is the only reason why I would go to Restaurant Row.

Troll Groupon because sometimes they put up Nocturna deals!!!

I'm not much of a gamer and definitely not a singer but that doesn't matter this place has a chill vibe and an inviting atmosphere.

It all begins with the owners who are genuine, good people. Upon arriving I was greeted by the one of the owner's Gavin, who goes out of his way to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. His staff follows suit and is extremely hospitable and attentive, this is especially true for Candace who besides being adorable is a gracious hostess and an awesome bartender. This culture bleeds over to the clientele who are friendly and out to have a good time.

The drinks are unique, top-shelf concoctions and surprisingly decently priced. It is encouraged to bring outside food and adds to the relaxed ambiance.

I travel quite a bit and have visited many bars, lounges, clubs and by far this place is one of my favorites. It truly offers something for everyone.

Thanks again to Gavin and all has staff and customers for showing me a great time!

It's about time someone opened an adult playground in Hawaii (no boys and girls, not like that)! Video games and karaoke while slightly (or highly) intoxicated? Sounds like a good night to me!

There were actually a lot of good things about Nocturna, other than the video games and all.  The bathroom is so nice, not some small little peehole dump.  I always appreciate nice bathrooms.  There's self-serve water pitchers, do 'em yourself, no wait! And there's no minimum for credit cards! At least I don't think there was.  I hate places that make you keep your tab open unless you hit so-and-so amount.  Got two (super strong!) long islands and I was able to close out my $16 tab.  Thanks!

    Quick notes:
Men require long pants and shoes
Not too sure if there's cover but when we went on Saturday night, there was none
Drinks about $8 but they have happy hour specials
    Bring yo game face!

This is located in Restaurant Row, and there's a lot of parking.  It depends on what time you go, but sometimes you have to pay.  Most times I've been here, it was free.  Dress is causal, but guys have to wear shoes and long pants/jeans.

Went here for the 1 year anniversary.  My phone didn't really work well inside, so I didn't get to check in.  The $20 entrance fee, which included $3 drink specials all night and food from Tanioka's.

For the event, all the rooms were open.  Usually you have to rent a room for parties to play games and/or karaoke.  It was nice, but there were people wanting to do different stuff, and changed it from games to karaoke without asking.  I even said we wanted to do a song before and after, but the customers who actually knew how to work the machines (guess they were regulars) didn't seem to care.  It was the larger room, so hard to please everyone I guess.  Either way, I prefer Nocturna events if my group can monopolize the room rather than getting my own room, because rooms are actually on the expensive side.

Sometimes  I really like this lounge, other times I don't really enjoy myself.  I feel like I could be sitting around playing video games or karaoke at home.  Feels like a waste of money sometimes - other times, it's a great place to get out of your house and hang out with friends.

I'm amending my previous review because they had handled my situation very professionally and wasted no time trying to figure out what was going on. So I'd like to re-write my review.

First of all, I recommended this place to my boyfriend's brother because his 21st is coming up and I'm sure he'll have fun in the private rooms!

I only had one drink so I can't say much about the drinks but the girl who was serving us was very kind and helpful when we asked about nearby food places.

The only biggest problem and I probably speak for everyone here...

IS THAT THERE IS NO FOOD!!!!

That was the reason why I gave only 4 stars and another reason why I left early (I headed over there right after work for a party). If they had at least pupus or some small snacks it would make this place so much better.

Another down was the party next to our room was waaaay loud so we had to compete for volume for Rock Band.

Other than that, it was very stylish and I'd probably go back but use cash instead!!

    Last Friday night.. TGIF...

Came for a party in the private room and it was awesome... We had the room from 8-11 and it really didn't start filling up until 10/10:30pm.  The room we had could fit 12-15 comfortably.  They also had a larger room plus a couple of smaller rooms.

I love that you can sing in one room and play dance central outside.  The private room also had rock band but we didn't really know how to use the system that well.  It's neat that they offer something for everyone even those who can't sing.

The staff is pretty friendly and helpful.  The drinks are good.

It's great for a party or to come and just meet some new people.  Sorry kiddies must be 21+

Must try: Happy hour drinks peach soju

I've been to Nocturna a few times. It's not really my thing, but it's an okay option for a game night outing with friends.

    PROS:
+ Nice to have the option of choosing between karaoke/Xbox/Wii
    + Cocktail servers are friendly
    + Laid back atmosphere
+ Plenty of covered parking available since it's in Restaurant Row...and it's free if you exit after 10 pm!

    CONS:
    - They don't serve food (big negative for me, I gotta eat if I'm drinking!)
    - As the night goes on, cocktail service can be quite slow
    - Karaoke song selection is limited, and quality of several songs we selected was sketchy (bootleg versions?)
    - Karaoke remote is a little hard to operate; most of the keys were in Korean

I guess if you don't have your own gaming systems at home (or don't have the space to have a group of friends over), you should give Nocturna a try....just remember to eat beforehand or plan on bringing your food there!

Are you bored of your regular dive bar, typical karaoke bar, or the night club scene? Seriously, if you need a change of pace from your regular spots Nocturna is a nice way to cleanse your palate. No other place in Hawaii can offer what it has.

There is happiness for guys and dolls here.  For guys it's a fantasyland of liquor, gaming, and cute waitresses. For the dolls- karaoke, flavored shoju, and a clean place to drink- yipppee!

I personally love that the karaoke is up to date to the minute.  The workers are nice especially the brothers that run the show!

I don't make it down to Restaurant Row often, but since I discovered this place, I'll be going there more often.

The thing that I like most about this place is the layout. They have sort of gaming "stations" throughout the bar with seating next to them and karaoke in the middle. If you are going in a group, you can kind of sit around one gaming area and take over, which is nice, but its not so private that if you want to try out another game you can't because of another group.

They also have private rooms for rent to play Guitar Hero and other games.

Drinks are strong, good and a little spendy.
    Video games are free.

Some things I'd like to mention but may not be necessary to mention:
The waitresses outfits are a little scandolous...not sure if that's necessary to mention but it surprised me a little so I thought I'd put it in. Also, they have a dress code - no shorts for guys.

I didn't really get Nocturna at first.  My friends and I must be so used to fobby karaoke places because our first time at Nocturna was like culture shock.  Where are are all the fobs?  Oh wow, everyone here speaks English fluently, even the employees!  The norebang remote is in English!  Where's the chum churum soju?  No smoking in the rooms.  No fob snacks.  No dice game, but there's Xbox Kinnect and Rock Band in the room!  Yay, we can play video games for shots!

My bf loves Nocturna so my friends and I would tag along with him every now and then.  After a while, Nocturna really started to grow on me, and now I love it too!  For one, this place is CLEAN.  None of that gross yucky feeling of sticky couches and sticky tables like Krazy's.  Nocturna manages to be chic and comfortable at the same time, which is great.  The song selection at Nocturna is probably the best in town!  They always have lots of new releases, and we can use the NoraeBook app to look up songs.  Nocturna doesn't serve food, but they have no problem with us bringing in our own snacks and munchies.  It's located in Restaurant Row so there's lots of parking, and the servers and bartenders are friendly.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my fob norebang spots, but Nocturna is now my go-to place for non-fob karaoke.

A nice, fun, loungy alternative to the "regular" watering hole hot spots. Nocturna Lounge is like a Fun Factory or Chuck E. Cheese for adults sans the fuzzy characters. This gamer's lounge is filled with TVs and gaming consoles, so you and your friends can throw back a few and play your little hearts out. There's also karaoke and both gaming or karaoke rooms you can rent out.

The concept is great and the atmosphere is a sure winner; the only major downer is the service. The bartenders don't know how to make standard drinks and the waitresses make their rounds roughly once every hour. I've had one too many tragic and disheartening experiences here to be a devout fan...
And as a bartender, I'm not saying that I know each and every drink recipe.. (That would be quite impossible.) But if a customer tells me how they like their drink or what the recipe is, I make it. Especially if I'm going to charge them full price.

Anyway, Nocturna Lounge is worth checking out. Like I mentioned earlier, it's a good alternative to just drinking at a bar. I plan to return, even though I'm not much of a "public" gamer. (I'm more of a private, at home, type gamer... And a drinker.)

Oh, Nocturna.... You have all the hip cool things that a drunk adult would love to have in their home. You have the Karaoke (free before 8). You have the XBOX kinect, You have the Wii. You have the Playstation. You have the alcohol. Unfortunately, you don't have a Happy Hour for alcohol and you don't have a kitchen to feed your drunk patrons. You can purchase food from Ruth's Chris across the way, but the prices aren't reasonable. I've been here several times and was never really thrilled by anything. But my past visit here, will definitely be my last.

So this place has a dress code! And if you arrive with a large group of people and they are NOT busy, they will still turn you down at the door. Although, we've been here before without any problems getting in without dress code.  After a whole fiasco a bunch of friends had with the bouncer. We decided to return our drinks (which we did not drink yet) but were turned down on getting a refund.... Lame. They won't let 1 friend in that is not in dress code when we are a party of 10, and you won't refund my drink (probably because you only have a handful of people in there and just turned away a party of 10).

Shortly after leaving, a friend had tweeted "The worst thing a business could ever do, is turn away any customers. #deadly @NocturnaLounge". Nocturna with the best professionalism (in a sarcastic tone) had posted this response to the situation:  "lol it's really not absurd and actually very simple. 1. we have a dress code. 2. we don't tolerate doucheriffic behaviour" @nocturnalounge.

Wow! really? "doucheriffic" And to say that your bouncer is working on his people skills? I would think a bouncer should already have people skills since he is dealing with customers each day he is at work, checking identification. Just because you're BIG, doesn't mean you can push people around. This situation didn't have to end the way it did, but I guess this is the way this establishment is run.
