Nori gets a solid A in my book.  Chong, the head chef and owner, is very personable and has employed a quality staff.

The sushi always tastes fresh.  The cooked dishes are delicious.  The soup and salad are free with most dinner orders.  It isn't inexpensive food, but it is worth the price.

My personal favorites are the Playboy Roll (I order it without the sriracha, but I'm not big on spicy food), the Lobster Roll (like the Playboy Roll it isn't on the menu, but usually is on the specials board), and the Vegas Roll.

My only complaints would be that they don't have Blue-Fin Tuna and they don't incorporate asparagas into any of their rolls.

4.5 is what I'd give.  20 years ago the idea of sushi in rural Illinois?  Give me a break!  Super fresh fish, simple and clean.  That's what makes great sushi.  I had Omakase, and it was a wise choice.  Next to last was their 571 roll (I think that was what it was called).  Spicy, but not too spicy.  The only complaint I had of the whole thing was it was finished off with a blow torch.  It should have been a cooking blow torch.  The one that was used left and ever-so-slight taste.  Picky?  Yeh... considering the rest of the meal, it was the ONLY thing that I had any quibble with.  I finished off with my usual desert: ikura!

The staff are friendly and very personable...quite willing to engage in conversation.  I had a hard day giving training, and this was a perfect end to the day.

Wow.. WAY better than that other big sushi place in town. We went with a large group on a weeknight and were able to be seated immediately. There was only one server but she was pretty on top of things.

I got a steak bento box and a few sushi rolls on the side. The steak was flavored amazingly. Sushi rolls were fantastic considering the area... and the prices were good. The rice was not overly flavored or sweet, the fish was fresh, and the rolls didn't fall apart (like some others in the area).

If you want sushi in Edwarsville area, and don't feel like driving to St. Louis give this a try, you won't be disappointed.

I would give this place a 4.5 to be honest simply because the service is amazing! The food is also not bad on its own. I come here often enough (once or twice in a week, sometimes) and the service is always consistent; very friendly and very accommodating. I like the soup and salad to start off, but they also have other great things like their gyoza and seaweed salad. I like most of their sushi rolls and their new spicy mussels were tasty (tried them last week). Their bento boxes are good as well but I am not a fan of them in general. They do have great udon as well for the cold, soup-like days.

the luncheon specials are great. I have had the chicken bento box, and the steak tip bento box. they are pretty good. it has vegetables and white rice (fried rice if you'd like) and some really tasty chicken or steak. you also get a california roll with that. i usually get maki b which is philly roll, spicy tuna roll and california roll. if you get the bentos you get soup. if you get the maki specials you get soup and salad. the waitress is excellent!!! yes the place is small and yes it doesn't look full when my firends and I go. but i like the place and the food, the gyoza is good and you can get that fried or steamed. They don't nickel and dime you like Wasabi, where you have to pay for miso soup and salad with your meal.

I am pretty sure a guy took me here on a date once....it was funny because he said  "well I looked at your facebook and I discovered you liked sushi so...." little did he know I am a sushi maniac?!?!?! Haha. Anyhoo.

I was not too impressed with this place. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the bento box I ordered had things OTHER than sushi in it. The sushi was.....ick. Nothing at all was memorable about this place. Their sushi rice tasted so bland and nasty because they did not add sufficient vinegar to it. Believe it or not, kids, the vinegar is one of the most important parts of sushi rice. You probably wouldn't guess it unless you've made your own sushi rice at home but, rice wine vinegar, a little salt, and a little sugar, are all important components of sushi rice and I found Nori's to be lacking at best. I doubt I'd ever return here. Felt kinda bad for my date....little did he know.....hahaha.

Nori is one of my favorite restaurants in Edwardsville.  The service is super friendly, accommodating and their traditional Japanese uniforms add to the atmosphere.  They have fantastic sushi rolls, and appetizers that are to die for!

It may not look like much from the outside (and may not have as much hype as some of the other uppity restaurants), but it is well worth the visit!

They have good lunch specials, otherwise I feel like this place is overpriced! I would only come for lunch. The sushi is good, I mean it's not the best sushi I have ever had but it is still decent. At one point they were the only Japanese place in the area, so I guess they could afford to be pricey, but now there is Wasabi, so competition is there. Place is overall nice, small, cute waitresses in kimonos and they have sushi boats, which are always fun!
