I lived in Glenview and North Branch is just down the street from me. I noticed they have half price pizza on Mondays. I decided to try it. I called them to ask about the half price pizza and if it's still available (they might have changed, who knows...) and the gal said yes. And I called back again and asked if it's for dine only or carry out too, she told me it's for both, dine in and carry out. I decided to place an order for carry out and to be picked up at 8:00pm. I went to pick up the order and did not check the receipt and paid for the pizza. I went home and noticed I was chanrged full price for the pizza. I called them back 30 mins later and the gal (not sure if it's the same one who answered earlier) told me that it's only for dine in... This is the same owner that owns Mook Wok and that place is out of business. The food is ok but I know i WILL NEVER go there again since the service sucks!!! I wish I can give them a 0 star if that's an option.
Review Source:Used Yelp to find a delivery place near where I was working. Â Was hosting a lunch meeting and didn't have time to cook. Â I saw this place and decided to give it a shot. Â We ordered a large Greek Salad, Hummus, Regular Cheeseburger, Cheese Fries and and Boneless Chicken Wings. Â The delivery was prompt and I love when the food is packed neatly into nice take out containers. Â I have to say, this food was really great. Â The cheeseburger was on a soft and fresh pretzel roll, it was real cheese on the burger and the give you a tempura fried pickle slice, nice touch. Â My friend's salad looked beautiful. Â very fresh veggies, good amount of cheese and a nice slice of garlic toast. Â The cheese sauce for the fries was not that electric orange sauce from a can. Â It was a home made sauce made from a roux. Â The chicken tenders were nice chunks of chicken, white meat, juicy. Â Of course being delivered they were a little soggy, but that is not the fault of the restaurant at all. Â The hummus was so fresh and delicious and it came with a nice crudite and really delicious pita chips. Â I was very happy and everyone was pleased that a place in Glenview delivered to Des Plaines. Â I will be going to this restaurant to try some of the things in person and I will be ordering again, if given the chance.
Review Source:Pros:
-Very good food
-Reasonable prices (good value, not overpriced food)
-Kind service
-The manager visited our table and engaged in conversation
-When he learned it was our first time there, the manager offered to buy us dessert (but we were too full to accept).
-seated immediately
-didn't take long to receive our food once ordered
-Tasty, good sized portions
-able to alter menu selection without compromising style (for example, there are several types of burgers available. But since I'm allergic to beef, I switched it up for a turkey burger instead. Now, at many restaurants, if you want a turkey burger, it's a set order and anything extra comes on the side. Not here. If you want say the greek burger, you have a choice if you want the burger beef, turkey or homemade veggie. Â Very nice!
-Large flat screens: soccer on one, news on the other
-Choice of sitting in bar area or restaurant sitting area (booths).
-appears to be an active place (mention of a celebration on the chalk board).
-I'm not Mormon, but I'm told they have mormon bible study groups there often (since their temple is right down the street)...so Christian Bible studies are also welcome and encouraged.
-Good place to bring a group for lunch
-nice atmosphere
-just across the street from T.G.I.Friday's
-free wi-fi
-Good homemade shakes (tall glass)
-Lots of parking
Cons:
-It took a long time to get our check, even after we asked for it.
-I'm told it's difficult to turn left out of there (or left into there) during weekdays.
I believe we will definitely be going back there again. Â :)
I came here with two friends and the recommendation of one of them, who had been here many times before. I was pleasantly surprised by this place, and we will be sure to be back again.
We arrived around 6 on a Thursday and had no trouble getting a table. I ht ink they could tell we would be there a while to chat, so they gave us a booth in the corner of the restaurant.
Our waitress was very nice, never making us feel rushed to put in our food and drink orders. She checked on us often, but was not intrusive.
We started off with a pitcher of Coors Light for $7, I think. $6 or $7. We also ordered some of the chips and salsa while we waited for our meal. The chips and salsa was fancy! It came with 2 kinds of salsa - some kind of a salsa verde and a very fresh tasting pico. The chips were warm, like they were right out of the oven.
We decided to share a salad and some pizza. We ordered the Ceaser salad, with dressing on the side. It came out fairly quickly, and our waitress snagged us 3 slices of garlic bread - one for each of us - because she knew we were sharing.
As we had the salsa and the salad, we decided to go with the medium deep dish pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. I thought it was really good. They had a tray of spices, crushed red pepper, and parm on the table, and I added all to my pizza slice. Yep, I could only finish one slice of the 6 slice pizza. I ended up taking a piece home with me for lunch the next day.
My friend that had been here before listed out all of the great items she's tried, and I was impressed. She specifically mentioned the salmon sandwich, burgers, and mac and cheese.
Good food, friendly service, and great prices. All things totaled, for an appetizer, salad, pizza, and a couple glasses of beer - a little over $14 with tip. I think North Branch just joined our list of go-to restaurants with friends.
We went a few weeks ago on an early Tuesday night and it was crowded so we ate at the bar. The bar tender was a great server.
The wings were very good - not at all as spicy as they claim but tasty nonetheless.
The black and blue burger was moist with better flavor than Jolane's down the street and crispier fries.
The crispy (fried) fish tacos were very good and had a large single battered and fried fish filet per taco. The garnishes went well with the fish and complemented the flavor. The couscous and corn side was tiny but the refried black beans were delicious and served in a separate bowl with a couple of chips.
Homers ice cream for dessert can't be beat.
Beers were cold and not overly priced. We look forward to returning to try more wings on 50 cent/wing night on Thursdays.
I had seen good reviews, and finally got the opportunity to take my ladies to the North Branch for dinner. Â What a treat. Â I will be back. Â There were some items on the menu i want to try. Â Everything was made fresh. Â You could tell. Â The onion rings were hand dipped. Â Yummy.
2 of the ladies ordered burgers. Â They will probably split them next time as the burger portion is generous. Â Both were pleased with their selections. Â One got chicken ceaser sales. Â Another good portion and another happy camper. Â Last was my princess. Â She ordered the kids chicken fingers. Â She wasn't' as pleased. Â It's hard for a 7 year old to enjoy FRESH chicken fingers. Â It was great, but the pallet of the little one is too McDonaldized. Â They were fresh and fantastic in my eyes and yes...I did eat one.
I ordered the fish and chips. Â Another winner. Â Hand battered. Â Super. Â But next time I want to try the french dip.....
We kids had the warm cookie ala mode. Â Nice topper to the meal. Â
The atmosphere was really nice. Â Very warm restaurant. Â The reason for the lost star was in the service. Â Don't get me wrong, it was good, but could have been better. Â Get the adults water right away. Â Make sure all the proper condiments come with the dinner. Â (tarter sauce with fisn chips). Â I hate the 8-10 min wait for he busboys to start clearing the table. Â Â It is the little details that make the experience outstanding. Â North Branch was close. Â I will go back. Â I missed the key lime pie other yelpers' mentioned.
OK me, the Mrs. and the children came here on Saturday about 5pm. Only a few tables were occupied in the whole joint but we all know that most people love to eat at     national dinner time which is 7:00pm. Which explains why the place was almost packed by the time we left. Anyway on to the vittles.
My wife had the Reuben with fries:very good
daughter had the Louisiana buttermilk chicken fingers: These are FIRE BUSINESS!!! I am not a chicken finger type of guy but these were unbelievable.
Son had The American classic burger: did not taste it but since he inhaled it I assume it was pretty tasty
Myself, I was boring and got a thin-crust pepperoni pizza: good but not standout. What can I say, all of you guys know that as fellow Chicagoans we are very critical about pizza so I will not tell anyone that I had a absolutely mind-blowing slice from a burger place. Â
I would stick to what they do best here and that is burgers and sandwiches.
Oh also forgot to mention that the kids had chocolate and vanilla shakes and they came in large beer mug style glasses. Shakes were very good and not to sweet. They use Homer's Ice cream so that is a plus.
We will definitely be back.
If you are in the area give North Branch a try. I will not say that everyone will like it because we have a lot of great options for standard American fare in the Chicago Metro area but I do think it is decent solid food.
Call me a skeptic but I didn't believe all the good reviews written about North Branch. Â I figured it was a bunch of happy ol' retirees from the suburbs rating this place through rose colored glasses. Â I couldn't have been more wrong.
I came here a couple days ago for another birthday dinner (yes, another birthday dinner for me, i'm a lucky gal). Â To my surprise, in the middle of Glenview at 6:30pm, Â this place was actually poppin'! Â From the old retirees to couples in their 20s & 30s, to families with young children, there were people of all ages here. Â It was definitely a relaxed atmosphere with dim lightly (almost too dim as I couldn't see the menu clearly). Â It was just a tad too loud. Â That's my only complaint.
They had great specials the night I went. Â Their bottles of wine were half off. Â So you get a $25 bottle for $12.50. Â That's a great deal when they normally charge $6 a glass. Â I think they also had $6 margaritas. Â
Anyhow, onto the food!
I had the fish and chips. Â Their fish was battered, of course, but not grossly greasy. Â The fish was perfectly flaky on the inside. Â The fries, OH THE FRIES. Â I think I'll be content with ordering just the fries. Â They were so good. Â Everything else was good too. Â But the fries. Â THE FRIES. Â Everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals too. Â Two people in my party got the Parmesan crusted chicken. Â It was a very large order with two very large pieces of chicken but nothing was left over. Â They loved it! Â Someone else got the salmon filet and said that would good too.
The wait staff brought out a key lime pie on the house because it was my birthday and let me tell you, although I'm not a fan of birthday celebrations (for myself), I am a fan of birthday pie! Â Well the sweets didn't stop with the pie. Â We also ordered another dessert. Â It was a giant warm cookie ala mode. The cookie was supersweet, I could feel myself developing diabetes after the first bite. Â The vanilla ice cream helped tone down the sweetness (if that makes any sense). Â
Anyhow, I would totally go back to try their pizza. Â I want to see how their pizza measures up to the other local, more famous pizza joints like Lou Malnati's or even Giordano's.
I came here last week with an old friend for my birthday. We were promptly seated by a manager and immediately seen to by the waiter. We split a deep dish pizza and both of us found it to be fantastic. The caramelized crust is a nice touch.
The manager Brian was on site to make sure we were enjoying our evening and when we told him it was my birthday he brought out a piece of four-layer double chocolate cake, which was to die for.
Can't wait to return!
Good Food, Great Atmosphere, and a nice place to have a very casual dinner with friends or just to hang out and watch the games. The portions are very big and you could save half of it for lunch the next day. I was looking at other folks plates and it looks like the next time I'll be ordering a pizza. Â Anyways, Great service. 4 stars
Review Source:Please don't come here if you have a large group. Â We had a reservation so they should have been prepared... I guess not.
Lunch took 2 and a half hours. I am not kidding you. Â It took over an hour to get a refill. Â Half the food came out and 20-30 minutes the other half came out.
No apologies or anything. AND they had the audacity to charge 20% gratuity.
We will not be coming back.
Found this place via Yelp...The burgers are the BOMB!!! I had the "Hilly Billy", which has 1/2 lb burger plus BBQ pulled pork, crispy onion rings and lettuce and tomato...All on a Pretzel bun... Fantastic!!
This is not the place to come for diet food. They have Pizza (We did not have time to try), burgers and sandwiches. Prices are on the high side...expect to pay $20/per person avg. Bring an appetite - you will need it!!
Servers were fast, friendly and efficient.
They also deliver...
As a vegetarian in the suburbs, I am always looking for a great veggie burger and they seem to lack at many of the local restaurants. I looked up veggie burgers on google and this place came up. I looked at their menu and saw that they have homemade veggies and that is normally what I try to look for when I eat out. I don't like eating Morningstar burgers when I could easily buy them from the store and I typically make my own so i try to discover different varities of veggie burgers.
I called in my order and the lady on the phone was very polite and helpful. It started off right. When I walked in the place, she greeted me with a smile and continued to talk to me like she knew me. We joked around a little bit and i walked out the door with my homemade veggie burger in hand.
I am telling you, this is one of the best veggie burgers around. It has an abundance of flavor and is seated on my favorite, a pretzel bun. The sweet potato fries are also good and same with the free fried pickle that came with my burger. Not only does it taste good but the size of it is massive. I couldn't even eat the whole thing! Well done and very pleased.
I am definitely coming back.
Seriously good food and a lot of it! Â I got the monkey business shake- super yum, the B & B burger with sweet potato fries, and because I was ordering for delivery, added a side of mac and cheese to make my order over $20. Â The mac and cheese is to die for. Â The burger was a little undercooked for my liking. Â I didn't see an option on grub hub for how I wanted the burger cooked (so I'll just specify next time). That being said, I did specify crispy bacon on the burger and it was as limp and white as a noodle :/ Â The burger was also HUGE! Â I couldn't even finish half of it! Â Sweet potato fries were great :) Â I'd order here again, but I might not get the burger..
Review Source:Hey, this place is good! I got the Napa Valley burger and it was amazing, not to mention, entirely too big for me to eat the entire thing in one sitting. Great fries I might add too. I am always down for trying new places to eat and I am glad we ventured over to this place. You should try it out for yourself!
Review Source:Like city food moved to the suburbs! Â Excellent food and service. Â Could have a better beer selection but the food makes up for it. After eating plenty of sub par sandwiches in suburbia, it was nice to visit a place with excellent sandwiches, and a good number of choices on the menu. Â We will definitely be back! Â Good for families, couples, groups, etc.
Review Source:This restaurant has a very nice layout and decor. The bar features multiple TV sets for sports viewing. I would highly recommend the JC Chopped Salad, Kentucky Kernal Sandwich, and if you are in the mood for pizza, they have a great deep dish. The servers are pleasant and operate efficiently. The food takes about 15 minutes to come out. Pizza takes 30-40 minutes. This a new restaurant and a great place to take the family. They also have a special occasions room for birthdays, etc.
Review Source:Random night with my family and I liked that the wait was not long at all. The place was packed, but good turn around. Only waited about 5-10 min. (Mind you we also needed a booster seat). Portions are VERY generous and the prices very reasonable. I had the minestrone soup (big portion) and the steak sandwich (yum but a lot). Â Good atmosphere and good service. Good to know they deliver too. Would recommend. Bar area looks inviting too.
Review Source:If you like to pay $24 for a large deep dish (3 toppings) and have 80% of  it consist of bread, you came to the right place.
I should have known that my experience wasn't going to be a good one when I called to place an order and a woman put me on hold. About 6 minutes later, I decided to hang up and try again. A man picked up and took my order right away.
We ordered a large deep dish w/ pepperoni & sausage on one half and spinach on the other half. Not enough ingredients and way, way, WAY too much bread.
We also had a thin crust mushroom that might have had a handful of mushrooms.
I don't get it - you are in the same market as Rosati's and Lou Malnati's - if you are going to charge me $24 for a large 3 topping + $13 for a medium 1 topping, you better deliver. Sadly, North Branch didn't.
I'll give them this - their fries and burgers are good.
I came for lunch with a coworker. Service was good and portions were generous. We both had burgers with cheese fries and share the baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The food was good (not amazing) and there was a nice ambiance to the restaurant.
I'm planning on coming back for dinner sometime and would like to try the pizza and some of the appetizers then so I'll write more after that.
Nick, the owner has created a CHEERS bar on the site of many prior restaurants.
I have been there many times and Raul the chef is  terrific.  Having been trained at Lettuce Entertain You (how many great chefs were trained there) he brings his skills to make all items delicioso.
Appetizers: Â would you believe half price in the bar from 4 to 7 pm daily? Â Just try the pork nachos - like nothing you've had before. Â Or the sliders or the meatballs. The best.
Raul's deep dish pizza is as good as Pequod's if you know of that famous place.
And his burgers are one of the best I've ever had. Â Try the double deuce and be thrilled. Â Make sure you have the sweet potato fries.
Also try the various dipping sauces.
Sandra is a terrific knowledgeable waitress ask for her.
tell them the Burgermaven sent you,.
EXCELLENT!
Great service and great food.
The place was packed on Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
We had no reservations but their was a booth at the bar in the corner that was big enough for 6 adults.
My kids trashed the place but the waitress was very nice. We tipped her very well.
I had the mac n cheese with ceasars chicken on top... MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... it came in a cast iron skillet piping hot and it was sooooooo delicious and creamy. The chicken was sliced it long strips witha perfectly crispy thin outer layer that was seasoned by a professional.
Too bad I stuffed myself on HALF-PRICED APPETIZERS the pulled pork nachos rock my socks off. The flimsy iceberg and tomato salad in the middle of the nachos sent a nice burn down my feedhole. The jalepeno  dressing was in disguise and a pleasant surprise to an otherwise OUTSTANDING nacho plate.
The calamari was so tender and delicious and the batter melted off the big delicious rings and squiggly little critters. No rubber here. Cuffing magnificent!
My wife had the bistro salmon special... very nice. The dirty mashed were a bit glossy but very tasty. The veggies were steamed but a bit dark and mushy.
My four-year-old boy had the spaghetti and meatball from the children's menu and might I say it a was a tasty and a spicy a meat a ball. No kiddie portions either... I would have been stuffed by his plate if I wasn't stuffed from mine.
BELL'S TWO-HEARTED... on tap. Boo-Yah! New favorite place!! Aside from Kuma's...
The waitress said that the pizza was rather good, too.... gotta take her up on that soon!
I have been here 4 times. No more. My tables orders are always screwed up. My nephew wanted a chicken sandwich with just cheese. I don't know how many times he said just bread, chicken, and cheese. Well, it came with no cheese, swimming in lettuce. My boys just wanted their sandwiches plain, no fried pickles, etc. Yes, you guessed it. The sandwiches came fully loaded.
My sons are allowed a soft drink with one refill. Thats my rule. They always ask for no ice. Apparently Destiny (or whoever) doesn't know what that means. Sodas were repeatedly brought with ice to the brim. I wanted a deep dish pizza. What I got was thin. The owner did what he could to make things right offering a dessert (I never eat dessert), and in the end comped the pizza. The attention to detail is not to be found here. Everyone is perfectly nice, but I'm not paying for nice. I'm a math teacher. I appreciate accuracy. My boys and I expect to receive what we order. Is that really too much to ask?
I have eaten here several times and the food is very good, The menu is large enough to offer a variety while still maintaining their focus on their specialties  ( Burgers and pizza.).  The cheese curds are excellent ( a little pricy at close to 8.00, but worth it). The burgers are huge and tasty, order them on the pretzel roll!.  The pan pizza is  very good, (it's similar to Pequods) and trumps the thin  crust.  They have a great bar area with a large selection of beer and cocktails.
The only down side is that service tends to be inconsistent. I've found this to be particularly true if you are sitting outside  on the patio. The people, however , tend to be very friendly and happy to correct  any issues once they are brought  to their attention.
I had a perfectly decent dinner here the night before the start of the 3-Day in Chicago. I had made it a point to get up to Glenview before dinnertime as a fellow 3-Day walker had set up a fundraiser that would allow a percentage of sales to be donated to her for a walk later in the fall. Visiting here was a no brainer as the menu looked fairly standard, I was going to be helping to support a fellow walker, and let's be real...at least this way I wouldn't be drinking alone.
With a Half Acre Daisy Cutter to my left and a chicken sandwich covered in coleslaw and a huge side of fries to share with my teammate, I was in pretty good shape. Maybe not as good as the friend of mine that had been there helping to raise money for so many hours that she found herself drinking straight from the pitcher of coors light, but I was happy enough. The food was pretty solid bar fare, Chicago's local brews were a fairly cheap treat, and they support local community members raising money for charitable organizations...all wins in my book.
I've been here numerous times. The first time I tried the dish with the salmon - DELICIOUS! My husband loves their burgers. I also came here with some coworkers for a dinner celebration, and we tried the pizza. Yummy! I loved the service - the waitress found out it was my birthday and gave us a free round of shots.
Overall, this place is awesome. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is pleasant. I've talked to the Head Chef numerous times (sometimes he comes around and asks how you like the food), and just the way the place looks - inside and out - makes it for a very pleasant experience.
I will keep coming back!
This place was great! I was visiting with my fiancé (we live out of state) and my best friend brought us here for dinner. I've been telling my fiancé for WEEKS how awesome Chicagoland food is and this place proved my point. YUM! He got the Mac n' Cheese with pulled pork. I recommended he go for something Chicago was known for but he really wanted that instead. It was AMAZING.  I had the Greek salad and shared a veggie pizza with my friend. It was delicious too.
The place was pretty busy when we got there but service was great and the noise level wasn't bad either. There were lots of TVs but they weren't overbearing and didn't take away from the cozy ambiance. I loved the stone wall interior and the cute old school delivery bicycle advertising that they deliver.
This may be right up there with Egg Harbor Cafe and Garrett's Popcorn for places I "have to visit" when I visit my old hometown. :)
Love it here! Â The portions are enormous. Â Had the turkey burger and it was delicious! Â I wanted to go back for another the next day. Â
Hummus is also worth ordering. Â The only thing that wasn't very well-received by my group was the personal pizza. Â It was thin and belonged on the kids' menu. Â
Great place for lunch, much sunnier than the prior restaurant.
I was eager to try the veggie burgers here, but suspicious of what arrived on my plate. Sure enough, it was a turkey burger! The waitress was very nice about it, and once the veggie burger arrived, it was amazing. The sweet potato fries, sauce and fried pickle on top were very good as well. I definitely plan to return for carryout and dining in.
Review Source:For our appitizer we had the chicken wings with the tear jerker sauce. Very good, though hardly tear jerker. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie. Excellent.
The deep dish pizza was another story. The crust was OK. The sauce was too sweet. Â
And that supposed "carmalized cheese"? No, that was burnt. A good example of carmalized cheese is, when you make a grilled cheese sandwich, and some of the cheese drips out from between the bread, and gets crispy? That's carmalized cheese. The stuff that was on this crust was black and inedible. Black is burnt.
We stopped in for lunch the other day. Â Waitress was nice, but didn't really know the menu when we asked a few questions (kind of seemed like she really hadn't tried the food herself). Â
As far as the food, I thought it was pretty decent. Â I ordered a burger which was nice and juicy. Â The kids had mac n cheese (which is the kind that comes in a skillet baked in the oven, not out of a box which was nice), and the noodles with meatball. Â They seemed to like it all. Â Also had the cheese curds, which were good. Â It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but it's a casual place and we will be returning. Â We didn't try the pizza, but I saw a table near us had a thin crust and it looked good. Â I asked the waitress about pizza delivery, and she thought it would be starting in a month.
I do think it is nice to have some newer restaurants appear on the West side of Glenview for a change, and not in the Glen. In order for things to be successful on the west side, we need to support them, esp since several other restaurants have donned this spot. That being said, I really hope this place survives. Â Worth giving it a try.
This place is great all around....the atmosphere, service and food. Â We ordered the pork nachos for an appetizer and they were not your typical nachos. Â Every chip had a generous amount of toppings and the pulled pork was to die for.
We then had the deep dish pepperoni pizza, and I have to say it gives Lou Malnati's a run for their money. Â Those that say the crust was burnt must have never heard of the word carmalized. Â It gave the already delicious crust that great extra touch. Â For dessert we had the key lime pie (my favorite dessert). Â This one did not disappoint. Â It had the perfect amount of lime and the crust was so good.
The beer selection is great...they have #9 and Daisy Cutter; two of my favorites. Â The bar and decor are great and the service was really good especially for a new restaurant. Â
I for sure will be back and I can't wait to try other items on their menu!
There is no reason to ever slap a burger on the grill at home because it will never match the yummy goodness of a burger here...OMG...tasted like it was right off the grill...juicy, savory, cooked with some pink in the middle, choice of a buttered bun or pretzel roll...egads my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Â And it was huge...only able to eat half, which meant I had enough for another meal at home. ..lucky me. This was my first visit and I will be back again, but it will be hard for me to try something else, knowing that the burgers were outstanding.
The decor is subdued and cozy, dark wood and exposed brick. Â The staff was welcoming and friendly. Â I wish them well...it has to be tough to open a new restaurant in today's economy.
Standard Pizza and Burger fare.....new location so they get a little break. Â Â Large space inside, Â pubstyle.. Â why was everyone looking at me? Â Was I talking too loud? Â Do they recognize me? Â Â We enjoyed out dinner with some family... Â But it seemed everytime I looked up... Â everyone was looking at me. Â Â When we left, Â My Dad asked me if we would come back.,.. Â I said the food was ok, but seriously... Â why was everyone staring at me. Â Â He said.. Â you were sitting under the BIG screen TV... Â They were all watching the sports. Â HAA Â Jokes on me!
Review Source:I brought my mom here for lunch. There have been several restaurants in this location and I am hoping this one sticks around for a while. It's very close to where she lives, and the food was good. My mom loved it! So that's a BIG PLUS!
She had the mac n cheese and I had a salad with added salmon. We shared a beer too. The portions were big. If you don't care about being too healthy, this is the place. I saw some burgers and sandwiches come out of the kitchen. They looked fantastic! Big and juicy with a huge side of fries. Mom's mac n cheese was a nice helping. It comes with a spicy tomato and onion mix to put on top and has bacon in it. It's ok. I think it needs to be creamier. The owner should try the dish at Kuma's corner... now THAT'S what I call MAC N CHEESE!
My salad was ok. The salmon was an ok portion for the extra $5. I added it to a greek salad. They could add a little more variety to the salad. How about a pepperoncini? tomatoes? I forget if there was feta in it... I dunno... it needed something.
The wait staff is friendly. They had an unexpected party of 50 walk in... and you wouldn't know it. So that says something.
However, it seems like it can get quite noisy in there. I think they are trying to do something about it though.
But hey, Mom LOVED it! I thought it was good enough to come back for a Sunday dinner with her too.
