    The PERFECT Place!!!
    That's IF you love music so loud you cannot carry on a conversation with the person sitting or standing next to you;
    IF you think $15 minimum on average is a fair price for a burger. A Burger!
    If you like sports bars with lots of tvs, but most of them are older than the sets your grandparents owned around the time color tv's were invented;
    TRULY the worst place to watch football on Sundays UNLESS picture quality doesn't matter to you.
    Slow service...the slowest. Don't believe me? Bring War and Peace and settle in.
    the wait staff are all very nice, and they have their apologies down pat. What is the holdup in the kitchen? As in ALWAYS?

    Pub

    This is an interesting little place tucked into a small shopping center on Montauk Highway in Oakdale.

    Some friends shot me a text to let me know they were going to see a band play at O'Reilly's, so I shot over to grab a cocktail and listen in.  The place is roughly divided right down the middle with an informal dining area to the left and a long ass bar to the right.

    We were at the bar the whole night so cannot tell you about service on the sit-down side.  The bartenders were all decent and made solid drinks.  We had some apps at the bar and it is essentially solid bar foods- all was good and the wings were very good.

    Prices were also on the good-er side of things.  We ended up being three people and even though one girl was nursing her drink, we were hitting them and the final bill was a pleasant surprise.

    Mix the good prices in with very friendly people at the bar - a real mixed bag in ages- and you have yourself a solid place to hang out.

    Worth hitting if in the area.

    Parking in front.

    solid local pub fare in a clean friendly environment...unfortunately at a high price...don't get me wrong: they make some very good burgers, but not $15 good - very tasty fish & chips, but at $18 they've got me thinking twice -  you get the idea...beer list is also subpar, sorry but when harp is the most exotic offering it's hard to get overly excited...still, not a bad spot to grab a bite to eat with friends, just be prepared to shell out a little more than the average pub would run you

    I like it here...I have not had the food yet.  Good bands on weekends and attractive older women who are fun to flirt with.

    No good seating at the bar.

    Would have been 4-5, but extremely understaffed and long waits. 20 minutes to order, another 25 for an order of mozzarella sticks and so on. But the burgers are excellent, fries were decent but undercooked and prices are reasonable. Will be going back.

    Spent some time here on St Patty's Day.  (first visit) Big crowd naturally... Had the corned beef and cabbage dinner which was just about cooked to perfection.  The potato soup was not what I expected.   It had nice flavor but the consistency was like runny mashed.  The wait staff was overwhelmed, but did manage to serve with a smile anyway.  I would go back, the prices are reasonable for pub fare.

    THIS BAR IS AWESOME!!!
    Great relaxed atmosphere of great people! The staff and ownership is fantastic! As well as entertaining... Ask Tommy about the growler bet, Brian will joke with you even when you least expect it!
    The food is seriously some of the best ever! The tuesday $5 burger night can't be beat with open mic night with "the godfather" himself! Very talented dude and again very entertaining. Both comedy and musical acts Vary but it's always fun! The burgers are cooked better than pretty much anywhere and the portions are extremely generous! The entrees are big enough for 2.
    Football Sundays are another really fun day to watch the games!
    *scarf soldier represent* lol
    Every game is on and you'll find almost everyone there will talk about the games... I will!
    THERE IS NEVER A COVER!!!!
    Seriously an awesome place to let loose hang out and let the good times roll!!

    OK let me preface this with.... This is my 'Cheers' so Ill admit my review is gonna be biased.  That said, let the fun begin.....

    OK I started going here a few yrs back STRICTLY for Giants games on Sundays where their deal ($2 beers and 1/2 apps) is good enough to keep me there, until I realized that they have an equally good deal on Monday (Buy a tower of beer and get 2 free orders of wings) then Wendsday is Irish Night, Thursday is Steak Night, etc.

    If you're a football fan you'll REALLY enjoy this place on Sundays in the Fall, they have NFL Ticket so any game can be played.  We even have a strong contingent of Steeler fans to go along with us Giants fans and a significantly less amount of Jets fans..... Cant forget the HD Projection TV that goes from the ceiling to the floor

    The bartenders are EXCELLENT, some do the traditional buy back deal, others do a straight up buy one get one, but be friendly and introduce yourself and I guarantee you'll be getting the hook up, unlike MOST LI Bars, this staff actually seems to give half a crap about their patrons.... Im lookin at you Half Penny Pub, take a lesson from 'The O's' and get bartenders who enjoy being there and like their customers

    Prices for drinks depend on who's your bartender.... Ive been charged anywhere from $4-$8 for a Jameson on the Rocks, if you get the higher price then its the owner and he's an old school buy back guy, might come off as a lil rough, but he's actually a SUPER cool guy

    The food is what REALLY sets this place apart from most.  Not only does the Chef change it up and add new stuff from time to time, he comes out and chills with the patrons and has a few secret items that only a few of us on the menu know :)

    EVERYTHING on the menu is over the top good, ESPECIALLY for a Pub.  I would go item by item and say what's good and not because I literally have tried EVERYTHING on the menu (minus 2 new items added last week).  Im a big fan of their wings and fried artichoke, but honestly you cant go wrong with anything..... Hell I brought my mom there and even tried her veggie wrap which was suprisingly out of this world!!!!  Sandwiches and Burgers are extremly brolic and filling.... OMG they just added a French Dip sandwich and try not to cry tears of joy and triumph while eating it.... you'll only ruin the delicious Au Jus, LOL

    Now how can I forget the Cult Hero of the Pub....The Lamb Sheppard's Pie...... WOW, now thats a slice of deep fried gold for ya!!!!!!  Ive had it at other Irish eateries in Western Suffolk and hands down this one takes the cake.... If you're in search of a hearty meal good as a base for a night of drinking you just met your best friend

    My only qualm with this place is their TEEEEERRRRIBLE jukebox, now while they HAVE stepped their game up to an MP3 box, the selection is still meh!!!!!  Its all 1 kind of music with the exception of a few Old School R&B, Funk, and Irish songs which I ALWAYS put on.  Albums will have 1 or 2 songs on it rather than the full LP like MOST jukeboxes... And Damnit Ive mentioned it to you guys all the time!!!!

    Oh and GET SOME MORE DAMNED BLUE POINT FLAVORS!!!!!

    .... I'll see you guys there 2nite, LOL, and I love ya Tommy

    Appetizers have changed since my initial review, they now seem to be prepackaged frozen kind.  A disappointment.
