Original Danny's of Sterling

I lived right down the street from Danny's for over two years and I'm mad at myself for only having it once before I moved away.
It doesn't look like much on the outside, and it's not what you'd expect on the inside.
The atmosphere is very "cheers" style. A lot of regulars go here, but our waitress treated us just the same.
The menu selection is huge!! A wide variety of almost everything. From fish and chips to club sandwiches to burritos.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and fast. The manager even came by to see how everything was.
There are a handful of tv's to watch there.

I was in the mood for good fish & chips and yelp! had this 2nd in the local next to this Dublin Fish & Chips which I tried a few years ago which was good but I found it to be crowded, cramped and slow and I wasn't in the mood for waiting.

Despite almost being run over in the parking lot by some pizza delivery guy coming fast around the back of the building we made it inside.  The 1st reviewer of this place made it sound like a coney island so I was expecting a super casual Travis diner experience but it's slightly nicer, especially with the cute little faux fountain thing in the wait to be seated area.

The waitresses here are snappy.  Door wait was -1 second, I didn't even stop in my stride walking in the door and we were already being seated.
Fish & Chips are top notch, (although the chips were just average) The tarter was excellent too as they use a dill based one and it tastes 3X better than a relish based one.

The menu is massive and I think there were a lot of senior items/specials which would account why everyone was bringing their senior mom & dads here.  A busboy is stationed outside the kitchen like an enforcer while the guys in the kitchen can be seen and heard laughing in one accord, looks like they rule the roost.

Pros: They run a tight ship, good Fish & Tarter.
Cons: The back corner of the restaurant parking lot is a hazard if that delivery guy makes his rounds here all the time.  

The previous reviewer also mentioned good inhouse brined cornbeef, I'll have to try that sometime, maybe they deserve a 4 Star.

This is a favorite of ours when we are in the area.
It is a classic "Coney Island" type of place.
They have a better than average menu. Our favorite is corned beef,swiss cheese,russian dressing,on rye bread(grilled), with house made cole slaw. Spoke with the owner the last time we were there. He told us that he buys a very specific cut of brisket with virtually no fat on it. He cures these briskets in the restaurant. This is maybe the best corned beef we have ever had.
Fish and chips is a Detroit specialty; and this place will not disappoint your expectations
