The back patio here is stellar. Â I ate brunch here a couple sundays ago and stayed practically all day and made some new friends. Â I got the eggs benedict with no ham and added lobster because it was a day to celebrate! Â You can even bring your dog; as long as they are friendly and leashed!
This is a great place to chill with friends and have great food and cocktails.
As I am sitting here thinking whether The Other Room should get 4 or 5 stars I asked myself "what would I change about The Other Room?". The answer is nothing so it deserves 5 stars. Â The Other Room is great as it is and some of the things that I don't like about it, such as the limited seating or smelling like an ashtray when I leave, are things that I wouldn't change about TOR. Â The drinks here are strong and the patio is great. Â You have Picasso Cafe next door for a late night pizza. Â The music is always great and the crowd never disappoints. Â
Don't change, The Other Room, don't change. I love you as you are.
I love the Other Room... I usually only go there when the weather is nice so I can enjoy the back patio. It has become the starting point to a night of debauchery. The peeps and myself will meet out there and order some drinks and then get some grub from Picasso's. Nothing like some amazing food, good brew and picnic tables. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxing.
Review Source:The thing I like about the Other Room is the patio. They have a nice, big, partially covered patio out back between this bar and Picasso.
The thing I don't like about the other room is being told my beer is one price but being charged more for it.
In the grand scheme of things, I'm not too bothered by that and this is a pretty cool little hang-out but it is just that: little. Very little and very smoky. I've come on the weekends when it was 'one in one out' because there were so many people there, so i opted not to wait. There is also a nifty room in the back with a couch and a television that can be closed off to the outside world by a curtain. They have decent drinks, including my favorite beer, Franziskaner, which makes the bar a winner in my book. So if you are looking for a nice little spot where you can order some damn good food from next door or hang out on their sweet patio, go to The Other Room!
Dive Bar but Nice Bar
I love the fact that this is a dive bar and yet has old fashioned beverages (stuff your mom and dad would drink). Â This bar has character, yet is truly just an old fashioned wood trimmed bar. Â Private tables in the back and a nice patio way in the back. Â The front of the house is small so if someone is smoking, so are you... but that is all part of a bar right? Â The drinks are good and strong. Â Overall it is a great experience, and the staff is fantastic. Â Please try the pretzels, you will not be disappointed...
First off, get a pretzel. Â Just do it. Â And then order as many more pretzels as you can eat, because they're worth the trip on their own.
The atmosphere is a cross between dive bar and lounge, dark, smoking allowed, and with a nice picnic-tabled back patio. Â The waitstaff is friendly, and while not super fast, also not super slow. Â
As to drinks: the beer selection is limited but better than your average dive, with a few really good standouts. Â The cocktails... could use some work. Â They have a lovely menu full of classic cocktails, but the mixing is never done quite right-- the proportions tend to be off, favoring making the drinks a bit sweeter than they really ought to be. Â The staff also varies in their knowledge of off-menu drinks.
