I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon around 130p.

It was me and one other table so I got all of Maria's attention.

I opted for the made by your table fresh guacamole...wow, quite a show and freshly excellent.

I had the four mini-chimichangas made with flour tortillas. Very good flavor and just right for a light meal. I really liked the salsa as well, it's very fresh and excellent ingredients and quite flavorful.

Their ice tea is super sweet.

I understand that from time to time they have mariachis.

Pretty good mexican food but service was a little slow. Enchiladas and Nacho's were spot on and the salsa was super freash!! I will remember this place next time i am in town

Not a good Mexican restaurant. The chips were OK but the salsa was bland. The house margarita is cheap but watered down. I had the chicken tacos which were bland, as well. No garnish just chicken and mediocre soft tacos. The guacamole and relish were served in little plastic cups, which struck me as odd. Finally, the waitress would disappear for long periods. I had to track her down to get the bill.

Personally, I had a pretty good experience here with the family for the holidays. Table side guacamole is delicious and plentiful. $13 for guacamole is a bit excessive, but ok since 4 people got their fill. Salsa and chips were fresh and flavorful, though no kick at all. Ask for something a bit spicier and you get a couple choices of smokey salsa or salsa verde. Not bad. I ordered the burrito gordo with steak. OMG, forget about Chipolte, this burrito is sized for an intercontinental ballistic missile payload. Seriously, next 4th of July, we should just order 6 of this guys and crate them up and parade them  down Constitution ave in DC! North Korea will retreat their ambitions.   So much food, but good. I finished all but 3-4 bites that my wife and others sampled. Huge doesn't mean good. But good and huge can be awesome. Otherwise, good happy hour prices on Dos X's and Margaritas. Delicious margaritas on the rocks. Chile relleno were good, chicken Monterey was a bit velveeta-esque. Service with a smile and a good night out with the family. Will definitely return. Olé!

Maybe the advance telltale sign is that everyone was Mexican except the customres.  Good beer and chips and salsa to start off.  Cold Dos Equis on tap.  I ordered the Cochinita Pibil as it was different than the usual Mexican fare.  Shredded pork on a banana leaf with a rice and plaintains side.  Really, really flavorful and not bbq style pulled or shredded.  I'd get this again in a flash if I ever come back this way again.  Maybe best thing about this place was the feeling that it wasn't a franchise (and I still don't know if it is or not).

Starting off, the chips tasted more like unsalted Baked Lays than real chips. The salsa had fresh ingredients but still was somehow uninspiring.  Menu prices were rather expensive for Mexican. Just about everything was over $10, and a number of things were over $15. A combination dinner with 3 items was $12.50, for example.  And while the menu did have fish tacos and chori-pollo, it still seemed to be missing a lot of other things one expects at a Mexican place.

I ordered fajitas, which were delivered to the table cooked but not sizzling, whereupon they were transferred to a hot plate for the requisite sizzle ... not really sure why it didn't come from the kitchen on that plate to begin with ... One edge of the two tortillas were hard (like they were dried-out).  Otherwise, the fajitas were good, and the refried beans were tasty and better than average, with some whole beans in there.  The restaurant itself is clean and nicely-decorated, but considering I just paid more than $18 with tip (no drink), for ONE PERSON, for MEXICAN, I expected a whole lot more.  I would eat here again if I had to, but not on purpose.

What can I say...I was driving from Richmond to DC and was craving Mexican like a mad dog.  This place did the job and did it fairly well.

I just ended up getting a chimichanga and some rice, but both were cooked to perfection and it reminded me of why I miss Mexican food in the US so much.  The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had a massive stomach ache later (which was surely not their fault...but more me having lost my tolerance to Mexican food after living in 'bore my tastebuds' Scandinavia for the past year).

Next time I am driving the same route I will definitely be stopping here though.  And hopefully enjoying some of their huge ass margaritas.

We were in a bit of a hurry at lunchtime today so we didn't get to "enjoy" lunch as much as I would have liked, but the food here was pretty good-I'd lean towards a 3.5 rating for today.  When we got there, the place was pretty empty so we were seated immediately.  Again, since we were here for a work lunch, we ordered diet cokes (but damn, the margaritas were HUGE and looked SOOOOO good).

Our waitress was great and worked on getting us our food and checks quickly when we were done.  Everyone seemed to enjoys their meals...I personally had the lunchtime fajitas with beef and chicken and thought they were very tasty...and there was enough for three burritos when I threw on the rice, beans, veggies and meat.  My co worker had the same meal, but got very little meat so he was a bit disappointed-even if he liked the flavor. My other two friends had mini chimichangas and a chicken burrito and they enjoyed them as well.

Between the tasty food, the good service, and the free chips and salsa I would probably have given this a four star rating, but until I eat a meal here with a margarita, or at least a Dos Equis or Corona, it's gonna have to stay a three star review.

I haven't been to Pancho Villa in a while but everytime I've been here the food and service has been great. Probably some of best Mexican food in Fredericksburg. I'll have to come back soon.

The best Mexican place I've been to during my time in Stafford.  The food was good, and the service was quick.  I recommend it and will probably be going again soon.

My favorite place for Mexican food because its delicious and 5 minutes from my house.. Love the Carne Asada Tacos. OR just an order of the Jalisco Nachos with STEAK.  Table-side guac service is so delicious and fun.  DO IT.  The Tortilla soup is great and I can also say the queso dip is sinful.

Minus one star because you CANNOT order Take-Out without checking the contents before you leave... they ALWAYS mess something up.  If you make an order, you must check it before you leave.  I'm serious.

Not to throw in some reverse-agism in the mix, but its usually a really young waitstaff that cannot handle too much going on at once; especially if their friends are hanging around.  Beware of this because they are not competent of taking their jobs seriously (i mean who did when they were 18 working in a restaurant?)  But I'm just sayin... once you get seated its all good. Seriously good.

While back in Fredericksburg visiting we had dinner here on a Thursday night.  The restaurant is very large and was mostly empty. This is usually not a very promising sign, but when you are with the family you go with it.  I will have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  We had the guacamole for an appetizer which is made table side which is always a nice touch.  We asked for medium spice which wasn't hot at all.  I would assume for being on the east coast that is fine.  I really liked it though so they get a thumbs up for that.  My enchiladas verdes were pretty good and had a bit of spice my only complaint was the food was a bit cool, not cold, but not really hot either. For desert I had the chocolate flan which was pretty fantastic.  I had never had chocolate flan before it's usually vanilla and carmel and was a nice change of pace.

The wait staff was extremely nice and very prompt on our visit. Since they weren't very busy your milage may vary.

I would definitely head back there on  my next visit.

    Try:
    - Guacamole
    - Chocolate Flan
    - LA Burrito

Great place for all levels of mexican eaters.  Great vegetarian options.
Good for families and big groups since they have plenty of room

Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and enjoyed everything quite a bit. Being Pancho Villa first timers, we weren't sure what to expect as our Mexican low is El Charro and Mexican high being Uncle Julio's in Woodbridge.

We were seated quickly and brought our drinks, chips (piping hot), and salsa equally as fast (along with our order of guacomole). Service was efficient without being brusque. The menu has typical fare, but also a good amount of items made with seafood which is the direction my hubby and I both took when ordering. I went for the shrimp fajitas with olive oil and garlic and was not disappointed. Quantity and quality both very good here. My husband went for a seafood burrito that had a mix of white fish and shrimp. It was large enough to cut in half and have some for the next day's lunch.

Atmosphere, service, food, and pricing made for a nice mid-week meal out!

Bottom line: There's plenty of restaurants on this exit of I-95, but if its Mexican food you're craving Pancho Villas is worth a stop.

By far, not the best Tex-Mex I've ever had, but for the area, it's pretty good!  They also have some authentic Mexican dishes that are quite tasty. When we are in the mood for Tex-Mex, we hit Pancho Villas.

Ok I am doing an update because I ate here again few weeks ago during lunch and the food was much better, still not the same quality  Mexican food, you would eat in Texas or Cali, but it was ok.  The drinks were the star of the show for the meal though, I am thinking since this time I went during a time they were not super busy they took better care my food.

And the trophy for World's Smallest Lobster goes to...

...the Pancho Villa restaurant, named for the gun slinging rebel Mexican who probably never saw a lobster in his rebellious Mexican life.

The only thing on the menu that didn't sound fatty was the Mariscadas Mexicana, which has a decent serving of shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels, and it CLAIMS to have a lobster tail in it, too. If I didn't know it was a lobster tail I'd say it was a jumbo shrimp.

Please see the diagram: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/9zBj8930h5W_Ozd5KRiPMw?select=Ay4ki4c3LplmI2cF6Wwcog">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>

It was very tasty, not too salty, and was all seafood with only a few pieces of celery and cilantro here and there floating around.

I've been to two of Pancho Villa's locations and have not had a bad meal at either one. The fajitias are above par and their quesadillas are excellent. The real highlight is their chips and salsa. The last time my fiance and I went there I was freezing, and the chips were right out of...the fryer or something because they were warm and I held them in my hands.

Oh, and they taste delicious too. Their salsa is very good, not too spicy, just right. Whenever we're in Fredericksburg and my fiance is craving Mexican, we usually head to Pancho Villa.

A tasty, affordable and very decorated Tex-Mex place. I don't think the quality of this branch is quite that of the original location but it's still one of my favourite "Mexican" restaurants. I try to order different menu items almost every visit.
