Step away from the orange chicken! Â Go ahead, try something else, don't be scared. Â You don't have to order a double orange chicken with fried rice every single time you go....there are so many other yummy choices...honey walnut shrimp, beef and broccoli, peppered chicken. Â All so good. Â Is it authentic? Â Of course not, but delicious? Â Absolutely.
This Panda is in the Federal building by my work, so I am here often. Â They never disappoint. Â The two ladies that are always working there are really really nice and are sure to make your lunch a pleasant experience. Â The only thing I don't like about Panda Express in general is their soy sauce...Kikkoman's yuck. Â I prefer the soy sauce you get at most Chinese restaurants. Â Everything else...5 stars!
Don't let the reviews below fool you, Panda does not use MSG, hence the huge sign in every Panda Express saying so.
It was only when I came to Chicago that I actually had Americanized Chinese food for the first time. Now, most places just really suck at making it (I would probably give Fast Foo's a 1 star, and any other random named knockoff a 1 star too), but surprisingly Panda Express is....O...K.... and when  I say ok, I think that their noodles are oily but tasty, and their various chicken choices are although heavily sauced and packed with msg (I'm sure) taste ok. I'm indifferent to the food, and would definitely recommend going to Chinatown for some real Chinese food instead, but if you're just dying for some Chinese and there's only a few places named Chop Suey House, or Canton Palace to choose from...I choose Panda Express.
Review Source:This is the first time I tried Panda Express and I was not impressed. I had  fried rice and two sides. The fried rice had no taste or aroma to it. The beef broccoli was overly salty. In addition, the texture of the beef and the broccoli was strange (ie frozen processed ingredients). The orange chicken had a lard-like aroma to it. The food, however, is quick and cheap. They have specials which includes a drink.
Review Source:For fast food, a topic which I like writing about I've noticed (?), Panda Express is king. For what you get, it's definitely worth every penny. I've never left unsatisfied when I've left Panda Express and that's a good thing, esp. for fast food. I give the place 4 stars instead of 5 because I disagree with some of their offerings. Orange Chicken for one is completely overrated and I don't understand it's huge appeal. Their noodles aren't too great, and the fried rice is lacking. Also, I find it unfair that they penalize the people like me who enjoy the Panda Bowl. The portion size is too small and should be expanded to make room for more meat. So I've said it, go to Panda and enjoy!
Review Source:This is a review for the PandEx Catering services. I think you know what you are getting in to when you dine at this fine eatery.
I loved Panda Express for a big group lunch! The price is just so right. And the food is just bland/predictable enough to appeal to everyone in the office. The catering setup ("Party" packs for set amounts of people) is very simple and leaves only a little room for guessing. YOu get a great variety, plus, you can add on trays of food & appetizers on the cheap. (Like, a large tray of Orange Chicken for $9.99?? holy shit!)
The delivery was right on time, and they brought the exact number of place settings for each person. So keep that in mind--I usually order a little less than the rec amount of food/person, and I had a couple fewer plates than I needed.
Oh, and skip the crab rangoon for catering orders. I know it is hard to resist a giant tray of rangoon in the middle of the day... but it's just not great. and It won't kill the craving.
