My wife and I went to pappys Saturday aug. 18th. You seat yourself then wait and hope a waitperson finds you. After getting our water and order it took nearly 30 minutes to receive our food. My wife's beef  brusque was half meat half fat! Very gross! After picking and eating her way through over half the sandwich, the waiter finally came back to check on us. He did ask if she wanted it replaced, but since we had been there so long already he just removed it from our check. Service was very slow due to only 2 waitstaff on duty. If you have a lot of time to sit and chill, maybe pappys would work for you. Certainly not us again!!

Awesome pub with a great variety of food and beverage. Underrated with the current 3 star rating!

Go to this laidback, neighborhood bar/restaurants for the burgers and beer. Weekends they usually have a guy and his guitar, outdoor patio is nice on summer nights. This place doesn't attract a big college crowd but rather folks from the surrounding neighborhoods.

I think ownership changed sometime back and gone were the tasty hand-cut fries.  Would be nice if they brought those back. They offer weekend breakfasts that I have yet to try.

Small neighborhood friendly pub, nothing really special. Beers are cheap though, that's always a plus. Didn't try any of the food here.

The happy hour bar crowd is a good judge of a popular place. If it's getting crowded at 3pm chances are they have a decent amount of business the rest of the time. Pappy's Corner Pub is a bar and restaurant that is clearly one of those places.

Atmosphere: The outside of this bar isn't very inviting due to its office building appearance. There's also confusion in an Irish pub looking too clean and this place is way too clean. A big part of an Irish pubs appeal is its rustic charm, and Pappy's is somewhat lacking in this department. The restaurant and bar is large, open, bright, with a mix of booths and wooden tables (high-top & regular-sized) scattered across a white tile floor.

Service:  The service was good but nothing over the top. There were several servers on duty taking care of their designated areas and two bartenders keeping the drinks flowing. All in all we had no complaints in the service department.

Drinks:  A very average stocked bar with a few micros and domestics on tap. . With $2.50 domestic drafts, $3.50 micro drafts and $3 wells during happy hour, we had no complaints regardless of selection.

Food:  The food is the redeeming quality for this pub with items like fish n chips, burgers, sandwiches and salads on the menu.  Being served the typical pub food without the typical saturation of grease was refreshing. They have a nice selection of side items, but we have to recommend the fries - they were amazing.

It's football season and they are bringing out the CHEESE CURDS. Yum!

Also this place is under new ownership. They have changed up a few things, new fries, new fish (cod now!) on the fish and chips.

Seems like the majority of the staff is the same (which is good.)

I have lived in the neighborhood for a few years now and the hubby and I finally made it to Pappy's Corner Pup on a random Wednesday night.  The dining area was clean, spacious, and welcoming.  We had the option of dining in or out on the patio.  The patio was huge, but the fact that it was 97 degrees outside, made us stay inside.

Our server was super nice and took great care of us.  She checked in regularly keeping taps on us and our drinks.  The food was just ok.  Small menu, typical pup/bar fare, nothing special.  My Philly cheese-steak was a bit on the dry side.   My husband loved the fish and chips though!

I love that Pappy's is in our neighborhood.  The Beer specials and the patio may have us going back during the summer!  Overall Pappy's is very average.

"Meh" is the perfect explanation for Pappys. There is nothing special about Pappys that makes this restaurant stand out. The food is not great. I got the fish and chips and the fish was very dry. Their "homemade tarter sauce" does not taste homemade. They have a nice patio that is fun to sit out on and have a drink. Their drinks are pricey except during happy hour.

If you go just order drinks. The food is not great and it is not worth the price.

Nothing wrong with it, just boring. Food seemed a little high priced, but it's your run-of-the-mill strip mall bar & grill. It's clean, the staff is nice but just do bare minimum. Not a very good beer selection. On the upside it has free shuffleboard. If I were 40 and looking for a quiet happy hour or Friday night I'd come here.

"How about Pappy's" is a common question in my house.  It's down the street, convenient, tasty and friendly.  Unfortunately it's been a bit hit or miss recently.

Hits: Any waitress we've had here was amazing - Ah-may-ZING!  Right on top of things like drinks, checking up on us, and speedy with the bill.

Misses: I've had a couple beers on tap that seemed to have a bit of a chemical or even soapy taste to them, so I've switched to water or bottled bevs.  One waiter walked past us at least 10 times before I ended up asking him for a menu.  But then sat in front of the POS for a while and we ended up just walking out.

I'm sure they schedule the best servers for Sunday and Mondays but being ignored on a Saturday night left a sour taste in my mouth - and this time it wasn't the pint glass.  I'll be back only with a coupon and if our favorite waitresses are there.  I'll tip 'em even bigger!

This is a place that I REALLY want to like. It is very conveniently located to where I live and I would love to have a nice pub close to home to call my neighborhood bar. Unfortunately Pappy's always seems to disappoint. I have gone there on four different occasions, always spaced out far enough to forget why I didn't like it the previous time. After poor service on my Father's Day dinner I will not be back.

The first time I walked into Pappy's I was very impressed with the interior, not at all what I was expecting, very clean, open and inviting. This is probably why I went back a few more times.

The food is average, it's not bad but it's not that great. The food and drink prices are average, again, not good prices but not overly expensive. They often have coupons available though Valpak (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.valpak.com&s=10c99e628ffd1c63f9bad68b269a753594176434d0d9b959427938019419315f" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.valpak.com</a>) so that will save you a little.

The aspect that has been the most consistent for me is the poor service. I would call the best service I received there as mediocre. You aren't very well attended to and when you ask for something that isn't your first drink or your meal order you are made to feel like you are really inconveniencing them, especially when you have to go find them to ask because they haven't come around in awhile. I always get the feeling that they are really understaffed, and I think that is probably the case. They have you seat yourself so you have 2 members of the wait staff taking care of people in the bar, restaurant and patio area, very inefficient for good customer service.  Due to the lack of attention, your meal tends to take much longer than it should.

Bottom line: If you really want to try Pappy's, do it. Just make sure that you don't have time constraints (ex: lunch during a work day). And go with someone that you enjoy company with because there may be some waiting and that may help mask the poor service.

For the longest time I didn't even know this place existed until I got a coupon in the mail for it.  It is nestled in the corner of the shopping center at Horsetooth and Sheilds and you wouldn't even know it was there if you were just driving by.  It has taken me several months to make it over there, but with my buy one, get one free coupon in hand, I finally gave Pappy's a try.  After all, I am always looking for a easy going place to get some beer and grub that isn't all the way in Old Town.

Now, Pappy's is selling itself on being a neighborhood bar where you can come hang out, get some food and beer, and maybe watch a game on the the tv, all while being able to hang out with your friends.  So maybe I shouldn't have been surprised when we walked in and saw a "Please Seat Yourself Sign", but I was.  I have eaten at several pub where you were still seated by a waitress.  Never being there before, my husband and I wondered around for a bit trying to figure out the layout and the best place to sit.  After making a complete trip around the restaurant and bar, all the while being closely followed by a waitress with menus, we finally settled on a booth in the bar area (we almost sat in the normal dinning area, but it looked like a large birthday crowd was about to gather there).  My husband and I could see out of the corners of our eyes the waitress hand off the menus to another waitress acting annoyed that it took us so long to figure out where to sit only for us not to sit in her section.  Sorry, but we had never been there before and we were told to seat ourselves!  If you wanted us to sit in a certain place, you should have seated us yourself.  The second waitress then came by and coldly gave us our menus with no "hi" or "how are you?" to greet us.

We were finally saved from the standoffish and bitchy waitresses by a third, much friendlier waiter that actually cared about the fact that we were there.  I already knew I wanted to try the fish and chips, since I try them everywhere I go and kind of consider my self a connoisseur of fish and chips.  My husband went with the pub club.  Both of our dishes were alright.  Overall, the food was just too greasy (both the fries and the fish).  It was like the cook didn't shake off the oil and let any of it blot off.  Besides that the taste was fine, but nothing too special.

There were some positive points about the inside, though.  It was crisp, clean, and brightly lit (but on the other hand, not very "pub" like).  There was a really neat fish tank in the bar that I also enjoyed looking at while I ate (there was a HUGE puffer fish in it which was super rad).  Also, even though they had sports playing on the tv's with the sound overhead, it wasn't so loud that my husband and I couldn't have a normal conversation.  And this was with us even sitting in the bar section!  I always hate it when the sports are blasting and you can't hear a single other thing.

At the end, the nice waiter brought us our bill and was even nice enough to show us that he factored in our coupon making the pub club free.  He was also very pleasant when we asked for boxes and then when he dropped them off.  Like I said before, he seemed to actually care that we were there, unlike the other waitresses.

So, I guess we had a pretty mixed experience: weird seating arrangements, some standoffish waitresses, okay food, but one very nice waiter.  Will I go back?  Probably, but only if I have another coupon.
