Easily my favorite burger place in Denver. It is a sit down as opposed to the semi service order at the counter places, but honestly that is the only downside I can think of. I have yet in my numerous times had a burger I didn't like, and the fries are easily the best around. I always go with the half sweet potato half truffle fries, soooo good it's making me want to go tonight! Good happy hour and football day draft specials. Sure the service isn't godly, but do remember you are at a burger place and not capital grill.
Review Source:Brought here by good friends who live nearby. Â They actually are on the 14er wall, go look for them! Â I'm not going to tell you who they are though...
First time we came, I gave my order and then promptly changed my mind when I saw the Chef's special. Â I flagged down the waitress and she sprinted to make sure they were able to change it. Â A+++ for service. Â F+++ for my indecision.
I had the Chef's special with brat, sauerkraut, mustard, and we split the sweet potato fries. Â Delicious all around.
So delicious, I ordered take-out from here again the next day. Â This time I got a Park Burger with haystack onions, american cheese, and jalapenos. Â It came with some sort of spread that reminded me a bit of In 'n out. Â Very delicious once again.
I also went for the works fries. Â I mean, I have to try everything to give a well-rounded review right? Â
Everything was delicious, fast, and cheap. Â 3 things I love. Â Thumbs up Denver!
Park Burger is one of the most hyped places in Denver; I've wanted to try it for a while, but I didn't know what to expect-- if I was hoping for "OMG the best burger everrrr" or if I should brace myself for a serious letdown. Â Overall, I wasn't overwhelmed with amazingness, but I was impressed!
They had about a half hour wait on a Friday night, but we were able to call ahead and get a place in line. Â It's cute and bright, with a long counter remniscent of old diners, as well as other tables and a bar. Â Our server was friendly and fast, but didn't rush us. Â And I was impressed with the food! Â I had a Park burger with pepperjack and mushrooms, and it was great-- a thinner burger than some places, but still cooked accurately to medium. Â The whole wheat bun helped me pretend it was healthy and was tasty. Â My friend had a buffalo burger over mixed greens and enjoyed it. Â The buffalo looked delicious, and I might try it next time. Â We also shared an order of sweet potato fries and truffle fries. Â The sweet potato fries were delicious. Â The truffle fries weren't as truffle-y as I expected, having never had truffle fries, and weren't quite crispy enough for my taste. Â We also had a margarita each, and both the rocks and frozen were surprisingly good. Â
Everything is a la carte, but very reasonably priced, and very customizable. Â A generous portion of burger with a few toppings or even will run you less than under ten dollars, with a shareable portion of fries for just a few dollars more. Â I'm not sure if it will knock your socks off, but for good margaritas, yummy burgers actually cooked to order and excellent sweet potato fries, I would definitely make a repeat visit! Â And maybe save room for a milkshake.
Before the expansion, this was a cute little burger place with great service. Â Now that it is double the size, the charm has warn off.
We were told it would be a 30 minute wait when we went in on a weeknight. Â We thought our little party of five could handle it. Â After about 20 minutes of waiting, the hostess took away my chair- 8 months pregnant, standing, hungry, waiting....waiting for another 40 minutes. We snuck a couple of peeks at the waitlist and noticed that some parties of four that were below us on the list had been seated ahead of us. Â Now, I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure that most restaurants seat 5 people at 4 top tables by pulling up an extra chair. Â When we were getting read to grab our group and go to Hanson's, they finally called us.
All five of us were so famished when we sat down, so we ordered two baskets of fries and a round of burgers right away. Â The food came quickly. Â We were thankful that the out-of-towners that we brought there loved the food, because the service certainly let us down.
As a side note- while we were waiting, a guy came in to pick up a to-go order. The hostess asked him if he had sliders, and he said no. She then told him that "someone had taken his order." Â I don't know if it is the current teacher or former hostess in me that got annoyed at this, or the fact that she had taken my chair earlier, but take some responsibility, lady! Â If you gave away his order, fess up! Â (
Everyone needs a good neighborhood burger joint and I am happy to say mine is just over a mile away from home. Â Park Burger is a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant that has been putting out consistently delicious burgers, shakes and fries in a no-nonsense establishment in the Platt Park 'hood since 2009.
Burgers is what they do best; grilling up all natural Harris Ranch beef, topped high with the finest ingredients, served between locally-baked buns that are exclusive to Park Burger. Â You cannot go wrong with their traditional Park Burger which is served with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle and burger sauce. Â If simple is not your thing, feel free to add your choice of cheese, hickory smoked bacon, haystack onions or even a fried egg all for about $1.50 each if you so choose. Â However, if you venture to their specialty burgers you will be in for a treat too. Â A favorite would be the El Chilango, a 1/3lb burger topped with creamy guacamole, spicy jalapenos and gooey cheddar. Â Another stand out is the Ahi Tuna burger; a house made patty that is seared to medium and topped with crunchy pickled slaw, guacamole and a zingy ginger-lime aoili. Â
What goes better with a burger than house-cut fries and might I suggest, an extra side of their delicious pickles. Â Park Burger also offers Parmesan truffle fries as well as sweet potato but they are mere mortals in comparison to the superior, perfectly salted, just crispy enough house fries. Â Pair your meal with one of the countless beers available (the majority of which are from local Colorado breweries) or a thick and creamy shake and you have a meal that will have you coming back time and time again. Â
Expect to see at least a handful of people standing outside the front entrance every time you visit as this place is always packed. Â Just last summer Park Burger took over the store-front next door to nearly double their indoor and outdoor seating space as business has been so good. Â A hot summer night or a cool winter afternoon, there is no wrong time to visit Park Burger as I know each visit will have me leaving happy and full.
Before arguing about the 3 stars, let me say that the burgers are one of the best in Colorado. The Scarpone is just amazing. Some people complain about the price, however, most of the bar charge $9+ for their regular burger plus $2 for each topping. At Park Burger you can get a excellent, juicy, messy, delicious burger for around $9. So the taste of the food is excellent.
One improvement regarding the food. They need to be more constant in with their quantity. The baskets of fries come sometimes half as full, and the small portions sometimes are not topped, or the fries are broken. The Buffalo patty is certainly not a third of a pound as advertised. It's more like a 1/4 of a pound.
Service is always great and very helpful, and the drinks are more then reasonable priced. Come on a Sunday and all the drafts (All Colorado beers) are $2.50. You can't beat that anywhere.
Ok. So I give it only 3 stars because:
1. I took a half a start because of the "food quantity" inconsistance explained above.
2. This place can be a crazy kindergarden. Is waaaaay tooo kids friendly. I have nothing against the kids (What do they know? :))) but when you combine this with parents with no common sense it can be a crazy show out there. Crayons, food everywhere, running around, throwing toys. If an accident happen is Park Burger liable for it?
When there are kids running around, and invading the private space of other tables I think the management should do something about, if the parents are to ignorant to educate their children.
Even after their expansion this place is always buzzing and is filled to the rim. Â I must admit that they do a heck of a business. Â A business that I have never been too impressed with. Â I have been here a handful of times and their food has never been exceptional enough to make up for the poor service that I have often times and regularly receive. Â With all the gourmet burger joints in Denver now, I'm not inclined to continue to come and pay upwards of $10 for a burger I could get at a handful of other establishments around town that provide a better experience. Â Especially when the servers and bartenders act arrogant and are unfriendly. Â That is not to say that all the servers are this way, however, on multiple occasions we have been treated rudely and with limited professionalism. Â
Generally if I want a burger, I feel I can grill up a pretty decent burger at home at minimal cost. Â However, there are times when I want to go out for a burger for the experience and atmosphere. Â In these instances, I'm willing to pay the premium for the experience and service. Â Park Burger does a good job on the burgers they provide, however, on many occasion, they have been lacking in the service and overall experience realm making the premium price tag unwarranted. Â I just don't get the hype of this place. Â If their burgers were that exceptional that I could neither make nor find another establishment that compares, I would tolerate unfriendly service and glaring eyes as we finish up our meals in haste. Â I get that the staff wants patrons out at 10 PM on a Friday night, however, when we are waiting on our server to bring us our bill or return our credit cards, don't give us the evil eye as if we were loitering intentionally. Â Just one particular gripe of many.
Very, very good burger joint.
With the new renovations, Park Burger on Pearl St. can accomadate for more customers, which is a big relief for those of us that have waited 30 minutes to get a table. Needless to say, it's worth the wait. I've had a variety of the burgers here, including the sliders, and they're all good. My suggestion would be to go during their $1 slider days, which is I think on Mondays or Wednesdays after 6. Three sliders and the required bacon/cheese/ranch fries, and you'll be one happy customer. Highly recommended.
Caveat: this review is purely for their hamburger (lettuce, tomato, grilled onions; zero cheese). I'd forget the rest of the burgers in Denver if their prices were more fair. Nevertheless, my burger was cooked as requested with very fresh ingredients, spiced and caramelized to near perfection.
Only HBurger and Little HBurger are as good in Denver!
This is a very nice joint with a decently priced gourmet burger. Â If you sit at the bar you can also watch the magic happen, it's mesmerizing. Â The burgers are extremely delicious, the fries are pretty good if a little soggy and there's a nice selection of brews. Â Definitely would come back.
Review Source:Had dinner here on Sunday night and it was a great time to go. Baseball and football games on the TV and we just so happened to show up during happy hour (half off drafts) - which is all day Sunday. I got the Glider Cider and loved it, reminded me of the great cider's I drank in London. The park burger is also wonderful, I just added cheese and that was all it needed. Fries are pretty great also. The burger baron recommended this place, and once again he is right!
Review Source:I really wanted to love this place, but......
Did my friend and I really just spend $50 + tip at a burger joint that gave us measly thin burgers with OK but bland toppings? Â Did we also spend $7 per cocktail that, while admittedly delicious, was 99% ice? Â Even if we had made it to happy hour, the $4 price would have been too high for about 4 swallows of cocktail. Â
To be fair, the food and drinks weren't bad, they just weren't great and certainly not worth the price. Â The patty might as well have come from McDonald's. As another reviewer mentioned, it truly wasn't as thick (and not much wider) than a slice of tomato. Â I ordered the El Mariachi burger which, from the description of "house roasted green chiles, pepper jack, chili-lime sour cream and pico de gallo" should have been a somewhat fiery and spicy Southwestern burger. Â So, how did they make it so bland? Â The chilies had ZERO spice, even when eaten by itself. Â Ditto for the rest of the burger. Â It might as well have just been covered in mayonnaise. Â In hindsight, I could have spent the extra $1.25 on jalapenos but it shouldn't have needed it - and I then would have spent $10 on a burger that is still just a thin McDonald's patty with some bland toppings plus jalapenos. Â
The Parmesan & Truffle fries were also just "meh." Â I wanted to love them and was really looking forward to them but the reality is that these tasted rather fake - like something cooked in a truffle "essence" (not made from real truffles) oil. Â Not bad but could easily have been much better. Â Had an almost chemical after-taste and not remotely like anything made from real truffles. Truly, it would have been better if they had simply sprinkled garlic salt and Parmesan on their regular fries. Â
At some point when I'm running errands in the area, I may well stop in again. Â If so, I'll probably try their barbecue burger and possibly their sweet potato fries as these get the best reviews. Â Still, I can say that I've spent far less money on bigger and better burgers here in podunk Bailey. Â That's just sad. Â I guess I'm finally admitting that the Denver food scene is more about being pretentious than any real quality of the food.
We tried to visit Park Burger several months ago, but they were closed for renovation. We finally made it back last week and it was great. Our server was very friendly and the food came out really fast. The happy hour drink prices are good. The parmesan truffle fries were tasty. I ordered the veggie burger and it was one of the best veggie burgers I've had in a restaurant. My dining companions ordered regular burgers and said that you could tell that they used high quality meat. We'll be back!
Review Source:We went to PB for the first time and was really looking forward to it, because of a great recommendation from a friend. Â
Our server was friendly and on top of everything. Â The food came out pretty fast, which was great because we were starving! Â
The burgers were ok. Â I expected better but pretty good. Â I thought it was along the same line as smash burger. Â Unfortunately the fries were way to salty to enjoy. Â Which was sad because you get a nice size basket for the price. Â It's a tight fit in there. Â Small tables and not much room for customers and servers to move around. Â I'm sure we will return. Â Will probably try a happy hour next time.
Had wanted to actually try My Brothers bar but they are closed on Sunday! Â Park burger seemed to be a nice 2nd option. Â I had the buffalo burger and it was awesome! Â We also got an order of the sweet potato fries which were delightful as well. Â They even had game day happy hour with half off drafts! Â I will say the patties were a wee bit smaller that I had imagined but none the less tasty.
Review Source:We went here yesterday to satisfy our burger craving. With the new expansion, Park Burger has provided more seating, including a larger patio space (where we chose to sit). The patio now has misters that let off a cooling spray to keep the temperature down on those hot summer days. We also hit it perfect for the afternoon happy hour, which added to the enjoyment of our Labor Day afternoon.
I decided to mix it up and went with the double burger with mushrooms and guacamole. My trusty dining partner ordered the BBQ burger, which always looks good. We decided to split an order of fries, which came out super fresh and hot from the fryer.
For happy hour, I decided against the usual beer and went with the Tan Line cocktail; a mixture of vodka, freshly muddled basil, cucumber, and orange. It was actually super tasty and quenched my thirst on the hot September afternoon (and for $4, I definitely could not complain).
If you are in the mood for a super fresh and tasty burger, Park Burger is your place. And now that I've tried their cocktails, I can attest that they are just as delicious. Enjoy!
After listening to my brother and sister rave about this place for the last year I decided I had to give it a shot... Â I have to say I was extremely disappointed! It's not that the food was horrible or anything, but it certainly wasn't good, not to mention the fact that it was extremely overpriced!
I ordered the Royale (caramelized onions, blue cheese, and bacon) with sauteed mushrooms and A1 sauce -- My favorite way to eat a burger. Did I seriously pay $10 for a hamburger with a patty smaller than McDonald's? Shame on me! I should have checked their website before I wasted my hard-earned money, even on their website the main picture shows a hamburger with a patty that is thinner than the tomato slice directly above it. I ordered a hamburger with toppings, not toppings with a little side of dry bland meat. Also, the bun was crumbly and completely broke up on me. The only redeeming factor in the meal were their fries, which were quite tasty, and the only reason I'm giving PB 2 stars instead of 1 star...
Needless to say, I shall not be back. There are plenty of other significantly better and cheaper choices in the area.
Hmm...pretty good, but I'd say a bit overrated. Â Anecdote to follow.
Breakdown:
-Burgers are quite delicious.
-But not med-rare as advertised.
-Surprisingly good beer selection.
-Nice, shady patio.
-Toppings are varied and delicious.
-Service was pretty bad.
Two things made the service bad: Â First, the waitress corrected me as I was explaining to the girlfriend that St. Lupulin is an IPA. Â "No, it's more like a Pilsener." Â
The waitress, if you're reading this, technically, it's an extra pale ale, but it's certainly not a Pils, and it's rude to correct me, and just plain insulting to correct me with bad info. Â She ordered it, and didn't like it, because she doesn't like IPAs.
Secondly, I brought my puppy, so we sat on the patio, and I tied him to the railing. Â However, he insisted on sneaking through the bars and sitting under me. Â Then, bro-manager came and scolded me for letting him in. Â What the f do you expect? Â There's no other place to tie him and he fits through your railing. Â I put him out twice, but with nothing to stop him, he's going to keep coming back and looking for crumbs; he's a dog for Christ's sake. Â Bro-manager came back and told me that they could face a huge fine if he was inside. Â Again, he was rude about it.
So I decided I would do them a solid and get out. Â But, since the pint of St. Lupulin was still full, I had to convert it to a roadie and take it with me. Â Because losing their alcohol license is obviously a much less severe penalty than what bro suggested would happen if my pup were caught with his head inside the railing.
Thanks for the mobile pint, Parkburger!
Probably the 20th or 30 th time at PB. Â I told my wife this winter that expansion can help or hinder, i hope it doesn't hinder. Â Sadly, I think it is beginning to hinder. Â The food is still good, but they just changed the haystack onions to onion flavored flour strips. Â Seems to me they are sacrificing the food and service to expand.
The service has become terrible, 5 different people were serving us, and that was after 10,onute wait. Â Used to be they would have our drink order before our butts hit the seats.
I absolutely despise how many kids are brought to this place. Â It seems like every 5-6 person family is at PB, making me less interested in drinking a beer.
Speaking of beer, they do have a great selection, just too bad its at a daycare.
Forewarned is forearmed!
Food = Good and deserves 4-stars. but....
AVOID betw'n 5:30 and 8:00pm on Mondays (and maybe all week). Â I thought I was in McDonald's with all the kids. Â Seriously! Â It appears to be the happy-hour sliders that draws the unruly crowd.
The burgers are good for sure but next time I will get them to-go or come after 8:30pm.
NOTE there is adult-only seating in the bar area. Better yet the Highlands location, from my three visits, draws less kids during the week.
On vacation from San Antonio TX to Denver CO and looked up some burger joints in Denver. Â Park Burger came up so we checked it out. Â
We ordered two Park Burgers with cheddar cheese/jalapenos/guacamole and some sweet potato fries. Â Overall, decent burger. Â Issues were the bun was cold and broke apart easily on both. Â The meat tasted very salty which surprised me. Â Â
Service was great and the location was pretty cool. Â Pretty good selection of beer. Â
Probably wouldn't go back...just ok. Â Sorry PB...might have been a bad day. Â If the buns werent cold and brittle, I'd rate higher.
***Update***
Happy to receive an email from Park Burger (Peter) who offered me a gift card if I would give them another try. Â Because of this gesture, I am going to take him up on the offer. Â How can't I? Â That shows me they are concered about customer comments and that's a huge plus.
Love love love Parkburger. Â And the great news is that they recently (couple months ago) expanded the restaurant and there is tons of seating now, including a bunch more outdoor seating, which makes for a much faster wait time. Thank goodness!
They have shakes of the day and I can never say no to a milkshake. The burgers are delicious (including the veggie burgers!).
Pearl Street is one of the coolest places to visit in Denver and Parkburger is definitely adding its share to the cool factor.
The manager of the place was nice enough to invite me back to give them a second try after seeing my review, so I did. Â
This time, we sat outside on the patio during lunch. Â The place seems busier than the last time we went so I was a little skeptical. Â However, I'm pleasantly surprised with round 2.
To clarify, I didn't call for the manager until AFTER I finish my meal, just so I can have unbiased services.
The patio seating was nice, we're against the wall so we're in the shade while feeling the warm breeze. Â The waitress is way more attentive. Â Didn't have any issue about getting our water refilled. She also explained the menu to us very well. Â Throughout the meal, she came back and checked on us, and also brought us extra napkins and wet naps. Â
I did order a different burger this time (mushroom burger) and it is way better than the one I had before. Â I also tried their wings. Â They were good, but I don't know if they're $8.75 good.
All in all, I think Park Burger would be a good place to go back to for lunch or happy hour.
This place kills it when it comes to freshness. You literally cant pick an item on the menu that will not satify even the pickiest of fresh eaters!
When it comes to the service, I would have to say its a bit more of a pot shot than a no-matter-who-you-get they-are going-to-rock-your-table kind of scene.
Go for the food and the patio, not the people.
My husband and I went to Park Burger again today. Â The food was still excellent and the malt was much improved. Â However, we got less than stellar service. Â Our waitress took our order and brought us our malt. Â That was the last we saw of her for a long time.
Fifteen minutes after or so after we got there the table next to us was seated. Â Our waitress checked on them repeatedly and brought out their order of fries before ours. Â She simply ignored our table. Â Another staff member finally brought out our order and asked us if we needed anything. Â Rather than checking to see that we were happy with our order, our waitress came back to the table after we had finished eating and asked us how our food had been and then scurried off. Â Even though we had clearly finished eating, she didn't think to bring us our check. Â Some time later she returned to see if we needed anything and we were finally able to pay.
I love the food here to bits, but I'm afraid the waitstaff leaves much to be desired. Â I have no idea if the waitress had a problem with us for some reason, or if the people at the table next to us were personal friends, but I felt her behavior was very rude and quite unacceptable.
I have been putting off trying Park Burger for a while now. It's not too far from where I live, but I was stuck in the mindset of 'it can't be any different than any other burger place'.
Yes it is a burger place - but a great one - and I'm happy to add this to my list of go to restaurants in Denver.
Didn't feel like making dinner at home so we stopped by Sunday night. Split a wedge salad, had to special order burgers, an order or sweet potato fries AND parmesan truffle fries...and then we had to get ice cream comes too. What can I say? Everything on the menu looked amazing! And it was the perfect cure to a post derby/cinco de mayo extravaganza.
But the burgers were perfectly cooked, juicy, and came with a light bun and fresh veggies. Fries were hot, crispy, and just the right amount, salad was the perfect size, enjoyed the dressing, and the ice cream cones were a wonderful dessert.
Overall, I like this restaurant - the vibe, the open kitchen, the relaxed but buzzing atmosphere. Will definitely be back when my next burger craving hits!
If you're one of those crazy Denver-ites who hasn't been here yet, hurry. Â They make a damn good burger, with lots of fun toppings. Â While it's really good, I really feel like Park Burger's status as a burger utopia gets a bit overplayed. Â
Here's my breakdown:
The buns are fresh, warm, and not too dense. Â They fulfill my bun philosophy perfectly: light and fluffy and fresh, that serve as a vessel for the burger rather than distracting you from the meat and toppings. Â Great job.
The meat was good, but a bit disappointing. Â It's impossible to talk about Park Burger without talking about the Cherry Cricket, so I'll just mention that Cherry Cricket's meat is better. Â It was a tad overcooked, though.
Toppings- creative. Â A good variety, and they're really lathered on thickly. Â I had a guacamole burger (which far too often comes with a light brush of avocado), which was hooked up with a massive scoop of what turned out to be extremely tasty guac. Â
Great beer selection too.
I visited Park Burger again on April 18 during a quick trip to Denver, on a perfect spring evening.
The drinks and food were absolutely terrific. And by drink, I mean a pitch perfect Hendrick's gin martini up with 3 olives, which qualifies as a real adult drink! Â
I had an El Chilango burger which was great. The real star of the evening, however, were the Parmesan & Truffle French Fries which are truly out of this world.
The service was professional and great. I wish I had a Park Burger in my 'hood. This trip more than made up for the service issue I had in my first visit. This place has a true Denver North feel which is a great vibe.
Park Burger is definitely a great place to go for a really yummy burger. We decided to try this out because it made eater.com's list of 38 Best Restaurants in Denver. I can definitely see how this made the list.
Decor - Typical clean California style that is all the rage right now. Open/Bar type kitchen. It was nice, though, I'm kinda getting a little tired of this look, but that isn't their fault.
Mini Park Burger - Had to start with the most basic for a first trip to see the bones of the place. Really good burger with some interesting special sauce on it. The burgers came out really fast, which was nice since we were pretty hungry.
Fries - Super yummy and cooked well. Nice and thing, but not shoestring thin.
Service - Very attentive but not so much that it is bothersome. She was friends, around enough so if we needed something we could get her, and knowledgeable.
We really enjoyed this place and I'm looking forward to going back for a milkshake and burger.
It had been about a year and half since I had been to Park Burger...I was in the area so I decided to drop in. The expansion they did looks fantastic and definitely accomodates the droves of people who want to eat here. This review is more of a comparative review from the 1st year Park Burger was open and my experience last night.
When I walked in, the hostess greeted me and I told her I wanted to do a to-go order. I asked her about how long the order would take. She said it would be about 10 minutes (about right from what I remember). Now just to set the scene, the restaurant was full, but there was no wait to get a table while I was waiting for my to-go order. While the hostess said 10 minutes, it was more like 20 minutes. I also was not offered a seat at the counter nor was I asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. The servers were less than friendly to their tables (not mean per se...just not friendly) from what I overheard...and a particular pet peeve of mine is when servers auction off food at the table. I saw the food auction happen at least 3 different times. I can sort of understand if it were a busy Saturday night or the like...but it was just a Monday evening at 8pm.
But regardless...I stuck it out. I knew the Chilango burger and sweet potato fries would make everything better. It didn't...
I don't know what happened...but the quality of the food has SEVERELY suffered from what it was when the restaurant opened. I don't know if they switched meat suppliers (it used to be an awesome beef ranch in California that supplied the meat...but from the taste I don't think Park Burger buys it's meat from them anymore) or the cooks were different (the head chef had changed but the line cooks were still the ones I remembered)...but the burger was not a Park Burger caliber burger. The patty was quite flavorless and overdone (it was well done instead of the delicious medium it used to be). The sweet potato fries were almost too hard to chew and nearly burnt...and to top it all off I found a lovely long hair in my fry order.
It really saddened me that the food quality had suffered so much. I used to eat at Park Burger all the time. But it looks like the focus has shifted from quality to quantity. I won't be back Park Burger, it was good while it lasted.
What a nice find tonight. My wife had lunch here the other day and was saying how nice a place it was. Its a ways from our home (at least a 30 minute drive) but we decided it had been a nice day and that we could handle a little bit of a trip so I could go try the burgers. I am so glad that we did.
First quick seating. Atmosphere was okay kind of loud with a lot of ambient hum of conversations, the kitchen, and music you could only just barely make out. Had a hall like echo I guess. Â Maybe some sound baffles on the ceiling could go a long way. One noticeable feature that I actually really liked is that you can see the grill and
cooks kicking butt as orders roll in.  I like seeing who is cooking my food. Puts a human face on it  I suppose.
The decor was generally subtle mod, exposed brick sea-foam blue walls and bright orange chairs. Nice and not enough to make you think of the Miami Dolphins. Â I do think that the long bench on the main wall could have been a better design with 4 tops as it would allow for even more seating... but hey I was there for the burgers anyhow and not to worry about the table arrangements. I'm quirky about stuff like that sometimes.
Our server was friendly and attentive. Good communication and checked in with us through out the meal. Service itself was a little slow but not too bad. My wife said it wasn't so slow at lunch. We notice this more than some folks because our 3 year old gets restless.
As for the food and drink: Great beer selection. everything from bottles and cans to drafts. I also noticed they had some interesting looking cocktails available too. I had the Royale Burger and it was GREAT! It's a bacon and blue cheese number that was cooked medium without them asking me and was prepared with some care in that the blue cheese was allowed to melt a bit on the burger. Some places just toss crumbles on almost seemingly as an afterthought. The bacon was crispy and generously applied. The bun was soft and the other toppings were fresh.
My wife had the tuna burger and that looked great! She says it was. All I could see was the uber-generous application of Guacamole. Â We shared a basket of sweet potato fries and our son ate every bite of his dinner too.
We will be back again!
We will be back
I visited this place a couple of days ago with a friend of mine for lunch. Â We got there at a pretty good time, since there were not as many people as I expected. Â I had the BBQ burger with bacon and my friend just had the Park Burger with pepper jack cheese. Â We shared a basket of mixed fries (sweet potato and good ol' fashioned ones). Â The basked was more than enough for the two of us to share, so that was a plus. Â
The fries were excellent and the burger was good, but the thing I truly loved was the bun. Â I know, right? Â It's not a bakery! Â I loved that bun like a French kid loves a croissant. Â That's what it tasted like to me, actually: Â a buttery, warm croissant that really just melted in your mouth. Â The bread alone was enough to make me go back for more!
