I've been a bad yelper. I have been meaning to write this review for over two months, (yikes I must now go back again!!).
Stopped in here on a recommendation from a co-worker who told us the food is amazing. We hit it up now on two different Saturday afternoons. Â Great atmosphere and for the most part good staff. Â We did have one younger waitress who seemed more interested in how good her tight jeans looked than if the customers needed anything, but ....
I would highly recommend you get the truffle fries. I could stop right there. Beer me and get me some truffle fries. Oh, but the burgers are fabulous as well. Â When my brother wanted a good burger and we were up that way we brought him there too, and he was NOT disappointed. Good beer selection, fun crowds.
Only dislike is the bathroom situation... not located well, and too small, but hey, you don't go out for the bathroom, right?
Get up here and give this place a try.
We stumbled in here after attempting to go to Steuben's but not wanting to deal with the wait. The only real issue we had that they took a very long time before acknowledging us. It would have just taken a mention of our existence to make us feel welcome, but it took a long time. Finally someone apologized and said it would be a few (more) minutes. At least he was very friendly.
Once we were seated the service was just fine, and we enjoyed our meals. We started with "The Works" fries which were covered in cheese sauce, ranch dressing, and bacon. Yeah, i know.
I had the croque Monsieur which was very tasty. And my companions each had a burger which they seemed pleased with. We were there for lunch and did not imbibe, but enjoyed reading the beer and cocktail lists. Sounded like some good stuff.
I would love, love, love a place like this in Longmont.
Have to say I'm a little disappointed with my once-favorite neighborhood hangout. Came here last night with a group of people, several of whom arrived about 20 minutes before I did and were told it'd be a 45-minute wait for a table (despite there being 3 open tables within their line of vision) and no one ahead of them on the wait list... so, upon hearing that, they decided to leave and check out Ace, which didn't look as crowded -- I guess the hostess overheard that and all of a sudden, a table became available and they were seated right away. Okay then...
Our sever was nice but clearly in a rush or just frazzled, but not the typical friendliness I've come to love (and frankly expect) in Park&Co staff. It took about 20 minutes for a couple of the appetizers to come out. The bacon-wrapped dates -- one of my favorites and which have always been delicious -- were barely warm (but still tasty); since they're usually piping hot, this felt like they'd been sitting around waiting to be served for longer than usual.
The rest of the food came out in a pretty random order -- I'd ordered a burger after several others had already placed their orders, yet one of my friends (who'd ordered before I had) was still waiting for several minutes to get her sandwich after the rest of us had gotten our food. This was something our server did notice, though, and her food came soon after that.
...which brings me to my own burger. Again, I'm still sad that the tri-tip steak sandwich is no longer on the menu, which was by far better than anything else I've tried here. I went for the bacon guacamole ranch turkey burger last night and was disappointed. Not just because the meat was really dry, but especially because the "guacamole" -- which appeared as a generous scoop on everyone else's sandwich -- was, at best, little more than a green film of avocado smeared on one of the buns. The bun was delicious, but unfortunately the most flavorful part of the whole sandwich. And they forgot the ranch (which my server brought when I pointed this out), which isn't a huge deal for a place just starting out -- but come on guys, y'all have been here for a while now and should know better than to send out a burger without any sauce.
Though I'd previously resolved to only drink away my sorrows here (and maybe once in a while indulge in the bacon-wrapped dates too), and though I appreciate that they change up their wine list pretty frequently, the cheapest glass of red available on the current menu is $8, which is a little steep considering there are at least a few whites available for a couple bucks less. Just sayin'.
So yeah, hate to do this, but last night was definitely not a 4-star experience.
