I'm giving this place a 4 out of 5. A 3.5 for the food and a 5 for the service.
I ordered a slice of pizza and one the Italian beef's. Instead of giving me the last slice of an old pizza, the owner asks if I would wait five minutes to get a fresh slice from the oven. I did and while we waited she and I chatted about how she makes the dough and the Italian beef herself.
The pizza was tasty but nothing mind blowing and the Italian beef is great, even better with hot peppers, but the bun the sandwiches come in is kinda cheap and not too tasty. I would gladly pay an extra dollar for a better bun if it were an option.
Overall a good experience but not amazing. Worth stopping before or after a sox game cause its close and it cheap.
I was looking for anew place to try in the neighborhood and when I saw this place had 5 stars and a large pizza was only 12.50 I was very excited. I feel the need to leave a review because I don't want anyone else to be tricked by the 5 star yelp review.
The pizza was completely bland. The crust was barely crispy and the tomato sauce tasted like they opened a can of tomato puree and dumped it on. Â There was really no flavor to the pizza at all, no spices, no salt, just tomato paste. It wasn't inedible, but when you live in Chicago there are so many better options.
I haven't had any of their other stuff so that may be what they got 5 stars for, but for a pizza, I would not recommend ordering from here.
