My boyfriend and I started yelping for a dinner spot off the Thruway around 7:30pm on a Sunday, lucky for us, the Peekskill Brewery doesn't close it's kitchen until 9pm-- and we were off! Through the lush, cliffy, scenic curves of Bear Mtn State Park. It was easy to find, right near the river and train station in a cool industrial building with lots of parking. Despite it being late on a Sunday, the place was still busy with a mixture of locals and out-of-towners like ourselves. The Yankees game was on while a bartender's ipod played, the ambiance was relaxed and the vibe was hip.

We were waited on by Dylan, who was super friendly and helpful, service was perfection; I ordered "Share the Rainbow", a Belgian White, my boyfriend ordered the "Flavor Saver" a Crossroads x Stillwater x Peekskill collab, which he loved. We also got a house-made pickle plate which has rustic, thick-cuts of pickled veggies, even celery! with rye bread toast (the dream of the 1890's is alive in Peekskill). If we weren't trying to get back on the road, we would have stuck with more beer and supplemental small plates. But alas we were there to refuel, I ordered the fish and chips, which was straightforward, the batter was golden and crispy but the fish not quite salty enough for my tastes--apparently they used dorado fish too which was an interesting step away from the typical cod or flounder. The fish itself was outshone by the chips, the best french fries ever: lemon parmesan flavored hand-cut fries. My boyfriend ordered the house-made bean and grain veggie burger, he really enjoyed the taste and texture of the burger itself.  The menu is well-suited for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike and the food is made with love. We love it when a restaurant clearly takes the extra steps to house-pickle, hand-cut fries, make their own veggie burgers, and batter their fish in chips with their very own beer.

We ordered two more half-beers each: I, the Amazeballs, my new PB favorite, a non-bitter or malty, hop-driven beer; And my boy, the Lower Standard, a true IPA, the lower alc. sister of the Eastern Standard, because he had to drive. The brewmaster is really on point, every beer we had was extremely smooth, it's not the arm's race for over-the-top hop flavor over here, the flavors are really sophisticated.

This was such an enjoyable pitstop on our way back upstate, hope you try it for yourself.

Both my friend and I agreed that the beer, meal and service was excellent! He had the smoked trout remoulade which he loved and I had the PB burger which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We both commented on how the fries were some of the tastiest we've tried. Service was excellent and the beer was solid especially the Share the Rainbow and CREAM Ale.

Let me first state: I love so much of what Peekskill Brewery is doing. My husband and I have frequented the place many times even back in the old location. The beer list was the huge draw here - amazing, especially for the Hudson Valley, which is sorely lacking in microbrew selections - so sick of seeing only Big Beer around here. The bar atmosphere was always casual and fun, but the food seemed too big for its britches. A $15 hamburger? It better blow my socks off, but it's just an okay-to-good burger. The last few times we visited the new location and noted a vast improvement: the Peekskill beer keeps getting better. I'm a huge fan of the Eastern Standard. However, that is the only good thing. I met my husband there with my daughter the other night - he was early so sat at the downstairs bar. We had a kid so were more than happy to go upstairs (the bar is 21 an over), but my husband noticed that the $1 oysters at the bar were $2 upstairs! And the very same beer was MORE EXPENSIVE UPSTAIRS. Who what now? Why does the upstairs crowd get the short end of the stick at the same time of day? Seems tailor-made to piss somebody off, and it did. It made me remember my utterly regrettable choice of the grilled cheese sandwich the last time we came, which was too greasy to even contemplate. A few bites and I felt ill. (However my husband's choice of the pulled pork sandwich was inspired - he devoured it). But we've decided that our latest experience will be our last: WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Please note: the staff were friendly and extremely helpful on all our recent visits, so no ill will toward them at all.

Good place. It has a bar area but also has a quieter restaurant area upstairs. I had the fish and chips, it was ok. I think the fish was so so, but was prepared well. The fries that have the lime and parm cheese are excellent.  The poutine was also exceptional.

This place was ok, nothing special.

I went mainly to try the beer. I had tried one at a beer fest and wanted to give more of their beer a shot. They had 13 beers on tap. We ordered three flights with four beers each so tried 12 of them total. None of them were outstanding. The simple sour is good, but far from the best sour I have ever had. It feels like they are trying too hard to have every different style rather than working to make what they have better.

While I was there, I decided to try their poutine.   For $12 I was expecting a decent portion that could be shared. I was wrong. It was a tiny portion and wasn't that good. I have had better at a diner for $5.I would definitely not go back for the food.

We went here for lunch today - four of us + baby.  We each got a flight of absolutely delicious beer.  Not only is the beer good but they offer a number of varieties.  My husband got two different flights with only one overlapping beer (and that's only because he really loved the Amazeballs variety).

We ate lunch in the upstairs room and were attended to by a very nice and attentive waitress.  We started with the wings.  I didn't have any but the others said they were good, though they could have used more sauce.  For our main courses I ordered the veggie burger (with salad instead of fries), while my husband got the pulled pork sandwich.  My burger was very good, though it fell apart towards the end, like all veggie burgers do.  My husband's sandwich was a bit dry but he loved the fries.  I was hoping to try one but before I could he had eaten them all...

This is a great spot and I can see making trips up here just to go to Peekskill Brewery. If this was closer to home I have no doubt we'd be making weekly trips here.

I just wanted to update my last review.  My wife and I went back to PB to try it one more time, maybe they were having a bad day or something.  I am glad I did!  First I want to give a shout out to our waiter, Brendan.  Definitely ask for him if you want great, friendly, honest and reliable service.  Second, Brendan recommended two different beers, one for the appetizer and one for the entree and he was spot on with the first and very good with the second.  Great beers.  We had the special appetizer; beef heart with poached egg and polenta, amazing!  Then we had the pork-belly sandwich, if you like bacon then you want this sandwich,  very good.  For desert we had a vanilla creme tart served like flan,  delicious.  We spent two and a half hours at PB and didn't even realize it.  We had a wonderful time there.  If PB can stay consistent with this service I am sure to become a regular.

The Peekskill Brewery is my (only) favorite thing about Peekskill. The beer is amazing and I can always find my seasonal favorite (currently the Midnight Toker) - and when I am torn on what to drink the servers are always knowledgeable and helpful to give you a taste before you order. Since moving to their new location, they are often busy and full, which is why I'm assuming people disliked their service. It does get very busy, and at times you need to have a little patience, but it is always worth it. I highly recommend the pot of pickles (but only if you LOVE pickles) The Brewery will continue to be my favorite townie hangout for a great beer and awesome food.

I've only been here once for lunch and needless to say I will not be back anytime soon. I am a resident of Westchester and I don't live too far from Peekskill. I pass the Peekskill Brewery all the time when I take the train out of Peekskill to go down to the city and one day I thought I'd give it a try. I went for lunch with my mother and it was such a let down. They seated us on the second floor to eat. It's very modern looking with a mediocre looking bar and an open kitchen. The lunch menu didn't have much to offer and that was my first disappointment. We needed up both ordering Rueben's which were terrible. There was no thousand island dressing or any sauce for that matter on the Reuben which it did not say on the menu. The corned beef was all of the fatty ends which we both had to pick apart to even enjoy. The bread was over toasted with hard burnt crust, and the sauerkraut was more like long pieces of pickled cabbage, really gross. And there was barely even any cheese or "sauerkraut" on it. It was served with thick cut french fries that were rather soggy. The water they had on a table in glass bottles had a funny taste, probably just poured right from the sink in the back. I don't know how their beer and bar food is, but trust me when I say DO NOT go there just for lunch.

First trip after reading a lot of hype, which was mostly on target.
The room was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting dark wood, dim lights and lots of TVs with ESPN. Instead, the second-floor restaurant was an airy, minimalist space with a high ceiling and painted in white. It was very inviting, as was the friendly staff.
As for the beer, I only tried the Shotgun Willie, a hoppy-citrusy mix that hit the spot on a sunny day. Definitely a winner, though many of the brews made on premises also sounded delectable.
As for the food, it's far from cheap (the signature burger is $15), but mostly hits the mark, like the Brussels sprouts wrapped in bacon accompanied by maple syrup. It was fine, but the portion was small. Eight bucks for six sprouts is a bit rich. I felt the same way about the $21 fish and chips, which came with but one fillet. The so-called lemon-parmesan fries lacked any semblance of lemon and the visible cheese did not leave an impression, though the fries were well-cooked.
The veggie pot pie, with such features as white beans and kale, though, was ample and flavorful.
Despite it being a brewery, this is a family-friendly place and there were a decent number of kids there including mine. However, there is no posted kids menu, though they will make plain pasta, chicken tenders or mac-and-cheese, if you ask. Don't think it would hurt their street cred if they actually posted those on the menu.
I would also ding the brewery for the languid pace in the kitchen, where we had a full-on view. There were 4-5 guys working the line, but there was a half-hour gap between the sprouts and entrees. They need to pick up the pace. The restaurant was far from crowded, so there were not excuses.
Still, this is a place worth returning to. They take obvious and deserved pride in the beer, but go to great lengths to ensure the food is not an afterthought. Not your typical pub grub. They just need to execute a little better.

The food was amazing. My fiance and I shared the cornbread skillet and the arugula salad, both were perfect. I had the porkbelly sandwich which I should have known would be too rich. It was very good but I could only eat about half. However, the hand cut fries were also really great. Good beer, good service, a really nice setting. I have no doubts that we'll go back.

If you're just going out to drink at a hip place- there is definitely nothing else like this in the area. Edison bulbs and a sleek bar loooove it.

BUT the food and service leave a lot to be desired. The only thing worth venturing out to eat here are the lemon parm fries which are phenomenal. unfortunately that's about it. and the service was basically non existent.

Long overdue first trip to the Brewery.  Sorry we waited so long.  Excellent dinner, including a perfectly cooked skirt steak with grilled radicchio (yum!).  Minimal but thoughtful menu.  Looking forward to trying again.  Oh and the beer was tasty!

I need to learn more about this brewer because he/she is doing some interesting stuff.  They had 4 IPAs on tap!  One, the Rye IPA, was quite intriguing, with assertive floral and grapefruit flavors that were unexpected for a rye IPA. I'm assuming that comes from the New Zealand hops that I haven't heard of before.  The stout also made with rye was quite good too, with a nice hop backbone.  During the brunch menu there were limited non-breakfast items, so we got the veggie burger and the pork belly sandwich.  They were what would be expected - a lot of fat on the pork belly, but the other flavors with it contributed to a winning whole.  Nice space with a great view out over the Hudson.

Alright, i thoroughly enjoyed this place and i would definitely come back here again.

so i came here with two of my friends on a friday night and we happened to get there right around six. it was not as busy at that time and we didnt have any reservations. We happened to get that last non reserved table so i would recommend make reservations before you go. the placed picked up around 630 and it was pretty packed.

I got a DReye stout and i enjoyed it very much. i would recommend getting it.

For appetizers we ordered the chipotle maple wings. wow! the wings were really well. they had a little crunch to them which i like.  they were done just right and had the perfect amount of sauce on them.

For our main course my two friends ordered the burger and i wanted to be different and get the fish and chips. mind you all the photos that are on yelp make all the entrees look pretty small and in reality they are quite big. the plates are big so it makes the food look really small. So if you are contemplating whether to go here or not because of the portion size i would not fret. the burger looked really good and i think i would get that the next time i go there. the fish and chips were alright. they were exceptional. i have had better but they werent the worst thing in the world.

my overall experience was very good and i would recommend coming here.

Higher standards, lemon parm fries, and good services both upstairs and down stairs. Living in the area it is my go to place with friends on a Friday or Saturday night, going back after work this weekend and I'm as excited as my 21st birthday (which i also celebrated at the PB)

Food was very good, service was very poor.   The quaintness of the original pb is gone.  Not that that is a horrible thing, but not what I was expecting as an original PB fan.  It's like they are trying to kick the menu up a notch, but honestly - it was a little bit lost on me.  The beer selection is drastically cut back and mostly only PB beers.  If they had more belgian style - i'd be fine with that, but their house belgian is about as belgian as a blue moon mixed with an IPA.

Went there for a few drinks in their "tap room" on a Sunday night.  Drink service was very slow, it was not that crowded and it took far too long to get a drink. The bar tenders seemed inexperienced. I had an order of the hot wings. They were better than average. They also have an extremely limited selection of liquor. They did not have grey goose kettle one or absolute I had to get some weird vodka. They also do not have Jameson which is going to be a deal breaker for me. The place is nice and there was no rif raf, but there are "hipsters" all over place. So if you are the type that wears square glasses and skinny jeans this is the place for you.

I'm going to give you 4 words to blow your mind:

    Poutine with boudin noir.

Oh yes my friends.  Fries with melted cheese curds smothered in brown gravy, topped with blood sausage.  I am not making that up.  You need this.

My, this place is AWESOME.  The house-made brew selection is large (and excellent, based on our sampling of, um, four different ones).

The food is ridiculous.  HUGE portions.  The wings, fish-n-chips and mussels also were outstanding.

Totally worth venturing to Peekskill for this.  Absolutely.

First time at the Pub level recently. I've been a bar fan for a while but had a reason to take some family out for brunch and I figured I would give it a try. First point to make, great server! Natalie was amazing. She made us feel like we were welcomed and made great recommendations. She even made up for a bad drink choice by one of my party. Not a bad drink, just ordered the wrong drink. She immediately noticed the poor choice and made a better recommendation.
The food was good. Seeing Chicken and Waffles on the menu is fun. Had I not experienced the genuine west coast version (Roscoe's) I would have had lower expectations. The waffle was a little tough and the chicken was boneless so the flavor was lacking. The rest of the party enjoyed a Caesar salad and Pork Belly Sandwich. No complaints.
The beers and the service drive up the rating!

    Update:

Peekskill's new location adds so much to the Craft Beer scene. Not only do they have a Tap Room (with snacks available) but a lovely restaurant above with a local seasonal selection of food. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and easy to approach.

Try the Poutine.  Also, enjoy a nice walk in the park nearby. This location is great for lunch, day trips, anything.  Bring your growlers!

A friend of mine introduced me to this place recently, and after going online to see what else they had to offer I saw they served dinner.  I love the whole brewery look and thought it would carry out into their food.  we decided to take a step up and made reservations last night for dinner to experience the whole brewery.

We started off with the house beer, a "Dream of the 90's", "Amazeballs" and "C.R.E.A.M" which were all very good and is only what I would expect from a brewery.

For dinner we went with the roasted pork sandwich, fish and chips, Mac n' cheese and the special kale salad they had for St. Patty's day.

The Roasted Pork Sandwich: OK presentation. traditional diagonal cut set over fries and a side of their gravy in a dipping bowl.  The bread was very good, the best part according to who ate it.  The pork was cut to an inch thick, including the fat along the edge.  Seemed to be a bit greasy for a roasted pork and unfortunately took over most of the pork flavor that could have been enjoyed with the onion jam.

The Fish and Chips:  Similar presentation. Beer battered fish over lemon parmesan fries. My first "no no" was the placement over the fries!!  I couldn't see the lemon or the grated parmesan cheese on them, and that's because the fish got the fries mashed and soggy. A shame, mostly because I would have liked to enjoy their famous fries a bit more. Now the fish, not seasoned at all, no salt, no pepper, not even the batter which in my opinion was more than what the fish called for(left it all on my plate).  The fish was cooked perfectly, although it seemed to have been boiled before fried in the batter.  Needless to say, i was disappointed with it, even though it isn't a seafood place, but simple seasoning makes any dish.

The Mac n' Cheese: Absolutely worth eating. I think this is their strongest dish. perfect amount of cheese, the RIGHT cheese to be honest, and how they do it right with finishing it off with a quick broil, DELICIOUS! and the perfect serving for dinner.

The Kale Salad: Not much to say about it. A wilted kale salad over (from what i recall) 4 crustinis, with mushrooms and grated cured egg. presentation was, well, wilted. I would liked to have seen the crustini tower over the wilted kale, not soggy bread under a warm salad. Would have made for a better presentation and enjoyment of the dish as a whole.

So to finish my review maybe a little suggestion.  I do think there should be a matre-d when first walking in to the brewery, as many new comers will walk straight into the bar, not the elevator, and get a feeling of darkness and no restaurant at all. The bouncer at the door, well, not very welcoming or communicative as to directing people either.  I admit they have a strong menu, but much needed review on how things are presented and finished in the kitchen(seasoning). If they can get those simple things corrected then it would make tons of difference. I will most likely only return to have the Mac n' cheese to enjoy the beer with friends, but not to have a $100+ disappointment.

WAY OVER PRICED. Portions too damn small. If you're gonna charge $14+ for a burger it better be big enough to be worth at least $9, or the guy serving it better be female, hot, blonde and topless....

Seriously this place was better before they moved. Even though the old place was cramped as heck and not too cumfy, its better the the new digs and even higher then already high prices that came with it.

New space is amazing! Brewery and pub on first floor, restaurant upstairs with view down into the pub. Nice job!

In for lunch. It was quiet, and service was perfect.

They offer a nice selection of in-house and outside brewed beers, all available in 5oz (which was perfect for lunch) tasters. I miss the vanilla bourbon stout, which was one of my favorites.

The pork sandwich was moist and delicious and I did my best to leave the crispy fries alone.

Be interesting to see how this all pans out on a busy night!

Came here Monday night for my hubby's birthday. I made reservations through opentable and made a note that I wanted the waiter to bring a dessert for the hubs whether he orders dessert or not. (I also requested that they sing to him - it would embarrass the hell out of him and be fun for me to see him turn beat red!) - I'm mean, I know!

Okay, so I'm upping my rating in the new location! It is the first time we've eaten here since they moved. First impressions - this place looks and feels great! The tap room/ bar area is on the 1st floor and the restaurant with a decent sized bar is on the 2nd floor. The elevator was closed so we had to walk up and flight of stairs to the 2nd floor.

We were seated right away near the window next to the balcony. The first thing I noticed were the cool lights - love the old vintage style bulbs!

Our waiter came over and took our drink order (a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon) - it was one of the best wines I've had in a while. We placed our order sharing the whipped feta/escarole crostini, i ordered the fish n chips as my entree and he ordered Mac n cheese as his entree.

The first thing to come to our table was a tasting spoon with some sort of pickled fennel and cured blood red orange (I believe). It was strange, I have to be honest. I would have much rather had bread than that, but whatever. The crostini was delicious and I loved my fish n chips with lemon parm fries. (The fries were so good) my hubby really liked his Mac n cheese - I sampled it at least 3 times lol it was GOOD!

When we were done with our meal our waiter came over and gave me a big wink (hubs) didn't see signaling me that he was going to bring the dessert. He then brought the dessert menu over and like I figured, hubby didn't want dessert. Within a few min our waiter and 1 other server brought over a chocolate terrain (I believe that's what it as called). It was very rich and yummy. I was a bit disappointed they didn't sing and embarrass him but he was happy.,

When the bill came the dessert was not listed so it was on the house. *brownie points* not many restaurants will comp you a dessert on your birthday, so we though that was very nice of them.

Once we left we went down to the bar for 1 round of drinks (and bc I 'Checked In' on yelp I had a $1 off a pint of beer) Awesome!!

    My gripes are:
    - having to walk up the stairs bc the elevator was broken ... Yes, I love being lazy when there is an elevator.
    - the menu is a bit limited - it seems to have gotten smaller since the location switch- -- the portion size seemed to have shrunk

Overall we had a wonderful time! I can't wait to go back!!

We finally came to the new space on Friday night and it's great! I love the two floors and the new menu is delicious as well.
We had a made a 7:30 reservation and I reccomend you make one too, at least on the weekend evenings as there was a wait for people who didn't have one.
The downstairs is the main bar area, very cool looking and MUCH more open and larger than the old space.
Upstairs is the main dining space, but they also have a second bar which is right by the door when you walk in. They are wheelchair accesible as there's an elevator to the second floor.
The wings now are the full wings so just a heads up if you're ordering them to split (4 come to an order). The pretzels were also delicious and the mac and cheese is SO good. I think it's easily splittable as it's super rich (especially with all that BACON!!!).
We were way too full for dessert but maybe next time. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious so we'll be back very soon.
They also do brunch on Sunday's now...yum!

    CONTEXT:
Peekskill Brewery has always been around.  Its former location was always sticking out at the corner between the parking lot and the Peekskill Metro North station just beckoning visitor's to come in.  But, I sadly did not go inside.

Last Friday, I finally summoned my courage to go inside the new Peekskill Brewery (PB) and its new location.  I was not disappointed.

PB is currently in its soft open stage, so not everything is open at the moment.  But, once you walk inside its immediately sectioned off by building.  The first floor is the bar area and the second floor is currently the pub and restaurant.  Its very easy to move from bar to restaurant and each section has its own flavor.

After a lot of indecision, I finally made the command decision to sit down at the pub for dinner.  I was immediately served by the bartender, Brandon, a menu and was asked for drinks that I wanted.  I ordered a PB Burger (apple wood bacon, onions, garlic aioli, and fries), $15.  A solid menu item.

    IMPRESSIVE THINGS AT PB:
    * neat beer glass cooler contraption
    * free samples
    * available growlers
    * candlelit tables make for a nice family get together
    * HUGE variety of ciders on tap.  I have NEVER seen a restaurant with FIVE ciders on tap.  As a big hard cider guy, I was in awe.
    * Downstairs at the bar, they have water and lemon coolers on the side, so you don't have to be that annoying guy asking the bartender for water when you're ready to wind down your night.   Classy.
    * wooden barrels as tables, kind of reminds you of a old western saloon

    ATMOSPHERE:
Most of the people here on that Friday night were in their late 20's or early 30's.

    The new brewery is AWESOME!

It's now located adjacent to the bakery and across from the spill-lot for train parking.  Its now two floors with the third and fourth still being renovated.  (I'm hoping they do a nice party room/dance floor, which I hear is in the making anyway.)

First floor is a huge bar with taps and a view of the river.  Behind the bar is where all the brewing takes place and is pretty awesome to think they make their own.  Tons of room now to walk and stand around.  Big barrels by the windows to chill and place your drink.  Second floor is where you can eat--and cannot wait to try the new menu and some dishes here next time.  I came late so my friends and I missed the kitchen hours but lookin forward to next time.  I recommend the hard cider or the hard pear cider; it comes in a large bottle and for 14$ i was able to get three wine glass amounts out of it.  Totes worth the price.

Great atmosphere, roomy and beyond knowledgeable bar staff!

Just ate in the new space on Xmas Eve. The new space is lovely. Looking at the layout, I expected the noise level would be loud but it was pleasantly surprised. A normal conversation could be enjoyed.
The dinner was marvelous. I had the smoked trout salad (terrific). My main course was the vegetarian selection, a delicious lentil and curried winter vegetable ragout. Dessert was a marvelous clementine creme brûlée. Zeitgeist was our beer selection.
Still my favorite destination for fine food in Peekskill.

I'm so glad that the Peekskill Brewery exists!  It's an excellent go to spot for me when I'm home in Garrison, NY.

Being a vegetarian, I always go for the PB Bean and Grain Burger.  I wouldn't say the BEST veggie burger I've ever had, but still quite good.  The first time that I went it was more about the mushrooms (which I loved), and the second times it seemed more about the chickpeas (which I was surprised about!).

Fries are excellent, and they have a great beer selection!

I agree with Mark K., I must be missing something.

My husband and I ate here after a day of mountain biking at Blue Mountain.  We were starving and in search of good food and beer.  We just moved to NY from WI, and after commenting to a co-worker about the lack of beer culture in NY, this place was highly recommended.

Maybe I have higher expectations given the prevalence of craft beer & brew pubs in the midwest.  But, we were highly disappointed.

The beer selection was limited - with a skew towards heavily hopped brews.  There's nothing wrong with lots of hops, but I think brewers must be able to demonstrate the ability to brew a range.  Its not that hard to add a bunch of hops to a beer.  I got the beer described by the waitress as a 'dark wheat' and my husband got one of the IPA's.  The IPA was a typical American IPA, nothing special. My 'dark wheat' was really smoky and also had a lot of hop aromatics and bitterness - and a flavor my husband described as 'burnt rubberbands'.  We decided not to try any others.

My husband and shared two sandwiches - the grilled cheese and the homemade veggie burger.  The grilled cheese was horrible - the bread was completely burnt and the cheese also had a burnt flavor.  Both left a bitter taste in the mouth.  We didn't finish it.  The veggie burger was good, but nothing special.  The fries on the side were greasy and not crispy.

Maybe I'm resorting to midwest mentality again, but $13 for an unedible grilled cheese and $12 for a 'so-so' veggie burger just seems overpriced.

Okay-What am I missing here?  I see all of these wonderful Yelp reviews about the food here but that was not our experience.

I went to dinner here with my wife and 2 children. The hostess was so very pleasant and allowed us to sit at a table next to the bar even though our 2 young boys were with us. Our kids insisted on sitting there as the dinning room seemed kind of boring and quiet but even my kids knew the bar was the place to be. Our server, Carrie, was fantastic and treated us very well. There are also a bunch of big screen TV's to watch the local games.

So far so good right? Well, I didn't realize that great service and energetic atmosphere would not translate into a good meal. We ordered the steak, fish & chips and mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was very good and my boys finished it but the steak was full of fat and flavorless and my fish & chips was very ordinary at best.

We had 2 beers that were Peekskill Brewery "brews" (for us parents, not the kids) which were good. The Shirley Temple's they made for the kids were not bad either.

The bill surprised me as well. We had 1 streak, 1 fish & chips, 1 mac ' cheese, 2 beers, 2 kids drinks and 2 kids ice cream desserts and with tax and tip the bill was $96.00. I normally would not complain but the food was just not worth it.

If it wasn't for the great service and atmosphere this would rank 1 star.

I would recommend the Peekskill Brewery for a fun time at the bar only but we will not be back for dinner.
