Great hookah, natural coals, owner and severs are very friendly! They take time to sit and talk with customers. Â Not many places in CT or MA have bubbles but Petra does! Comfortable atmosphere and reasonable price. Go for the real fruit hookahs, very smooth and you get good draws every time. Must try!
Review Source:My first impression of this place was that it was kinda small but I thought it gave it a quant feel to it. The food was okay I mean I only had fries which were just okay. They didn't have a lot of what they had on the menu and we had to change our order many times until we picked something they had. I've worked in a lot of food places and not having anything on the menu is a very bad look. i mean one or two things fine or even if it was the end of the night and you ran out okay but the night was young and they just didn't have anything. Anyway, the hookah was good. They had many good flavors at a reasonable price when you come as a group. The coal guys replaced the coal when needed, except they wouldn't smile even when we tried to joke with them and one of the guys put more coals then necessary making us that he wanted us to hurry up and leave. We met the owner who was nice. The place had a very 'chill' feel to it which i liked. However, the music really killed my vibe after the owners wife changed it because it was to loud. The people who go there I'd say are old high-schoolers or college kids in large groups and then a few older people who seem to just come for the hookah and maybe the food. The only really good thing about this place was the waitress who was the amazingly nice and did everything she could to make us have a good time. It was my first time at a hookah bar but as far as my experience went, it wasn't as amazing as I know it could've been.
Review Source:This was my first time in a Hookah bar so I didn't know what to expect... however... I'll never go there again and will tell everyone about my experience. Â (I will try a much better Hookah bar at some point though) Â My first clue should have been when the sign said 18+ at the door. Â I'm 33 and was the oldest one in there! Â The group using the owners reserved section in the front were clearly over intoxicated and one young girl passed out creating quite a scene leaving blood on the floor (which the just covered with paper towel) Â They added a tip to my party of 4 which I found very odd. Â Too bad for them since I'm a fabulous tipper! Â The hookah itself... well I have nothing to compare it to. Â But I wasn't impressed. Â I really thought I would get something out of it but nope.... absolutely nothing! Â It actually killed the buzz I had from wine at dinner. Â This place needs to be shut down. Â Worthington Street used to be a much better place to go!
Review Source:Not good. Sad because atmosphere is nice, waitress not so much.. Asked multiple times for the coal guy to change coals, didn't then asked the waitress still didn't. Disappointed. She pretty much told us to pay more or leave  and we tipped very well before hand. Never will go back nor recommend..
Review Source:I liked the atmosphere of the place. It's in a bad location. Waited over an hour for a booth. The waitress saw us about probably three times that night. The bill was outrageous. Funny thing is the waitress lied to me about pricing an when I went to pay I made sure the manager knew I was not happy. He took off the gratuity from my bill and the fees the waitress lied about. After that I'm going to another hookah lounge. Never again at Petra
Review Source:Insulting. Waitress added a nearly 22% gratuity to my bill.
I complained about it to get a sympathetic manager who said he would remove it. I told him to keep it, they'll need it if they continue doing business this way.
I'm glad I went alone on a lark, now I know not to bring my friends.
Avoid at all costs! Â First of all- as theres an ad for their Group On certificates here - I would like to warn you not to buy it- as this business will find any reason not to honor it. Â The Group On terms are quite clear but they from the start refused to accept it.
Its sad that Western Massachusetts doesn't have a decent hookah place but you are much better off making a hookah at home than going here. Â Go online and watch an instructional video if you don't know how.
I have been to many hookah places all over the US and in the Middle East and I have never been treated in a ruder manner than at this place. Â You go to places like this to relax and have a good time- not to be treated badly. Â
The hookah was terrible and the prices were inflated. Â Charging more for mixed flavors is a joke and they charge almost double to do so! Â Its like a burger place charging you for ketchup! Â That said, charge what you want- but at least make it good! Â I don't know if they do not know how to make a hookah or if they just do not care to try to do so-- either way I hated what I got.
The wait staff was decent but clearly didn't know about hookahs much. Our waitress was really pushy about adding fruit to our hookah- as I've had probably a thousand hookahs in my life- I know that fruit is a novelty and doesn't add much to the flavor. Â I insisted that I didn't want it and it almost turned into an argument. Â I had to say "I don't care- charge me for the fruit - but I do not want it!"
Ridiculous!
Also, I totally do not know how they are legally open. Â The state of Massachusetts allows for smoking establishments ONLY if they are retail businesses and do not serve food or drinks. Â This place clearly violates this. Â (The law is available to read online if you want to search for it.) They do not list their food on their website- so maybe they are just being covert about it. Â Either way, they are lying to someone.
To be clear- I love hookah places and I am all for businesses coming to Springfield-- but this place is terrible. Â I made the mistake of giving them my business but I hope others learn from my mistake.
