Got the PInocchios Special for takeout. Â The pizza wasn't anything special. Â I've had much worse and I've had much better.
The pizza is super thin crust. Â Nothing special about the sauce, cheese, or other toppings.
Due to a coupon we had, we also got a free order of their cheesy garlic bread. Â It wasn't really cheesy nor did it have much garlic on it. Â
I would order from them again, but after I try other places first.
we ended up here late last night/early this morning for the night ender. it's your standard pizza/wing and american food stop. i tried a few items on the menu, and i enjoyed all of them.
though they were your basics, it came out promptly, hott, and to my liking. i had a few apps; the mozz sticks, jalapeno poppers, a pizza puff, the chicken wings, some waffle fries. i love me a good waffle fry. i'm a sucker for 'em.
props/kudos to the staff. they're very friendly. i'll be back for the gyro. and the pizza. and the mac n cheese. so look for my update on that.
Somehow, we stumbled into this place for "pizza by the slice" after a late night drinking bender. Â I'm not sure what I really experienced here...but it was odd. Â Just leave it at that.
The PBTS was over priced, $3.50 per slice and tasted like something that came out of a grocery freezer aisle.
I cannot tell a lie: I love Pinnochio's. I've ordered from them twice now and both times were better-than-average delivery experiences. Free delivery; no minimum order; and they were lightning fast. We've ordered from places closer to us that didn't deliver as fast. They delivered well with-in thirty minutes from our order.
The food is decent for the price; but the fries are above average. Crispy-on-the-outside, mushy-on-the-inside seasoned waffle fries, what?! This has become my go-to greasy food joint.
So the reason I decided to order from this place is because they delivered a few coupons to us last week. Not always the best reason to order a pizza but we just wanted to try a new place.
So I wasn't completely disappointed but I don't think I'll order from this place again. I really couldn't pin point what was wrong with it but I have feeling that it was the sauce. It definitley had way to much oregano but there was something else not right about it. Again that's just my opinion. Also no free pop with your order.
If you like thin and crispy crust then you might want to give this place a try. Go with the 16" because the 12" won't do for more then 3 people.
Glad to have this place in the neighborhood!
Free delivery and the sandwich deals are good. Â i had the BBQ Beef sandwich which was tasty, especially the pickles. Â The fries were ok, maybe a little soggy. Â I also had an order of the cheese bread, it was good.
My girlfriend had the gyro which she liked with Mac and Cheese side order. Â That is a great option!
A can of soda came with the deal.
Please realize first and foremost that this place is for some reason named after a bedtime story. I never figured out why yet this fact continues to fascinate me. Second note that it stands by Chicago's pizza when it comes to awesome late night hours of delivery. I can't say that they have great food- I can say that what I've tasted was better than average and has gotten me to patronize them more than once. I can say that their Gyros are great, their pizza is better than run of the mill- I can also say that despite the "disaster fries" in theory sound mouthwatering- it unfortunately doesn't work out so well in person.
If you want to try it out- try ordering out or delivery. I've eaten in twice the wall decor is strange to say the least and homeless men have a tendency to wander in and out. Also I'd like to know if I'm the only one who has noticed the manager walking in and out of his office with a seemingly stuffier nose each time yet a more and more overpowering demeanor with each visit. I suppose someone's habits (Please know I am assuming this- and if he doesn't partake in this particular extracurricular activity he should be aware that he gives off the impression he does) has little to do with their food so back to my point. Try them out- see what you think. Don't get disaster fries but they can rock a mean freaking Gyro.
We missed the final order for Nancy's Pizza so decided to try this place. Â They had left a menu on our steps and we were willing to try something new. Â Very disappointed. Â First, the pizza is not cheap. Â We paid $19.25 for a 16in thin crust, meat lovers pizza. Â Bland, bland, bland. Â The "cracker thin" crust arrived soggy with no crunch whatsoever. Â The sauce was flavorless, the cheese was just a congealed lump of processed mozzarella. Â The Canadian bacon and the bacon were flavorful but the pepperoni and sausage might as well have been left off. Â We used the coupon for a free 12 inch pizza and paid an additional $1.75 for pepperoni-again-couldn't even taste it.
We paid $2.00 for delivery so with tip it was a waste of $25.00. Â We would have been spent half as much and had a better meal from Pizza Hut. Â Or maybe we should have taken Kori's suggestion and tried the Disaster Fries!
I'm so excited to be reviewing this place. This is an absolute GEM.
Free delivery and no minimum order. The menu consists of comfort food like pizza, polishes, gyros, philly cheesesteak...all the Chicago favorites. What I love most is that you have the option of fries or mac & cheese as your side. Oh and do yourself a favor and try the disaster fries. They're awesome.
The are open until 2am  seven days a week and they deliver the whole time.
so....what are you waiting for? Go. Call them now! :-)
