My coworker had lunch there soon after they opened and her falafel was dry and cold so we thought we should give them a second chance today. I ordered the falafel sandwich and the falafel were cold and dry. My co-worker's, however, Â were hot, moist and fresh from the fryer! She was even offered sauces on the side, I was not.
I also ordered a samosa, just to see what it was like (their menu has an identity crisis, they are also now serving fried chicken and biscuits) and it was good but it was too greasy and I basically just at the middle section.
About halfway through our meal they burned something in the fryer and the place started filling with smoke. I couldn't stop coughing and neither could a person at the table behind us. The staff stared at us. We threw out the rest of our food and got outside where we could breath again.
I will not return.
Very disappointing addition to the South Loop dining offerings. Â As a property owner only a few block south of this restaurant... I wanted to like it. Â Oh well... Â Very overpriced... food was tasty enough... but customer service was clueless! Â Went to pick up our "eat-in" order. Â Was handed the two entrees on a flimsy, too small tray and the pita and condiments in another basket... NO SILVERWARE included on the tray... got the tray to our table... went back up to forage for the plastic silverware ... got them got back to the table only to find NO NAPKINS... Â went back up... think napkins were near the silverware... NOPE... one has to ask for them behind the counter.... Hmmm wonder why they wouldn't just be included with any order... particularly dining in? Â We'll probably give them a few more months to hopefully work out the kinks... then maybe try takeout.
