The food is amazing!  I love, love, love Pizano's pizza.  It's all in the crust.  Now to move on to the most spectacular part of Pizano's...their service!  The service staff are attentive without being overbearing and the manager, Nora, she is wonderful!

Did not enjoy it at all. The thin crust was very hard and crunchy. Bland pizza sauce. The bread that came with spinach artichoke dip was very very stale.

I like Pizanos pizza, but only their deep dish, not a huge fan of their thin crust. The pan though is good. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, especially their sausage, which is really yummy. The service is fine, it's a pizza joint, not too many frills. This location is walking distance from our apartment so it's a good local place to go, cannot say I would reccomend anyone going really out of their way to come here, but there are locations for pickup allover the city. Also, cheesecake is a random thing for a pizza joint to do well, but it's really good!

Thin crust pizza was delicious, might have to say better than Lou's.  I'll have to go back and try the deep dish.  Mimosa's were only $3.

I went here on Saturday as part of a large group (we all ordered off the menu) and the food was good, but not extraordinary.  If it was my local Italian restaurant I would be happy, but I certainly would not travel all the way to the city to dine here again.

The waitresses, service staff and manager(s) were very nice to deal with, pleasant, and helpful.  Wait times for our food to come out were, as to be expected with two table sizes of 14+ a little long, but each of the tables food were all served at the same time and piping hot.  Kudos to the kitchen staff to coordinate all the meals to come out that way!

But again, in a city like Chicago, 'good' Italian restaurants are everywhere and this one fits that bill.  If you live nearby, give them a try, but if you drive a distance to come here, you're probably passing others that are just as good if not better along the way...

I love trying new restaurants and after the buzz I heard about Pizano's I was excited to try it out.......and thus sorely disappointed. The best thing I can say about this place is its decor (5 stars).    The service was average (3 1/2 stars) They have several microbrews on their list but the server did not know his beers and could not describe them well or suggest a good one.  They must have asked me 5 times throughout dinner if I wanted another beer, I only wanted one.  I don't like overt salesmen as my servers.  The food (1 star), we ordered wings which were nice and crispy but a bit dry, I prefer my wings saucy not just dry rubbed.  Also ordered thin crust pizza which was bland. The crust is very crispy like a thick cracker, has good flavor but the texture is all wrong.  The sauce is flavorless, as if they just opened a can of diced tomatoes and put it in the blender and called it done. We won't be coming back, there are several better places in the 'hood.  Wish we'd gone and spent our money there.  Oh yeah, the prices are super expensive $37 for one beer, wings, and a medium pizza that fed 2 people. (the menu says it can feed up to 3 but that would be a stretch).

I had won a silent auction that was held by Elements Ballet and won a $50 gift card.

My girlfriend and I decided to go in and give the place a shot.  Because i hate typing out reviews I am going to keep it short and sweet.

The hostess was great.  When we we're sat at a two top the waitress made note that we had ordered a lot of food and suggested we move to a larger table.  A suggestion I appreciate.  The garlic bread was very nice.  The calimari was too heavily breaded for my liking but good none the less.  Our main courses were as good as could have been expected for the price as well.

I'm a sucker for holiday cheer and the dining room was warm, comfortable and well decorated.

The whole staff was very attentive and clearly worked as a team.

Our waitress was friendly, engaging and fun but knew when to leave us to chat amongst ourselves

At the end of the meal she boxed our foods and brought us a complimentary dessert that was certainly unneeded but very welcomed.  I wish I could recall her name but we ate on Monday 12/18.

The manager made sure to stop by and check on us as well.

    You've got a fan here.

Note:  I rate establishments based upon their being the best they can be at what it is they are trying to be.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  I think it's important that the Yelp community bare that in mind.  You can not expect fine dining service at Pizanos.  Randolph Avenue is a different story.

I kept waiting for it to get better.  Save your money.  Get a frozen Red Barron's.

The service and the decor were nice.  But the food was unimpressive.  The server said the "house Italian" was a big hit.  I don't know with whom, but it tasted like it was from a bottle.  Nothing special.  The salad was fresh, but unremarkable as well.  I had spaghetti with meat sauce.  Yeah, but sometimes you just want some basic food.  Anyway, it was mediocre.  No flavor.  No seasoning.  Some salt (something I seldom add since most places have no restraint when it comes to salt) helped, but it still tasted like ground beef and a couple tomatoes.  But the bread was pretty good.
Maybe their pizzas are better, but I doubt I'll ever find out.

The pizza is yummy. Unfortunately the chef made the wrong one. The service is okay, not great. It seems like they know they are messing up the dining experience but continue to be less than satisfactory. It seems like a good place to bring kids. Overall after I redeem my free coupon I will be unlikely to return. There are too many excellent pizza places in the city to go to an a-okay one.

Pizano's Pizza tastes very good....that will account for the 1 star.  After that, it ends quickly.

1 large pizza (more like a medium), 2 ingredients, a house salad, and wings...total bill for delivery, 56 bucks.  This barely fed 2 adults.  The salad, for 9.50 was all iceberg lettuce, 3 cherry tomato's, 3 thin slices of cucumber, 3 black olives and 2 rings of red onions...I bet there wasn't 70 cents worth of ingredients in this salad.  What a rip off.  I know they are in business to make a profit but the price is 30-40% higher than many of our other options.  Pizano's, I'm out!

Delicious pizza and toasted ravioli tonight! Plus amazing dessert! And great service always helps too. Good atmosphere, would recommend! Good date night or night out with friends.

Worst pizza ever! I can't believe that anybody would honestly like this pizza...way over priced, no flavor and a horrible thin crust texture. The chopped salad was equally as bad. Please save your money for real pizza places such as Coal Fire, Piece or Santullo's.

If I could give this zero stars I would.  I just paid $41 for an inedible pizza!!!  Literally feel like I just got robbed.  Outside the fact that they took over an awesome corner in Wicker Park with their cheezy signs, the PIZZA SUCKS!  The think crust was made in one of the thick crust pans, was hard, the only thing that had "flavor" was the sausage and it was PINK!  WP friends unite...let's get this shithole outta the neighborhood.  Ban Pizanos today!!!

So disappointed in this place and was so excited another restaurant took the space of what was formerly occupied by Crust. Can someone please explain to me how in the world an Italian restaurant, not to mention a restaurant along Division street, doesn't have a kids' menu not to mention crayons or something----anything--- especially when you have white paper on your table (think Maggiano's)????????????  It was packed and you could barely move.  Yet, the main woman was circling. It was annoying. The food, eh, I agree, when there is Via Carducci (no kids' menu either but not the same type of restaurant). I think they need to pay attention to the customers. Not going back any time soon and so bummed since can walk there.

I'm pretty please I don't have to go to the State St location any more, since the new place is now walking distance from my house.  They have great thin crust sausage.  I can't comment on most of the rest of the menu since that is about the only thing I ever order from them.  Also, this one does not get as slammed as the one on State so it's pretty easy to walk in and sit down.

I came here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Harvey dish. Our waiter was nice enough but visibly stoned out of his mind. He didn't write down the order and then came back to the table twice to clarify. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. For close to 40 minutes. We were the only table in there folks.

When the food finally arrived, both orders were wrong. I had asked for the Chicken Parmesan with angel hair and Alfredo sauce. The waiter said no prob. What I got was a chicken Parmesan and chicken Alfredo on the same plate. Basically chicken with a side of chicken. Oh yes and we were charged five extra dollars for this.

My boyfriend's dish was missing the potatoes. When he pointed this out the waiter went to the kitchen to check. He then came back and informed us that we were mistaken. We had to get a menu ourselves and point out the dish does, indeed, come with potatoes. The waiter was blown away.

By now we just wanted a few bucks off the total and to go home. The waiter insisted on getting us those potatoes. To his credit he was apologetic, and he did throw in a free dessert. The only problem was we also had to wait for that to be made and by now we felt like we lived there. The desert was this huge pizza pan sized cookie with ice cream and whipped topping and chocolate syrup that the waiter chose. I imagine it is responsible for most cases of type II diabetes. An hour and a half later, we left, with some lonely potatoes in a bag. So yeah. Good luck.

Bluh. Overpriced and overrated.  I can't imagine who would have voted this the #1 thin crust in Chicago - they must not have taste buds.

Paid $20 for a "medium" thin crust pizza (2 toppings) that allegedly serves 3 and in reality was barely enough for 2 of us.  Not to mention that it had absolutely no taste.  Don't  waste your time trying this place - there are dozens upon dozens of better pizza joints nearby and around the city.

Really regretting that I didn't just heat up that Tombstone sitting in my freezer. And contributed my $20 to Pizano's hopeful research for a new pizza recipe.

I came here for lunch once since it's right around the corner from my house. Let's just say that the emptiness of the place should have been my first sign to walk back out. But I didn't listen to my gut and I was hungry so I stayed.

The second sign for me to get out of this place was the appetizer, or fried ravioli. It basically tasted like the sole of a shoe - or more familiarly a microwaved pizza puff from Jewel-Osco. I paid $10 for that.

I also ordered a blue moon on tap. It wasn't as bubbly as my usual experience with this beer and in addition to the staleness the bartender didn't even have an orange slice to garnish my beer.... that affects the flavor for me and it's not a great way to get a tip if you don't seem truly apologetic.

And now comes the pizza. In the menu - which is not only super old and dirty looking- the place claims it has won many awards for best pizza in Chicago, and had Oprah say it's her favorite pizza etc. Well.... I don't know about that because you can't even find them on the general list of pizza places in Chicago much less on more highly ranked reviewers lists.... so I'm still baffeled by where their award credentials came from because the pizza I had was not only reheated but also gave me a stomach ache later in the day and also had a funky after taste reminiscent of an old people home. Can I say instant regurgitation?

Only redeeming quality about this place?.... hold on give me a minute to think............oh! the pizza tastes a tiiiinyy notch bettter cold. ew.

Just listen to me, I know pizza, and this pizza is more of an old peoples cracker for soup than award winning food.

Neither the food nor the staff is attractive.

I live down the street from this place so my roommate and I went down to grab a bite at this place. We ordered the calamari appetizer and let me say this was the worst I've ever had. It was tough and doughy and at 11.25 I feel robbed. Theres' no way this didn't come from a plastic bag that had been sitting in a freezer for 6 months.

I ordered the lobster ravioli for my entree. Again, the quality was significantly lacking. I feel like this might as well have come from a can. My roommate had some pasta with shrimp and vodka  sauce. He's currently in the bathroom... from the sound of things it doesn't bode well.

Simply put, this was the worst dining experience I've had in this neighborhood or anywhere else for that matter. It was over priced, disgusting food.

In two words I would call this "diarrhea food".

I love Pizano's thin crust pizza and have enjoyed it for years at their other locations.  I have not tasted their pasta or sandwich selection yet. I'm excited a new location has just opened in my neighborhood.
The restaurant is decorated w/Chicago sports memorabilia and has a nice big bar. In the warmer season, there is outdoor seating. Pizano's delivers until 5am on the weekends!!  The pizza is great although more expensive than most.  I also think, for the price, more ingredients should be included on the pizzas!!
I'm a fan of this place and am happy to have a location nearby.

Stopped in for takeout and again to dine in. Service was slow at best - I waited over five mins to even place an order on the phone and then my wait time for ONE pasta takeout order was 40 mins. The staff was not apologetic at all and they forgot my bread, not that I'm complianing because the bread is horrific...tastes like a week old loaf from Jewel. Entrees were mediocre but not authentic Italian...nothing is homemade. You certainly don't get what you pay for - their prices are outrageous for how lackluster the food actually is. I also witnessed, on both occasions, an older woman yelling/screaming at her employees out in the open and I don't appreciate that as a patron. Good patio and music but not much else to draw one in.  I won't be coming back.

Ugh, gross. We ordered a thin crust cheese pizza and a pizano salad.... 0 for 2. The pizza was cold, tasteless and stale. The pizano salad was a bowl of rusty, yellow iceberg lettuce and a half dozen pieces of chopped vegetables. Completely disappointed.

Horrible experience - food AND atmosphere!

We live around the corner and loved Crust (and Settimana before that!) so we were looking forward to trying out the newest addition to the neighborhood.

I don't know what they were thinking when they designed the interior - they lost most of the floor space and crammed as many tables and chairs as possible into the one side.  Fortunately we had a booth toward the back, but the person sitting at the end of the table got knocked on his chair back EVERY time someone tried to squeeze by to get to the other tables.  They had tables everywhere - even against the back doors to the old patio - it was actually quite funny to watch guests try to squeeze themselves back there to get into their chairs.

The food was terrible - from the overpriced salad that looked like it came from a bag you could by at Jewel for $1.99 to the horrible salad dressing - come on, you should have some kind of vinaigrette - not just crappy fake Italian -  to the Spaghetti and meat sauce which was drowning in oregano to the tasteless pizza.  I have had much better frozen versions.

The wine list was a joke - of the 6-8 white wines, 5 were crappy Chardonnays and the others were watery whites - Would one decent Sauvignon Blanc be too difficult?

We spent $100 on the worst experience and certainly won't go back ever again.  It really is a shame because they had a great location with fantastic back patio, but there are too many other places along Division to spend our money and time.

As a New Yorker living in Chicago for 2 years now I don't understand the love of this very thin crust pizza cut into tiny little pieces. It just isn't a good pizza and I am not a fan.

Pizano's gets 3 stars because it is the best thin crust pizza I've had here. The crust is thicker than most places make it which makes it easier to eat the middle part of the pizza in particular. But we got the Rudy special (sausage, onions, peppers and mushrooms) and with all those ingredients the pizza was bland, which to me was due to the sauce. Pizza is made to have good tasting sauce with a nice amount spread on it. This sauce was not well made, so unless I took a bite out of one of the toppings, the pizza was boring without it.

The place in itself is cute but small and very cramped which made getting up with my ass in another tables face uncomfortable!

Chicago please stick to your deep dish or learn to make regular pizza the way it was meant to be made. Thanks.

First of all, while placing our order, we were treated very rudely on the phone. Then when we heard the price, 55 dollars for 2 pizzas. Ridiculous. This pizza is absolutely flavorless, and yes the thin crust is better than the deep dish, but not by much. The deep dish pizza was only a little thicker than the thin, and the crust was hard and tasted like nothing. This pizza was not good at all, and I would eat a frozen pizza any day instead of Pizanos.

Its in Wicker park, which has plenty of pizza places, in a town which has ( in my opinion) the best pizza in the US... Go here for the thin crust, which is semolina based, and cooked up crisp, but still sits a little thicker then most thin crusts.  This place is decent, but a bit underwhelming by chicago standards... I want my pizza so good I cry in it, thus giving me a salty tear topping...I had no salty tear topping, but it was still pretty decent

This place just opened a few weeks ago. I'd never eaten at their other locations but was glad a new pizza place opened in place of Crust (which my wife and i were quite a fan of and sad when it closed). We got a medium pan pizza. I thought the crust was wonderful, i didn't think it was hard at all. The sauce is up there for the best sauce i've ever had. They also have a full bar with pretty good beer selection. If you live in the area, give it a try.

We were excited to try a pizza at this new location. First time customers. We ordered a pan pizza, and the crust was flavorless, and hard as a rock. I mean, we couldn't even cut it! I asked our server for a serated knife, and she brought me the kitchen's knife, with like a 12" blade. Anyhow, we didn't like the pizza AT all. We love Lil Guys, Edwardos, Lou Malnati's. But the pizza here pales to these powerhouses. We would go back to try something else, but definitely no more pizza. Which is too bad, because they have a great location, and it's a nice restaurant. Just not the place to go to get your pizza fix.

It's simply the best thin crust pizza in Chicago, period.  When we heard they were opening a location right in our neighborhood, we were so excited you would have thought we won the lottery.  My wife lived across from the Pizano's on Madison when we were dating, and we ate there *at least* once a week for the entire time.

We always get the same thing: large half-mushroom, half-pepperoni with extra sauce.  We are never disappointed.

The have very solid pasta dishes as well if you're not in the mood for pizza.

Service was always spotty on Madison, and decent at the State street location.  After one visit to the Division street store, I would call it mediocre.  But the pizza is so good I can't even subtract half a star for service.

Hopefully they will flourish at this new location for a long time.
