I like this place, it's a chill, comfy spot to hang out with friends or on an intimate date. The music is good enough to just stumble in on. I've gone here to see a favorite band, and really enjoy the music venue! It's fun to people watch from that part of the bar as well. I'm usually in the mood for a good bar to just "hang out in," and that's exactly what this place is!

This is my favorite bar on 4th Ave. and after years of frequenting this place it never gets old.  Great bartenders that make awesome drinks, a nice laid back atmosphere (and yes even the furniture has grown on me) and a nice patio - in cooler weather.  Try their bloody marys they are fantastic!

I heard it. Clear as day. He called my name and I answered. He was tall, he was sexy, he was blue. In another life he may have been a carpenter but on this Dia de los Padres Muerto, he was MY Sexy Blue Jesus. Sweet, refreshing and oh so good! This coming from someone who doesn't particularly care for sweet drinks.

My DDD Crew and I were nearing the end of the tour and met up with some friends at Plush. A welcome escape from the heat, Plush is a great place to hang out.  Super obliging bartender made us what ever our hearts desired and knew exactly what I was looking for when I asked her to make me a non-sweet, non-margarita drink a little later.

Father's Day on 4th obviously isn't a happening, busy day but Plush was just busy enough to make us comfortable unlike our earlier stop further down the street where we walked in to a scene from The Twilight Zone.

I'm ready to come back to Plush and hear some live music. As long as my Sexy Blue Jesus will be there, I'm in.

The old Plush was one of my favorite spots on 4th Ave.  The laid back atmosphere it had with some greats tunes being played was always great.  It was a definite breathe of fresh air around the area.  Then I'm not sure what happened.

It appears new ownership remodeled the place and turned into an artsy hipster joint.  Just isnt the same.  Not really sure what type of direction they tried to take the place, but its not even close to the place it once was.

I hate to admit that I don't get to go out as often as I'd like, and sadly, not many places in Tucson entice me enough to say, "I GOTTA go there!" I've been to Playground but that wasn't exactly my kind of scene.... Plush on the other hand was an exception because of a particular venue set up there some time ago where a bunch of DJ's I knew had set up a wildly eclectic 80's dance music party... needless to say, those DJ's and the venue they were gonna put on was enough for me to come out and check out where they were going to lay this out: Plush.

If there's any other place that could have done an 80's dance music party better than what went down at Plush, I'd be surprised. Because it was a DAMN good venue put on which had me going crazy for 5 hours straight.

The night started with a Bombay Sapphire martini, where I became acclimated to the bartenders and the scene in general. They were graciously genuine and gave me the impression that I wasn't just a simple patron at the bar. They made me feel welcomed, comfortable. I got a sense of what the place felt like and it didn't feel... like a bar. No, no.

This place felt like a sanctuary.

If I could have an excuse to drop down to 6th &4th just to come here regularly, I seriously would. This place made such an amazing first impression on me, I would strongly consider going back just to sit, drink, soak in the ambiance, hang out, and just enjoy an evening of vegging out as the rest of the environment evolves around me: friendly faces talking, laughing... music from the stage pouring in at all directions and volumes--just the thought of the place alone is making me miss it already.

From what I observed, Plush tended to attract a pretty wide range of friendly people who seemed to get along great with one another and would be safe enough to just strike up a conversation and make a friend for the evening, nothing serious, ya know? Just good times and a pleasant atmosphere.

I think I could have appreciated the place even more, and probably discovered wherever this corner of mentioned room full of bean bags was if I wasn't so preoccupied dancing my butt off for five hours. And this leads to my ONLY gripe about this place.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Plush. It's the only bar in my mind here in Tucson that I would consider going to regularly and bring friends there to hang out. So long as they can get past the name "Plush." Some people I know have a problem with that... sounds "too feminine" or whatever; it's they're problem, but also their loss.

But the dancefloor... I dunno if it's because there's some kind of safety regulation involved or if it was a tactful decision, but that dancefloor is the most resistant surface I've ever glided my feet across. What I hated most was when I'd stride around and it sounded more like I was on a basketball court at times. I hate to be the one to sound so pretentious on this but this was the highlight of my evening as to why I came to Plush. I wanted to DANCE, bro!

Is this why I'm giving Plush a 4 out 5? Yes... because if there's amazing music to dance to then WHY is there a difficult dancefloor to utilize? It could very well just be me and most people will disagree strongly against me about it, and that's fine. I just can't get over how much it's bothered me since that awesome, eventful evening.

Other than drinking and hanging out, I was there to DANCE. There was an AMAZING venue up with fantastic tunes powering the scene but that dancefloor was literally killin' me, hahaha! I don't really think it was my shoes either, I'm convinced it was that floor, and it's bothered me ever since. If I ever go back to Plush, I'm most likely going to step into that stage area with the dancefloor and just be like, "My old nemesis... we meet again Dr. Dancefloor." Scowling and shaking a fist at it before I hit the bar for a martini to set myself up for the evening.

If there is just one thing I wish this place could change, it's that dancefloor and to make it a little less resistant so I could float around in blissful.

I'm also aware that this place had been remodeled... that's all I pretty much know about Plush. What the place had looked or felt like then, I couldn't tell you. Again, I'd never been here before that so I have no idea what the culture of this place was like before then. I'm just laying out what I've experienced and that I'm pleasantly surprised to find myself thinking about this place alot since then.

One of these days, I'll have to check out another one of Plush's random venues going on when it's not these particular DJ's I vouch for who might show their faces again. Get myself acclimated to the culture of this place, because I've really took a strong liking to this place and would love to make it a special part of Tucson I can escape to as a sort of "home away from home."

Plush is fun, not as fun as it used to be when it was all dark and mysterious with the old-skool hard ass been-there-forever bartenders that we all loved...but it is still a great place to stop and have a drink...the new crowd and bar staff just don't have the same vibe but I still have lots of fun memories here.  :)

A Tucson original, this place is great for gathering with friends to just chill. They have multiple rooms and areas. There are two outside areas. There's a stage too with live music sometimes. You can hang in the bar even if you don't pay to watch the show, and you still have access to one of the outside areas.

I don't think they are known for their cocktails as much as they are their beer varieties. A lot of people complain about the remodel of the place because it used to have fur on the walls or something, but I found the decor to be interesting and well-suited to the area. It is one of the funkier and cool bars on 4th. If you want a dark, laid back hipster, artsy bar to relax in, then this one might just be for you!

Cheap drinks, great music, eclectic crowd- everything that 4th ave is about, is right here. The only reason it's not five stars? The bar patio might as well be ON the street and what the heck was that "renovation" about? Is it done? Did they make a mistake? Why are there holes in the walls now, but not before? So sad to see that awesome flocked wallpaper go and weird kitschy knickknacks and half exposed walls/ceilings show up in it's place, hopefully they're still working on it.

    PLUSH

It took me a while to come back to Plush after the remodel. I loved the old Plush and the redo felt strange (not in a good way). Tuesday night I found myself meeting an old friend at the new plush. It wasn't my first time in since the remodel but it felt comfortable. Comfortable...you know Plush. Anyway Tuesday is Martini Night basically anything up is on special. If that is not what you're into there are a lot of other specials. I love that Plush always has SOMETHING on special. The coffee is also really good. Justin at the bar is super great, always has been, always will be.  Bacon Bloody Marys on the weekend are pretty good too.

Great Venue (miss the former padded window seating), good bands hired. Good sized dance floor and ventilation (doesn't get hot inside). Unfortunately their service is terrible ...most of the employees have bad attitudes and are unfriendly if not aggressively unreasonably rude.

What a wonderful place. I came here for drinks and to see a show and was very happy with what I found.

Now lets take note that many of the places on this street are very much drinking holes for 20 somethings and it can be pretty much a druckin bro fest THIS PLACE IS NOT THAT. It's really very classy about the whole thing.

It has a nice warm and welcoming feeling yet with a hip vibe about it. The drinks are good and the little stage area and smoking patio is nice too.

The show I went to see had a very great sound guy working here. And by that I mean even the bands were happy with the quality of the sound.

The wait staff was very on top of the drink glasses and they didn't build up and the bar tenders were quick about their drink turn around.

Over all one of the best bars I've been to. Not just in Tucson but EVER.

I have to say that in the past I never really enjoyed Plush, but NOW it's AWESOME.

The remodeled space has higher ceilings allowing more light and less claustrophobic conversations. The decor has also been improved and looks a bit more classy while still being a little rough.

The back stage area has been done up very nicely with a huge open area that has a semi-balcony area. The speakers are positioned a bit in the way of the stage but no big deal. The outback smoking patio of the stage is super nice. With large wall paintings, heat lamps and floor to ceiling windows that lets you enjoy the show while your out for a smoke. Its really cool.

Drink prices are actually really good and servers come around to take order when your out back, although there wasn't enough of them. The restrooms are clean and that's a plus for a place that gets extra packed. I had a great time and will definitely be coming back to hear new bands at this cool and happening joint.

Plush, Plush, Plush... I have something to say.  Shhhh... Don't talk, and just wait for it.  Yes, I love you.

I love this place... I've been going here since the days of old.  Days of old?  Remodel?  What am I talking about?  If you don't know you won't know.  Oh, wait there are photos on Yelp.

Anywho, there's a lot to this place.  The most eclectic of people gathering, not-so-intrusive live music, and über comfortable surroundings.  They have a corner with Bean Bags!  Bean Bags I tell you!
The staff is awesome here.  I've never waited an insane amount of time for drinks when snagging them for my cohorts and I.

*What do I have to start the night you may ask?*
Well, kind Miss or Sir, I'm glad you asked that question.  I start the night with a Sexy Blue Jesus.  It's one of the hidden gems in this bar.  A delight for the pallet if you will, and I do.  All the bartenders make this glorious and holy beverage, but if you're there on a night when Sarah is gracing your presence have her handle it.  For heathen, she is the creator and you want it from her.  (Trumpets blare in the background).

Plush is its own experience unlike most of the other cookie cutter bars on 4th Avenue.  If you want a chill spot with friends, or just want to mingle with diverse people this is the experience you've been wanting.  Enjoy it, and the furry wall.

Ok, Plush, we're friends again.  I broke my break from Plush when Freezepop came a little while ago, because I have seen Freezepop every time they have come to Tucson since I moved here and there's no reason to break that streak!  When I went out that night, I was in a fantastic mood to go out, perfectly suited to go with the flow.  I had a MUCH better experience with the bar, though I did shy away from asking for anything even vaguely complex, having had such a bad experience with that the time before.  The show was great, of course.  I didn't forgive Plush yet, but it was a good start.

I ran into a friend there.  Ok, several.  But this one friend left her sweatshirt.  So the next night she asked me if I wanted to go have a cocktail and see if she could get her sweatshirt.  The shirt was gone, but the cocktails were nice, and there was a lovely cocktail waitress who came around.  Nice touch, Plush.

Once the ice melted a bit more that night, I have started popping into Plush on occasion for cocktails.  I've even suggested it to friends.  So, yeah, we're friends again, Plush.  I'd probably even give you 5 stars if you had tea and could make us hot toddies.  The espresso drinks touch is very nice, indeed.  Also having hot toddies would just be even better.

I've been to Plush about 5 times now, and I really like the quirky decor and friendly bartenders. There are several areas to this bar: A small lounge/bar/drinking side with tables and chairs; A music venue where they have live bands play most nights; and two patios.

As a music venue I would have to say it's just okay because the bands are hit-or-miss, but the stage is plenty big and they always seem to be having a good time.

The drinks are strong and tasty, which is really my main criteria for a good bar.

WTF is going on at Plush? We walked into a total makeover. The bar is cool. It is open on both sides of the wall. The drinks are still good and the beer selection is pretty good too. I am just not sure about the new decor. We had to share a lounging area with another couple but they were really nice so it wasn't too bad.

It was random 90's night in the main bar area. I mean where can you hear NKOB( I named them all), Snoop Dogg and Shania Twain in the span of one hour? Plush.

One of my favorite bars on 4th Ave. This is a great place to just hang out.  Its also a really good venue for bands.  The specials are really good most of the time too.  Not as big of a fan since the remodel but its trill a great place.

I have seen like four or five shows here in the year or so I have lived in Tucson, and the small feel of the venue makes the concerts really inmate.

Tuesdays are martini night at Plush, any martini is $5.  Basically anything in a martini glass, my regular Tuesday order is a SoCo Manhattan.

Be sure to check out their specialty drink a "Sexy Blue Jesus", too sweet for me, but you gotta try it once.

Plush is the best bar in Tucson for seeing live bands. I've seen everything from local jazz groups to internationally renowned bands there, and they all seem at home. The website is also very helpful- if you've never heard of the band that's playing that night, they'll list other bands that it "sounds like."

Much has been said about the renovations- I've been going there for years and I'm still adjusting to them myself. The heart is still there, and the back patio is its same crowded-self.

Cool little bar and music venue, they have a front area with tables and the bar and then a door to the venue at the back.

The drinks are well-priced and they have a good happy hour, and I really dig the retro 70s ish decor and music.

Great place to relax and have a drink or two.

    This place is great!

This is a cool little venue that offers a wide variety of great bands!  From international stars to local start-ups, Plush is the place to check out great acts in a comfortable setting.  I've seen so many genres of performers play on Plush's stage.  They offer a small, personal, up-close feeling with some great artists!  The lighting is a little dark, but they are VERY lenient on photographers and videographers during performances!  The staff is filled with people who are pretty polite.  The parking situation can be annoying sometime; however, this place is worth the small inconvenience.

I can't wait to see what the remodeling brings!

Such a chill place with a great vibe, Plush is both a welcoming bar and an excellent venue for your favorite bands.  When you enter, it's almost like the bar/lounge section in the front plays as a hip little lobby for hanging out and mingling before you step into the main room, where all the live music (ergo, the fun) happens.  If you're not interested in the live music, that's cool; just hang out in the front area and bask the laid back atmosphere.  If you're out to support an artist or you want to discover something new, then this place has got you covered in spades.

It's this dual personality of Plush that really makes it shine.  It's the kind of place you can just walk into and have a great time, no matter what style of nightlife you're in the mood for.  The only detractor is that the sound isn't the clearest -- a fact the rings especially true when particularly loud bands (like Mono) play here.  But hey, after downing a few drinks amidst walls of floral and paisley 70's wallpaper and soaking up the positive vibes all around, I'm sure a little warbling here and there won't bother you one bit.

Plush is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues for live music in Tucson. Seriously guys, they are doing something right, booking live shows you aren't going to see anywhere else around town.

Aside from kitschy decor that I've absolutely grown to love, and a unique following that seems to change depending on the night, this place has some of the best staff members I've ever encountered at a bar/club. I really get the feeling they want to be there, so kudos to the management for promoting an enjoyable working environment. It also doesn't hurt that the bartenders know how to mix a drink, something you don't always find at bars around town.

I know that the back room can be a little pricey, but trust me when I say the money is worth the experience you'll have. And if you don't want to drop a twenty for a few hours of entertainment, go see a lesser known band for ten bucks or even five, and get a feel for how cool the space is back there on the cheap.

I have to hand it to my friend Kevin R who is without a doubt one of the biggest fans of Plush. I have been hesitant meeting him there in the past, griping that it wasn't really my scene, but thanks to some recent trips in the month of September, I find myself eating my own words because I'm diggin' the place more than ever. If I could only grab a drink now to wash down the words I'm eating...

Plush is one of those go-to places on the weekend when you don't know where else to go.  The inside it filled with tons of vintage, gothic-like decor, comfy "plush" couches (hehe), and is consisted of 2 rooms; the main room, and the back room which has a bar and a stage for shows.  Additionally, Plush has a newly renovated back patio as well as a patio for the folks that are in the back room watching the show.

My boyfriends band plays here quite often, and I have to say it is probably one of my favorite venues in Tucson.  The atmosphere is never dull, the decor is rad, and drinks are reasonably priced!

The drink prices are reasonable unless you're going for top shelf liquor. Speaking of top shelf liquor, have you tried their Hendricks martini, dirty with six olives ($7)? Oh wait, make that eight olives (still $7). Thank you, Mr. Bartender wearing a suit, lookin' all classy. Oh my... What a tasty, delicious shaken, not stirred concoction you've made. Mmmm! $14 + Tip and I'm good for the night!

And what's that music I hear? Oooh wait, is that Musee Mecanique playing in the back room? The backup singer from The Birds & The Bees? Holy Rolling Empire and Dead Western Plains? Awesome!

Shows over, I think I'll mosey on back to the front room and sit on a nice plush couch and have a chat with my mates. The lights are so dim...I can hardly see them or have those martinis taken me already? The music playing is so nice. This is a NO Top 40 zone, baby! Thank you, music Gods. Thank you.

Let's all go smoke a cigarette on the back patio. Mmm...I smell the rain coming. Monsoon season again. I'm standing here with my lovely, beautiful friends. This couldn't be more perfect. :)

The funny thing about Tucson is that huge parts of the city are just dark at night (coming from someone who lives in a very populated urban setting), and then you show up on 4th Ave and 6th St and all this humanity and unnatural lighting comes up on you, and people are buzzing and chatting everywhere.

Plush is tucked away into this dark corner of the intersection... at night you can be not more than a few blocks away and if not for the rumbling music you might think you were in the middle of a deserted industrial zone.

Before I went to the Pacific Northwest and truly understood what a hipster city was (Portland I'm looking at you), I ended up at Plush for a night and got a taste of the scene.

I don't remember the band playing, maybe too many drinks at that time. The crowd was amazingly diverse. At least for an indie crowd. I don't know what that really means. Met a bunch of random touring musicians, scene kids, and of course good ol' flannel hipsters. It gets kind of crowded in here and the lighting is minimal and they definitely have their oddball townie regulars. Highly recommended if you are going through the city and looking for the indie scene.

I love the music here, and the crowd is my scene. I miss this place. I remember seeing bloc party years back. Loved it. The outdoor patio is roomy and makes it nice to grab a cigarette.

The drinks are inexpensive, the bands are sweet (every club gets a clunker occasionally) and the lounge is great.  Check out local bands and independents on their way through Tucson. There's also and outdoor lounge for smokers where you can still hear much of the show.

It's one of the best place in Tucson to hear new and up-and-coming bands, drink cheap and have a great night.

This is one of my two favorite watering holes in town (the other being The Shelter).  I'll keep it simple:

The drinks: Cheap and brilliantly prepared by friendly bartenders who are intimately familiar with arcane mixology.

The music: Great local and national indie acts can be found most nights of the week.  The average weekday triple bill costs about $5 to get in to, and features diverse acts.  For people who follow the national indie scene, there are often fairly well-known acts that come through (Von Iva, John Vanderslice, and Low are just a few that came to mind that I have seen there).

The atmosphere: Fun, comfortable, swanky hipster hang out.  It has a couple of nice outdoor areas and plenty of seating.

Basically, if you don't like the typical grungy, white-hat-boy bar scene, enjoy good music, and are older than, say, 25, Plush is your spot.

One of the best bars in Tucson. Most douche-bags will think that it is a gay bar which keeps the crowd pretty chill. Cheap drinks, 3 bars setup on busy nights and live music.

One interesting thing is that its definitely easier to get a drink here when its busy then when it is dead. If its dead they usually only have one bar open and its slow as balls.

I've seen an eclectic group of bands at this place. From random indie rock to bluegrass to a one man hip hop extravaganza. Always worth the cheap ticket price.

If you are in Tucson and on 4th ave, this is a must stop.

Also don't forget to pet the fur in the picture frame, trust me.

A lot of the best shows in town are at Plush, but their low-ceilinged main room can feel like a wedding reception or bar mitzvah.  It's not like there's rotund in-laws cloaked in pastels doing the Electric Slide in there or anything, just a little ding to their ambiance.  Plush has got most other venues on one main thing: one of the smoking patios is close to the stage -- the door is usually left open and you can still see the band and hear the music from inside while you puff.

Plush's lounge area has comfy tables and seating (when you can actually find any) and several bars to handle the crowd.  The staff is always friendly (in my experience, even when ejecting too-faded folks), you can often spot local band celebrities/music critics/promoters/media personalities at shows here and there's rarely a line in the restroom because it's so freaking huge (a billion stalls and sinks, hell yeah).

You can typically catch some live music in the lounge for free if there's not a show in the main room (Al Perry, Marianne Dissard, The Hounds, et al.), and people aren't afraid to get down and shake it right on the floor in front of them.  This place is lovingly run and patronized by music people/musicians and it shows.

Plush is good for early pre-gaming or a quick stop.  Unless there's a good show there (which is often), I typically have two drinks tops there and then bounce elsewhere.  I've never had a hard time getting served quickly.

Bonus plus: hottest bar manager on 4th Avenue, easily.

I wasn't that impressed with Plush....

After reading reviews I was stoked to try this place out but was sadly disappointed when we arrived to a slow bartender, 8.00 cocktails (That's what I was surprised with!) and an additional 15.00 cover to get into the back (which we didn't pay)

I'll give it another try in the future but just as a first timer...not impressed.

Plush is a great bar with a nice, laid back vibe.  My only visit took place on a crowded Saturday night.  Despite limited space in the bar and the large crowd, we were still able to find a couple of chairs on the back patio, where the music was low enough for conversation.  This feels like a great people-watching spot for those Cooler Than Thou Hipsters and I definitely won't protest a return visit the next time I'm in Tucson.

Delicious, cheap drinks.  Ask for a Sexy Blue Jesus.  Seriously.  Just do it.

Pretty much my favorite place on God's green earth. Although if you made me choose between it and Club Congress you might make my head explode.

You aren't going to beat the chill, velour wall cladden, almost too comfortable, perfectly lit bar area with a dynamic mix of fantastic playlists and satellite radio that is as unpredictable as the crowd and music acts that show up each night. And it's easy to enjoy yourself at the ridiculously low prices for drinks.

But the real treasure is the lounge area that hosts independent artists from Tucson and around the world almost every night. It is easily my favorite place to see a small show. Even most national artists fall in love with it and hang out all night before and after shows along with everyone else getting trashed on 2.50 mixed drinks and 3.00 pints. Of course it's either that or the creepy warehouse across the parking lot, but almost every indie band that comes seems to get caught in the vibe of the place which usually makes for great shows as well as heavy drinking for all.

But what if that opening band for Sunset Rubdown sucks ass? Plush gives you the big assist there too with a huge connected patio to the lounge area where you can still see and hear (at a significantly discounted volume) everything that is going on through a large glass window and entry way. So you can chill and try to cheer up Spencer Krug while one of his bandmates' crappy side projects gets some undue exposure.

I would drop anything for a night out here, and still do for some shows now that I live in Phoenix. It still kills me though that I live that far away from it.

So I saddle up to the bar and order 3 drinks: 2 margaritas and 1 Maker's Mark. Toute suite, the bartender makes them, places them on the bar and says "$14." Les what???? Excuse my, my ears must be plugged from my flight and end-of-cold congestion. "Oh sorry, you're right," he says, "13." I steady myself to avoid falling off my barstool so early in the evening.

That slice of life typifies the reverse sticker shock I've experienced in Tucson all weekend. And this place would do well anywhere -- just the right amount of hipsters, cougars, and grad students.

I love the hipster trash crowd. Love the bands. Love the drinks. Don't love so much that one drunk guy that spilled his drink all over my table, and then proceeded to find some abondoned drink and take it for himself. GROSS.

God, loooove the drinks. They make em strong, the make em goood. Where else can you get 2 drinks for $7??! ONLY Plush.

This place is great for casual convos with strangers, casual drinking, casual everything. Nothing pretentious. Everything wonderful.

Their scotch selection is pretty sweet.

I love Plush and hate it at the same time.  It's a fun little place but people there can be kinda uppity.  Can I penalize it for the hipster trash factor?

    Yes.
