Oh what to say to this one! Â Here goes my soap box...
My grandparents opened up this business, my parents took it over for 25 years, and then sold it several years ago. Â While we owned it, it was one of the most popular bars in the northern Illinois area. Â There were always specials, night parties, radio station live broadcasting, popcorn fights, and more. Â The food was always delicious, yet bar food. Â
Since selling the business, I have not paid a visit but I haven't heard positive remarks. Â I guess you'll have to check it out for yourself. Â To this day, my father still goes by "Poor Richard" or "P.R." and all the cops know him. Â On a more personal level, I took away a star because it pretty much tore up my family life while I was young. Â My father was never home (practically nocturnal), my mother worked in the office as the accountant and the smoke and bar environment did harm to both. Â Thank goodness for the no-indoor smoking laws (sorry smokers).
