Portillos Hot Dogs Inc.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch. I usually get either their bacon cheeseburger or a big Italian beef. Their service is really slow at times, especially during the lunch rush, but who can blame them for being a hot spot to eat. They could use a bigger parking lot as it becomes quite congested. Besides the minor things, they have great food. Would recommend

Portillo's has some good solid food.  I love their char grilled bacon cheeseburger (love the soft bun that they use), their cobb salad (great dressing (I ask for extra), bacon bits, macaroni pasta), as well as their Maxwell Street Polish (with the onions and the mustard).  Can be a little pricey, but it's good rib-sticking food.  Plenty of seats inside, and be wary of the fast drivers in the parking lot.  The drive-thru can be incredibly long, but they usually have a good efficient system of attendants who take your order and your payment outside.

I've been going to Portillo's forever. The beef,  hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, chocolate cake, and chopped salad are delicious. One of the best places to get your Chicago staple foods :)
