I normally LOVE Potbelly, and as a medical sales rep, use them often for office luncheons. Â This one in Park Ridge, I hate. Â I placed an order at 10 AM to be delivered at Noon (online). Â They call me at 10:50 and ask if they can deliver at 12:45. Â Why would you wait that long to call and ask? Â Obviously, this was not going to work, and when I said no, this is a doctor's office with specific lunch hours for the staff, I got a response of a sigh and I guess we can cancel it. Â Thanks, but no thanks. Â I luckily scrambled and found someone else to do this delivery and will NEVER be using this Potbelly again.
Review Source:I went to high school down the street from the original one and frequent other locations too so I'm well versed in Potbelly experiences. I stopped in here while in Park Ridge and had one of the worst Potbelly sandwiches I've ever had. Bummer.
I asked for extra hot peppers on my Wreck. Dude complied... but didn't bother draining any of the oil so when I got to my sandwich, the bun was so greasy it disintegrated. A sopping wet oil slick. Gross. Total waste of time and money, I had to toss it.
Sad. Definitely won't be returning.
Not sure what to say, its a Pobelly location; so you know you are getting great toasted subs.
I am an old timer when it comes to Potbelly's, dating back to when I was on campus @ DePaul around '90 and would frequent the original location on Lincoln Ave.
The only drawback is I really can't stand the delay in ordering now that they have multiple sizes and salads. Â You used to be able to fly through the line at any location during lunch.
That said: #1 place for subs!
I nosh here fairly regularly because it is right around the corner from my office. Truly, this is as good as it gets for a chain restaurant. Â
Always really friendly service. They honestly take care in putting together a great sandwich (mmmmmm...turkey and bacon!). Good selection of beverages, too. They have a whole cooler filled with sodas, teas, and the like BUT ALSO fountain drinks for people like me that prefer mixin up my own fizzy concoction (that'll be 2 parts diet with 1 part regular and a splash of Sprite, please). Â
Why is this drink variety such a bonus? Because it ensures that both sit-in diners and take-away diners can select the style that is most fitting to their daily activities (riding the Metra? grab a can of something. Dining inside? savour a fountain drink and refill it when you want to). That's smart. Â
Definitely one of the better fast-casual sandwich places in the O'Hare area. Â Especially when considering that you can add bacon to anything...mmmm....bacon.
