I've kind of been on a Potbelly kick lately when I have a turkey sandwich craving. Â
What I really like about Potbelly is that they truly offer some lower calorie/carb fare for the folks watching their waistlines. Â You can go to their website, plug in your sandwich selection and toppings and get a nifty output of calories, fat, sodium and such. Â I love that.
I also love that while you can get away with a regular turkey on white with no cheese and no mayo for under 400 calories. Â You can also stick to the Skinny Sandwiches with 1/3 less bread and meat to keep it lower cal and still get your cheese fix.
While the line at this Potbelly location is usually super long, they move things along very quickly. Â I've never had a problem with bad service or incorrect orders.
Get me in, get me out and get my my sandwich!
Let me first start off by saying that I've been a Potbelly's customer since it was a little mom and pop place in Lincoln Park. Â I'm surprised that the new owners have managed to keep the feel and quality of the original to the extent they have. Â I generally like them, but I have problems with this location specifically. Â Just about every time I go to this location my order gets screwed up, I get ignored, or I seem to wait far longer than the people behind or in front of me. Â Today as I watched 3 the folks behind the counter help the 3 people in line behind me without even a nod I gave up and walked out.
Lucky for them I really had a taste for their Chick Pea salad. Â Lucky for me there are another 4 Potbelly's within walking distance, so I walked another few blocks and got what I wanted at another location. Â I won't be back to the one on Adams and Wacker, but you might see me in one of the others. Â Just wish the one closest to the office could get a system in place that works.
