Not a lot of Mexican in the Loop, so a good place to go if you're really craving it, but otherwise not worth it. Â Overpriced - go figure, it's in the Sears Tower - and there will be a wait unless you come pretty early or late on your lunch hour. Â I had the fish taco special for $10, seasoned mahi-mahi with jalapeno slaw, with rice and black beans. Â I liked the slaw, which tasted cool and crispy. Â Fish was okay - could've used more of a kick but was cooked nicely. Â Chips and salsa were okay - salsa not my favorite, but I didn't take advantage of the salsa bar, perhaps I should've. Â Chips had a really nice crunch.
My dish was one of the cheapest things on the menu unless you get something REALLY basic. Â Most things seemed to be in the $12-16 range. Â So expensive for lunch! Â I'm going to check out a bunch of other Loop lunch spots before returning. Â Fun to eat in the Sears Tower though, I guess?
It's an okay option for lunch in the loop. It's right by my office so we've been there a couple of times for group outings. They get pretty crowded during the lunch hour so it's good to have a reservation. Â
Food is pretty decent. They also have a complimentary chips and salsa bar in addition to the ones that they bring to your table. Save room for dessert because I love their flan and the ice cream sandwich. Â
Service is pretty good. There are a few picky eaters in our group. I mean there are normal vegetarians and then there are ppl who don't like cheese. I mean seriously...how can you not like cheese. Anyway...I'm digressing. But these guys were able to accomodate everyone. Our waitress was great. She even gave us a few complimentary Sundaes for our table. So we all went back to work with a sugar high and feeling pretty happy. ;)
It is a quite popular place during the lunch hour. It is on the second floor the Willis Tower close to Franklin side. It is not very easy to find for the first timer.
The seats are pretty close to each other in a fairly big area. The chips were pretty tasty and greasy. The salsa bar was pretty cool. I really like the dark green spicy one.
My order was the Little village something which comes with four mini fish tacos without rice or beans. The fish were kind of boiled and have no flavor what so ever. I guess it is not a bad thing as it should be healthier this way. So I just poured the dark green salsa all over it. It was fine but not my favorite fish tacos.
The services were quick. We had to wave a few times to get someone's attention. I decide to go another one next time which is 50% cheaper than this but not as fancy as this one when I crave fish tacos. This is probably better with a group of people when we want to sit down and be served with the Mexican food.
