I found myself in the area for an extended period of time helping an acquaintance. Scrounging for something to eat -- because they didn't have anything in the house - I came upon this place as one of the few in the area.
I was really craving a salad, and after Hienie's Chicken (now known as "Shrimp") hung up (yes, hung up!) on my friend's teenager when he called to ask if they had a salad -- I was relieved to find that Pucci's did indeed serve salad. That is, until the meal arrived.
The "side salad" was served in the tiniest cup I've ever seen for a salad. It was the kind of cup that would be used for coleslaw. Never a regular salad! I have to wonder what it would look like if you ordered it in the restaurant. I don't know if they were out of the utensils used for side salads -- but it is hard to believe that they would serve a salad that size in the restaurant.
Needless to say, I was disappointed. The chicken we ordered was pan fried in olive oil and delicious. But they should be ashamed of themselves on that "side salad." Really!!
We always get take out from here at my school because it is one of the few places nearby. The Cheeseburger is always my favorite. Its large, good and shockingly cheap. You do have to order fries separate.
Don't travel down here to eat it, but if you're in the neighborhood for some reason, its a good cheap, quick bite.
Initially came here on a buy one - get one offer but continually come back when in the neighborhood.  Excellent pasta and gravy, almost everything we've ordered tastes good.  My wife always has the Chicken Vesuvio with the side of spices in org. broiled gravy.  Monster  Italian breaded steak sandwich that you'll likely have to carry home some in a doggie bag.  Go for the soup of the day as this is delicious and must be homemade.  Just close your eyes and order the soup we've never gone wrong.  Your eyes will blink but they do have a decent Lake Perch sandwich too! They also have daily specials and had to take home a Sunday lasagna dinner that was too much to finish.  The pizza rates a very good for my thin crust choice.  But this is more than a pizza place and I find myself drawn to their main selections because they are just so good and original.  If your going to the "Boat" skip the buffet and eat here instead, others will thank you.
Review Source:Great Pizza! Â They have great take-out or eat-in food. Â It's a local family pizzeria that has good Italian cuisine as well as chicken, fish, sandwiches and pizza. Â It's on US Route 41 & 20 and the Skyway/Indiana Toll-way run right by it. Â Just get off at the 104th Street exit, the last before Indiana. Â It's worth the stop.
Review Source:The best damn Italian joint south of Madison Street! Family-owned, Pucci's is old-school neighborhood joint, with a small, unpretentious and simply stocked bar, and TOP-NOTCH pizza, sandwiches, and pasta. Go with the thin-crust pizza, the Italian Steak Sandwich (hint: ask for extra sauce), and the antipasto. The Gnocchi is also great. There's not a whole lot going on, maybe, on Chicago's original East Side, but if you're passing through via the Chicago Skyway or Indiana Toll Road, do yourself a favor and exit onto Indianapolis Boulevard and head south about a mile to Pucci's. Seldom crowded and usually with just one server, this quiet little place is a hidden gem. More like the cafes in Italia (except the coffee options) than just about anywhere else in the city.
