This place just opened up a couple weeks ago, so I decided to give it a go; as we all know I love tacos.

Whenever I try a new taco joint I always order three tacos.  One carne asada (steak), one Pastor (marinated pork), and one more of random meat; in this case barbacoa (steamed beef).

It took me a while to get home, I was busy chit-chatting with the owner, so my taco's got a bit soggy, but that's my fault.  I started with the barbacoa taco.  The meat was nicely steamed and most.  I have two beefs with it though (yes pun intended).  The first is that it seemed as if I got the last bits of meat.  Some of the cuts had a lil too much fat on them, which I think could have been trimmed off better.  The second is that a dash of salt would have helped.

I moved on to the carne asada.  The meat tasted really good, and the taco was stuffed with meat.  I really enjoyed this taco and it went well with the salsa verde (green hot sauce).

Now when I entered, I first noticed that they were preparing a fresh spindle of pastor, so I knew I'd get re-heated meat, but I still decided to go for it because as I watched them preparing the spindle, it looked really tasty.  And let me tell you, it sure was tasty. This was the first time I was able to taste the pineapple (yes they season al pastor with pineapple); and for being reheated the mean was a lot better then I thought it would be.

I'm going to give them 3 stars now, but I will be back and I'm sure this ranking will bump to a 4; and I sure hope so considering that they have the latest hours in the hood.  They are open until 11pm on Monday - Thrursday and 1am on Friday and Saturday!!! Awesome!!!

Also they have a good variety of meats and foods, and the prices are great.  $1.50 for a taco, $3.50 for a torta, $4.50 for a burrito.  I should also mention that I was surprised to see that in my take-out bag they included limes and cebollitas (baby grilled onions) and a the traditional pickled carrots, onion, chili mix.  Limes are common, the carrot mix rare, but never have I ever seen cebollitas handed out as well.  It was a very pleasant surprise indeed.

I'll talk to the owner and see if I can help mold them into a 4 or 5 star restaurant.
