In the fancy area that is Sunnyvale you will find PURE down the nicely paved street where there is a galore of bars, restaurants, clubs, lounges, and random people riding their skateboards face down on the street.  Be careful when signing up for the guestlist on their website, you'll see a confirmation message, but not a confirmation email -- register twice just to be safe!  The security is pretty efficient at moving the line, we got in line 15 minutes before guestlist was capped and we made it just in time.

Step inside and you'll find yourself in a dim corridor with bathrooms to the left - gentlemen, to the right - ladies.  Step through the halls and you'll see a small stage with an even smaller runway for gogo dancers.  When the gogo dancers come out and do their thing you aren't allowed to sit on the conveniently-low-enough-to-be-a-sit-where-you-can-rest-for-a-bit-without-being-awkwardly-distant-from-your-friends runway. There's really no place to sit down unless you got some bottle service.  The LC here is mixed quite strongly, though it can be a bit of a chore to get the attention of one of the bartenders.

While other clubs make it a bit difficult for you to grab some fresh air without getting kicked out, the staff at PURE make it very hassle free, you can step out without worrying about some kind of invisible line that upon crossing will get you kicked out of the club.

All in all, a pretty small nightclub with decent music, normally priced drinks, and capacity filled at 75% at peak hours, a good place to come with friends but maybe not to befriend strangers.

The interior is pretty, reminds me of a classier club than what downtown sj has to offer. I remember this place as Abyss during my clubbing days when I was 18. It still is quite small inside, or maybe that is because they closed half the dance floor off. My girlfriend Tram Nguyen and I chose this venue because it was Hip Hop night last Friday, July 6th. For the most part I enjoyed the music, I absolutely love hip hop! I am not into house music so I was not a big fan when they did play those songs that night, I can't complain thought because the majority of the songs were hip hop.

Friday night was so so so dead! I felt like we were the party as there were 30 of us there to celebrate our BFF's 25th birthday. We booked bottle service through Michael H., which went very smooth. If I had any questions I would email him and he would literally answer within 5 minutes, that is what I call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! You get 5 free admissions with bottle service but since we got there before 11, I decided to only use 1 as I needed to get in and pay for the table before getting the bottle. We ended up getting two bottles that night as there were so many of us. We did not see the cocktail waitress that often, but she was really nice. I thought the shot glasses were a little small but it worked out. Your company is what makes it a good time and I really enjoyed seeing my friends that night. I heard that Saturday nights are busier than Friday nights.

    +1 Nice Interior
+1 Great customer service, quick to respond! What every patron expects =)
+1 HIP HOP music on fridays. It's hard to find a club that is not playing EDM

I came here for a friend's birthday party. The place looks much better than before. More upscale. The dance floor is much smaller due to the vip areas. A smart move on the owner's part. Now they can charge people to sit and drink vs. standing for free. Nice for customers as well since they offer more seating.

We sat in the vip area next to the bar and bathroom. The place wasn't too empty or packed, which was a good thing. The bottle service was nice. They always cleaned up and checked on us. The security guys are nice. I drove by myself and Jim offered to walk me to my car when I was leaving.

If you are looking for something local try this place out.The area offers plenty of parking.

    Pretty waitresses :D
Music is range from "what the heck was that" to "OMG,so good".
Drinks: not sure about cocktail but shots are so weak for some reason - 4 LCs doesn't make me crazy :(

Came here on a Friday night for one of their events. . When I walked in, I was amazed at all the lights and the pretty crystals that hung from the ceiling. I was also approached by some of the girls and they gave out free flavored Hennessy shots. It was good but I think it was mainly juice. They have a really small smoking area outside.

There were multiple DJs of the night. They were alright. Really didn't like the last DJ that played oldies as the night was ending.

I kind of expected it to be a little more crowded. There were a lot of empty tables and space, but I'd come back to check it out again.

Such a beautifully lit venue with pretty bottle service girls (and friendly) but management either is smokin' that stuff and needs to share or their logic is just out of line.

Pure's EDM selective Thursday featured tyDi, who I MUST add was phenomenal (other than opening with Clarity lol). As much as I am excited that Pure is doing selective EDM nights, I am sad to say I won't be returning to this place. Here's why:

    1) 2 lines outside: Bottle service, no bottle service. My bottle service group and myself  got to the front, I was told if you had a ticket you had to go all the way back to the back of the no bottle service line because the bottle service line couldn't look at my ticket properly--what?! So apparently with bottle service you get 2 free guests, so only the 2 free guests and you can go in that line. Thanks for the info ahead of time!!

    2) I initially ordered 2 bottles for bottle service because I was under the impression they would be cheaper. I was told I had to pay for both. I asked if we could pay for just one since I didn't know of the true pricing ahead of time. Must we negotiate under this amazing music for 10 minutes before deciding you guys can take back one bottle? Stretch a little and sacrifice a $40 bottle for good service, shit.

    3) Soda that came with bottle service was flat. I asked for another one and that one was still flat. ~$320 for Patron bottle service, I better be getting some fresh soda.

    4) No ins and outs, because I could bring back a weapon from my car--and security isn't allowed to pat down girls--WHAT?! Where is the logic here?! I'd rather feel uncomfortable for 8 seconds being patted down rather than know girls can smuggle drugs/weapons because security isn't allowed to pat down girls. Relative to this, I needed to grab my credit card I forgot in my car, which was ~30 feet from the smoker's area. Security had me go to the front to meet Johnny and they'd take care of it from there. I waited 10 minutes for Johnny where he could see me because the front security wouldn't let me out the front to wave Johnny down. He didn't even look for me. So I just went back to my table and dealt with the credit card issue later.

    5) Event is about to be over and they need my credit card. Oh, sense of urgency now? YES because they let me go to my car to get my credit card. Where was this logic earlier?

This was overwhelming for me all in one night. Though our bottle service girl was really professional, friendly, and pretty, there were too many unnecessary precautions and lack of common sense.

I must have picked a good night to visit Pure for the first time because I had a fun night! My girl friend who joined me has been here once before and told me it wasn't that great but at the end of the night she said it was better than last time!

    What I liked...

    - Decor! The lighting, layout of the dance floor, and bottle service tables are set up so it is easy to get around without having to shove your way through a crowd.

    - Diversity. I know a lot of reviews said this place has a lot of Asians and Sunnyvale is pretty well known for Middle Easterns too but last Friday night I saw a variety of races and ages. The "older crowd" was not creepy and I was happy to only see one cougar on the prowl ;)

    - DJ BUBBLES! I was laughing when I read his name on the website but noticed his laptop when I was dancing and he played a great mix of Top 40. The other DJ's also played some old school hip-hop and there was some R&B at the end of the night too.

    What I did not like...

    - The typical "Let's have an Asian model host the party to bring all the guys in who stand drooling on the dance floor instead of actually dancing". Watched this girl prance around on stage while boys were staring up her dress or at her boobs. Lucky for me she kept all the perv's away from me, yay!

    - The bathroom had a tip jar but no bathroom attendant resulting in a few pennies, dirty stalls, and me holding my bladder until we went to the bar next door.

    - THE FOG MACHINE OMFG SO ANNOYING

    - $9 for a Mai Tai in a short glass. Damn female bartenders.

I think I might return for their customer appreciation night in a couple of weeks. I got what I wanted- no cover, free shots, and good music so I can't complain!

I have been here before a few times and I really enjoyed the venue since it is so pretty and white. The music was decent but the crowd is never as good as you hope. I came here recently for a friend's bday and it has definitely improved since then. The music is wayy better and they played all my top 40 music and hip hop that I love! They had my NeYo, Trey Songz, Chris Brown and the typical dance songs. I really love clubs that play awesome music even though the people there are creeps. This was quite a sausage fest and it is all the guys from San Jose who are too lazy or cheap to go to SF for a real clubbing night. This will suffice if I just wanna dance but beware of the creeps on the sideline. Only girls are allowed to dance on that strip stage and it is quite disturbing to see that all guys around there just stop dancing and just stare up at the girls and drool. Have some class guys.

If you get on guestlist, you can get in for free before 11pm. I got in line at 10:30pm and there was actually a huge crowd outside. I was surprised because I never saw such a turnout. It was quite a sausage fest in line. You have to make sure that once you get in line, you stay there because if you step out, they will NOT let you back in line. They also will not let your friend who is running late to get in line with you. They open at 10pm and they close at 1:30am.

    **TIPS**
    1) Guestlist and get in for free before 11pm.
    2) Enjoy the music and venue, not so much the crowd.
    3) Enjoy!

Staff and security are okay, but the owner Peter was extremely rude and arrogant when my friends having a party here had a VERY MINOR problem with VIP bottle service - giving us the wrong drink. This ABSURD CREATURE has anger problems, offers ABHORRENT customer service, and has no emotional stability to run a place called an "upscale" nightclub. We expected this young man to LISTEN to our concerns and take them as something to improve on (for HIS own good and the benefit of his club), but NO he gave us attitude and treated us, his much needed patrons, like cockroaches. The ONE star goes to everyone else here who actually treat people like genuine human beings, but I should actually be giving this place zero stars. REPLACE the upper management here or don't expect to be in business for long.

This review is for the guys

im from the east bay and i go clubbin a lot. Went down to the south to see wassup with the clubs there and its ok. Lots of asian people. Cute asian girls but bit nerdy. Not freaky enough haha. SF clubs is more hyphy and freaky dancing girls but this club is aiiteeee. The only cute girls were the staff who serve bottle service to people.

Music is more house, party dance type, not enough booty shaking ghetto music ( hard for guys to grind on girls like seriously, how the hell are you suppose to dance with girls with that shit haha) i guess im more use to more hip hop booty shaking music up in the city.

    Pretty asian girls, come here

Pretty asian girls who can freak dance well, go to sf

Venue: Nice, appreciated the lighting and decor.
Music: Good music intermittent with blah not so great music.
Drinks: Watered down and over priced
Crowd: If being in a club full of Asian people is your thing then this is definitely the place for you.
    Staff: Outside staff was pleasant.
Would i go back? Probably not.
    I left pretty disenchanted.

My friends and I decided to go to Pure last minute since it was close and I was hesitant. Going to have to say, it is so fun after they revamped it! The music was top 40's on the Friday night we went and really fun. Crowd is okay.. there was a man (at least 70 years old and I am not kidding) dancing by himself. Maybe he just liked to dance..?

Either way, music was great, people were nice and had a blast!

Even though this venue has great promoters and security, the experience inside is underwhelming.

I got to the dance floor and witnessed a panda dancing with the go-go dancers on top of the stage in the middle. Seeing this, I felt more drunk. My eyes hurt from the lights and I was in desperate need of sunglasses. Pure is like a mini-rave. Need an EDC warm-up? Come here.

Would I come back? Heck to the no! It's quite uncomfortable being the token brown girl in a club...

I'm pretty disappointed with Pure Lounge's overall review on Yelp. I'm glad I came and checked this lounge out, despite my hesitation due to Yelp.

Pure Lounge is refreshing from all the places in SF. I had bottle service, and took advantage of their -$50 off any bottle, and got a bottle of Ciroc (just a small party of 5). Once we got inside, I was told they weren't accepting credit cards, even though the lady I booked with clearly said that we could split the bill, etc. They did clarify that it was just that evening or whatever, so I was understanding about it; regardless, it's not that big of a deal.

Got inside, they were giving out free glasses of champagne. We were seated at our table and it was really nice! I'm all about interior design and presentation and boyfriend and friends all agreed it was really nice inside. I do not have low standards. My boyfriend and I have visited several clubs, lounges, etc., while my other friend and his girlfriend are SF residents very familiar with the scene in the area. Pure Lounge is different from the ugly looking clubs in Sf. The little things make a difference, and the menu lit up with my name was a nice touch.

The music for the evening was hip-hop and top 40, so that was also cool, seeing as most of the places in Sf typically focus on EDM. Music was a bit TOO loud, but I was drunk as hell so it's all good.

We got a free bottle of champagne for my birthday, and the guy who was cleaning up was EXTRA fast and super serious about his job! I felt a bit bad for him, but damn go ahead and do your thang. I admire the work ethic.

It was chippendale night and my girl friend and I ran up to the stage and this guy threw a chain necklace thing (too drunk at the time) around my neck, hahahahaha. Too much fun! Seriously, if you're looking for something new and a bit different from other clubs in SF area, this is a must try! Pure Lounge took care of me and my party, our host often came to check up on us, and she was fully equipped with water for all our drunk asses.

I hope Pure Lounge gets better reviews. They have potential! I was in between 3 to 4 stars, but I would have to honestly say I had a great, fun birthday with amazing service, location, interior, and music!

On a Friday night, it was pretty quiet.  The music was awesome (sans their equipment malfunction).  Maybe Saturday night is better?  We'll be back - loved the atmosphere of the place.

Entrance: Guest list ended at 10:30pm, kind of early, but pretty standard. My friend and I shot to get there by 10:00 just to be sure we got in w/o paying cover. The bouncers do pat down guys, but they were pretty friendly towards us. So if you're on the guest list, they give you a ticket and you get inside. There are no in's and out's, unfortunately.

Dress code: Supposedly it's upscale and I'm pretty sure guys need dress shoes. Every guy I saw inside had dress shoes on, though I did see some in T-shirts and hoodies, surprisingly. I saw a few woman in 1-piece pajama-looking clothes. Not sure what that was about.

Venue: The place is nice. Nice lighting and decorations. Seating for table service is pretty spacious and on 1 or 2 steps up so you get less random people going into your space. Each table had lights underneath that changed colors also, pretty attractive. The dance floor is big, so you never feel too cramped. They moved the DJ booth from the side to the middle, which is 5000x better. Not sure why they had it on the side for so long, maybe for performances on stage. Now you can get bottle service on either side of the DJ booth on stage.

Crowd: Horrible (for Saturday night at least). Probably the 2nd worst crowd I've ever seen at a club (1st place might be Barcode in Sac). This place attracts a lot of Asian males. The girls here seem very difficult to approach too. But then again, it's a little hard to blame them since there are so many a-hole guys out there.

Drinks: I've only ever bought like 1 or 2 drinks here, so can't say much. $9 for a Jack & Coke, average price

MIsc: I guess the promoters for this place started having themes for their parties, which is pretty cool. Last night was "Candyland". Though I don't think most people care, I think it keeps things interesting. They had the dancers dress up in colorful outfits and gave out candy and cotton candy.

I personally don't like this place because of the crowd I've seen. Other than that though, this isn't a bad place to come dance w/ your friends. The volume could be a little softer inside, haha

I've been here twice in the last 2 years that it's been open and it's just OK.

The both times I've been here, I've been in bottle service for friends birthdays and the service isn't bad. My friends and I know a few of the promoters here pretty well so they always treat us great here, but the crowd that comes party here and the DJs is...eh.

the crowd is a mixture of fobby asians(I can say that cuz I am asian haha) and older folks of all races that thinks they are the shit. it's a good and bad thing, at least it's not like ratchet DTSJ.

They need to find better DJs, because the both times i was here, the mix isn't all that great.

I'll probably give this place another chance sooner or later to check out the "2.0", probably the latter though.

    Review Source:

I never been to Pure events before so I can't really compare it from before the "2.0". Just saying.

Before I go on about my review, I'm really used to Ruby Skye for my EDM.... like literally used to it. Since there's rarely EDM in the south bay, I figure to try somewhere new. Alex M.O.R.P.H did an amazing set! Started off with Star Wars and ended with Waiting transitioning to his 'An Angel's Love"! Okay, enough with the artist, lets get cracking to the venue!

Line: It wasn't too bad. They separated the Table line, and Guestlist/ Ticket on the same line. I showed up at 11p and had to wait for 10 minute to get in.

Venue: I would say good location. People can park their car at the parking lot where the malls are. There's so much to say, but then again I am comparing it to what I'm really used to at Ruby Skye. I just hope that in the future there would be more people to come out, maybe more dimmer lights, and fix the bass?

I'm so used to everything ending at 2am... I was a bit upset that it ended at 1:30am.. So I figure.. cool maybe I can chill at the bar next door for another half an hour.. NOPE! They're closed at 1:30am. :(

The food was surprisingly really good. The restaurant was lacking. It was more like fold out tables covered with a white cloth. This place is a club at night. I wish they would just redo the upstairs to make it a legit restaurant/ maybe a classy VIP lounge or something.  There were scuff marks, and I tried not to think of how many non-panty wearing short skirt/ dress wearing girls sat on the bench that I was on... I don't like to know there is a possibility that I'm sitting where a vag was while eating. It seems unsanitary. The food and service are the reasons for the 3 stars.

I'm still not a fan of the clubs opening up as a higher end restaurant during the day.

Came back for round 2. And can you believe it was the "Grand Reopening" but there was a toilet mal function?! The ladies bathroom was flooded so they had to send all the broads over to the men's and tell me why they had to shut off the water anyyway! And you couldn't even flush in the men's. Yacccckkk!!!! :/

    They played good music though....................

Went here last night (3.23.13) with my boyfriend and a few friends. Line was LONG. As usual. Kinda like as long as it would be if u ever went there when it was Abyss (used to go there all the time when i was like 18-20 lol).

It's A LOT nicer, kinda reminds me of the layout and style as WET Nightclub in DTSJ. Main room is all house music (not my thing) and the redroom (upstairs- SMALL a$$ area!!) was hip hop. Im one of those people who love hip hop, top 40 mash up n dont me wrong the DJ was good but the room was so damn small all you smell is sweat. GROSS.

And one other thing- the ladies bathroom was closed because it was flooding. I js walked in there and didnt even kno cause the lady who was attending the bathroom failed to inform or stop me and she was right next to the damn door. She did a terrible job the whole entire time. So the guys who were inside tryin to look for the problem told me it was closed. So men and women were using the mens bathroom and the line was HELLA LONG. So me and my bf js left n i used the bathroom at a bar a few spaces down instead of having to have popped a squat in the parking lot.

I really enjoy this venue for its look. Located in downtown Sunnyvale, this place is definitely OUT-OF-PLACE. You don't expect the inside to look the way it does.

The people in here come from all walks of life - you get barely 21 college-students and 40-year-old cougars. I guess my soberness made me realize all these things.

I enjoyed the music, but the overall atmosphere was a little off to me. This is definitely not my favorite hang-out.

Given: There are no clubs in the Bay Area that compare to Vegas.

    Moving on..

Pure Nightclub isn't so bad. The venue is decent, there is a large dance floor and the music is a great variety of edm, top 40, and hip-hop. Parking is very accessible since it seems to be the only nightclub in the immediate area. Lines aren't too long, in the two times I've been there the longest I had to wait was about 15 minutes.

-1 star for the bouncers/security. They seem to be very strict here, more than they should be. I recall being inebriated, sitting down, then being asked to leave the club. Okay, so I don't remember what happened before then and I was quite drunk, but I didn't do anything that would have caused me to be kicked out. The cover charge is also ridiculous. Seriously, $20 for both females and males to get in? We were all on the guest list and would have made it before 11PM if they weren't stalling everyone in line. Once we got in, the club wasn't even close to capacity.

-1 star for the $10 shots. The shot glasses are MUCH smaller than the average. Even if they were to use them, at least reduce the price. As much as I hate to admit it, better stick with your AMFs or Tokyo Teas here since you get more bang for your buck (despite the horrid taste and nasty hangovers).

Overall, I wouldn't rule out Pure Nightclub for a good Saturday night. Just be sure to arrive early so you don't pay cover and maybe come with a decent buzz.

Got here around 11ish on a Saturday night... $10 cover and wow... where is everyone? The main floor had about... 10 people dancing?  I'm pretty sure we made up the entire crowd upstairs as well.. there was one table area that had 2 of the go go dancers hanging out with people.

Walking in you are immersed in purple and blue lights.  There were giant red lanterns hanging on the ceiling, the table services had one foam glowstick (like the ones you get in vegas clubs)

My friend got a table, it was nice seating area, but the atmosphere could use a bit of livening up.  The music downstairs was EDM, the music upstairs was more top 40/dance ish music.

Upstairs had red decor and if you look up behind the bar, there's a glass window and there would be a go go dancer in there. (the go go dancers later came down and one of them looked really young, like 16? good genes?)

The dress code was dress to impress?  Most girls were in vegas style dresses and guys were in dress shirts and ties.  It is in the quaint part of town, so parking is plentiful.  They do have a coat check, but if you park in one of the closer lots I say, save some $$ for booze and leave your jacket in the car.

This place has potential, but I'm not sure why they have a lack of crowd.. Maybe it's the location? maybe they need to publicize more.   Maybe I'll be back to check it out in a few months.

So I once lost my phone at this place and the manager was kind enough to pick it up and contact me VIA Facebook to return the phone to me. I thought that was nice of him so this place gets an extra star for the kind manager.

The interior of this place is very club like and has cool purple/blue lights. They often have dressed up female workers with whom you can take pictures with. One one occasion they wore skimpy fur clothing for a winter themed event.

The music is so-so. I wish they'd play more recent music. The dance floor is a good size and they have cool glow inflatable sticks that are reminiscent of Vegas clubs.

I find that many of the patrons here are kind of strange. I've gotten persistent suitors asking me to dance and asking me other random questions like "what do you think of my eyeliner" from a man who really was wearing eyeliner.

For a club, it's pretty decent.

    The thumbs ups:
    +very pretty venue
    +pretty friendly security ppl
    +great edm
    +free parking lots

    The thumbs downs:
    -lack of ppl
-seeing an ex making out ferociously with another chick

So I finally got to check out this place. I heard they play EDM on Friday nights so I went there last fri night with my friend Jason. Poor dude couldn't get any girl to dance with him or even talk to him. Then of course since he was always nearby me; no guys approached me :(

I was definitely digging the music & the venue cause it's really pretty. They have EDM downstairs on the main floor while upstairs in the upper room it is top 40s/hip hop.

I pre-drank before going in so I don't know about their drinks at all. Haha.. definitely need more alcohol next time.

Bathrooms were pretty clean. Guestlist - get on it online & you'll have no trouble whatsoever.

I would definitely come back...but probably if I had a date (a dude that I'm dating or with girlfriends)

Definetely NOT comparable to Vegas or SoCal clubs but it will due for the Bay Area unless you live near SF.

No cover is you're on the guestlist which you can sign up through their website.  Just make sure to sign up at least 2 days in advance (I had trouble getting in when I signed up the night before).

The CROWD was definetely on the attractive side.  Mainly asians on the Saturday night I went.  The bouncers were surprisingly very courteous and welcoming!
VENUE wise, it is okay.  The entire dance floor is surrounded by tables and the was small.  They closed off the upper level that night.  There is a runway in the middle which was different.  For those daring ladies, you can dance on the runway free of the pushing and shoving on the dance floor.  That night, they had confetti and gave out glow sticks which was awesome!  They even had a panda walking around and dancing with the crowd.

Overall, I had an awesome time with my girlfriends.  It isn't glamorous and doesn't make you go wow, but if you live 40 minutes away from SF like me, then this will do.  It's a lot better than gong to downtown SJ clubbing.

I've been here twice and received similar experiences.

PARKING: Plenty of parking in the nearby lots.

ENTRANCE: Both times I've gone straight to the front of the line to Johnny, and haven't received any bad bouncer experiences. The lines are short and as long as you get in before 11, you shouldn't have to pay on most nights.

COAT-CHECK: $3 for every item. You can ask for one claim ticket and stack the items on one hanger, but you have to pay $3/item.

INSIDE: Well-lit, which isn't a big problem to me, but I can understand why other people wouldn't like dancing in the light. Half dance-floor, half bottle-service area. The crowd so far has been pretty cool, but not very diverse. The women's bathroom is clean with 3-4 stalls and a couch by the door.

DRINKS: Pretty watered down. I had one and a half Tokyo Teas (plus 1-2 shots) and could barely feel anything. For the price, I'd expect better quality.

MUSIC: Both times, I've heard good music. It's a mix of top 40/hip-hop/dance music. No complaints about the DJs, but the sound system is weird: deafening but muffled. In other words, it's loud but not crisp.

Overall, I have had good experiences at Pure. Go with a great group of friends and you'll have fun no matter what. The club is just not that spectacular.

I went here this past weekend. I was told that this used to be the Abyss club. I remember going here when I was 18 and it definitely changed from that time. Surprisingly, on a Saturday night there wasn't a line and we got in without any problems. As I walked in, Pure was designed in all white. It was nice although it may just be my blurred vision at the time.

We had bottle service which came with Belvedere & champagne for $250. I was expecting it to be packed since it was Saturday, but I guess the weather factored in.

It was a great night with friends, but I wasn't into the crowd that much.

I really wanted to give this club a fair review, so after my third time there, here it is.

*The outside of the club looks promising when the bouncers set up the velvet ropes. The problem is that there is never anyone in line.

*The inside of the club is very large. The problem with that is that there is never anyone in the club.

*I arrived each time with my friends and at least 5-6 girls. These girls were always the only girls in the club.

*DJ is just okay - but I seen friends do better with a Jambox and an iPhone.

*Bouncers are rude and think they can get away with anything.

*Food is comes cold and is bleh.

*This club could be okay if they changed their way of doing business. They should really encourage people to come in, instead of holding them hostage with no in's and outs. They need to realize they are not Vegas or a popular club on the strip. They also need to fix their ceilings.

*3rd time is a charm for me to never go back.

Recommendation: Go to Fibs next door.

    Just being honest.

Thanks for kicking me out on my birthday. I know I probably could have had a better attitude and not lost my shit. But it was really difficult when you were picking on me and totally raining on my parade. For my experience there, I wish I could give it 0 stars. However, the 1 star is well-deserved because the bartenders were all really nice to me and my friends.

Then again, not worth the $20 cover. If you think about it, it IS a lounge in Sunnyvale. If you're looking for a worthwhile celebration, avoid this place.

My friend guest listed us for here for my birthday party, so no idea what cover typically is. Waited in line, had to give email addresses so they can sign you up for spam...but she typo'd mine so no spam for me anyway. Guys get the pat-down, girls go right in. Not sure the purpose of the "tickets" handed to you just to hand over again after checking against the guest list, but whatever. They have a strict dress policy posted on the door, and warned my partner about his hood...although they most definitely did NOT enforce the "no visible tattoo" policy.

$3 coat check..they probably make a lot of money in winter.

Aesthetically, the place looks really nice! Trendy, nice lighting. They had Christmas decorations up, and colorful flashy styrofoam sticks on the tables people played/danced with.

I stopped in the bathroom, and they have garbage cans very prominently in all the stalls. I can't help but think this is for vomit overflow or something..? Didn't really help the overall stylish feel they were going for. And if they expect people to have to drink that much to have a good time, we were in for a bad night. Also is it that hard to put a soap dispenser by ALL of the sinks?

The drinks were tasty, but a bit on the higher side ($12 Long Island/Hurricane).  There was not much of a wait at the bar when we stopped up. Although not sure how strong they really were, I didn't get much of a buzz from my Long Island even as my second drink.

We spent most of the night on the dance floor, but there was a lot of discussion about, "should we leave?" for the first two hours. The opening DJ seemed to mistake his job of making us dance with putting us to sleep. He'd get a beat once in a while...and then promptly kill it and we'd stand there waiting for it to come back. Trying to inspire more drinking, yes, I know how these places work, but I'm still going to complain about it. You don't have to do it EVERY SINGLE SONG. And don't ask me to put my hands in the ay-ar for the DJ when the DJ stinks. We were trying to keep dancing to keep warm, because the place was freezing. All too reminiscent of the Ice Bar. I was glad I wore long sleeves.

I think it was about 11:30 when the REAL DJ came on. For the most part, he did ok. He moved rappish on occasion but most of the music was danceable and we had fun. It never felt too super crowded, and I didn't feel treated like meat (given, I wasn't alone, but in some places that doesn't stop them).

We came here for a friend's bday party on a Saturday night, and since we came later we couldn't get on the guest list. We approached the window to pay and the girl behind the counter was so rude! She said it was cash only, so we asked if we can go inside to get money from the ATM, and she said it's broken. So we asked if one of us can go inside to find our friends to get cash, she said no. We asked where the nearest ATM was, she said she doesn't know. It was late so the stores around weren't open. Her tone of voice was so blank and rude, and the bouncers were the same. We asked them again for one of us to go inside to find our friends, and they kept saying no and kicked us out the line.

I really just wanted to leave but one of our friends showed up 5 min later and was able to get us in. Inside, the place is small and crowded and to make it worse the music was horrible. The staff was being so annoying when he insisted we make space for a walkway, which he obviously didn't understand with that many people, it was impossible to make a 'walkway' inside the dancing area. Overall, the staff was rude, the music sucked, and it was hard to move without smelling the next person's alcohol breath. Not my type of place to enjoy my Saturday night.

Came here for my boys 22nd birthday. We got 2 table bottle service with 4 bottles for about $1,000. We couldn't get the tables downstairs because my friend lagged on booking the tables so we had to settle with upstairs.

Upstairs is BORING. The party is downstairs. The upside about the upstairs part is that it has its own bar.

I never got searched so much at this club. I think I got molested here by the security guards.

I wanted to grab something from the car and I had my wristband as I was heading towards the exit, there was another girl who was going to do the same thing. We both had our wristbands and as we walked to the door, the bouncer stopped her and said, "If you leave, you can't come back in." and she said, " But I have a wristband." and he told her that it didn't matter. So at that point, I did not understand why we had wristbands any more. The girl then asked how much would it cost for her to come back in if she left, and I could not believe this, the bouncer puts his hand on his chin and starts to think of a price for her to come back in and told her $30. Boy trying to make some money off of us? Hell nah, I don't need to get the present for my friend that bad, it can wait. So after overhearing there conversation, I knew that I wouldn't have any better luck.

The only fun part I had all night was when they played Gangnam Style!!

Probably one of the worst places to club, ever.

Is it even a club? I feel like I stepped into a really lame prom.

Friends decide to do 2 bottles for bottle service. Came out to be $50/ person, we had like 15 people.

You would think that an empty club like this that is so far out from civilization would have cheaper bottle service. It's just silly.

    Never again

So if you were one of the many youngin's who frequented this venue back in the old days when it was Abyss, then let me reassure you...it's the same damn thing.

The only thing that is different is that they painted it a different color and added a few nice center furnishings, whee.

The online pictures of the venue looked EXTREMELY nice and classy but once I got inside...all I could think of was the word tacky. They need to chill with the fog machine. Made the place dark, foggy and ugly. In my opinion to compare, Motif in downtown San Jose looks better.

Came here for a birthday event Friday night. We got bottle service and since there were like 20+ of us, it got capped off. Boys paid $5 and girls got in for free. They were not strict on who/how many were in the VIP/bottle service area so we all got to sit whenever we wanted. It was electrohouse night, so yeah...unce unce all night which is typical of clubs nowadays. The system was nasty and didn't do the music justice. I'd rather go to Ruby Skye.

The security were nice and professional. Some idiots were throwing money at the girls on the podium and they were hunting them down. Birthday girl got plastered and the security was very nice, not pushy or rude on getting her out of the club. Once we got outside he asked if she was okay and if he could do anything to get her home safe, call a cab etc.

THEY STOP SERVING ALCOHOL @ 12AM! WHY? My liver is thirsty...why...why. But I guess it makes sense to simmer down all the drunk ppl by 2AM, like myself...le sigh.

Would I come back? ONLY if a friend was throwing a party here. Otherwise I would not even consider coming back.

I would rate 1 star but the extra star goes to the security/staff.

Massively unfortunate experience. Shame I'm forced to even give this place one star. My mom purchased a Groupon for Pure Lounge, thinking that it would be a nice treat for the family. When my mom called to redeem it, she was met with an explosion of inexplicable hostility from the owner (shout-out to Peter -- way to assert yourself against a sweet-natured mother of two.)

Pure Lounge was closed for a while -- the label on the door said they were closed "indefinitely." Alarmed, my mom left a voicemail asking that they get in touch once the restaurant reopened. Guess what? They're open now, and no longer accepting Groupons.

Also, Peter-the-owner made sure to emphasize that he was doing the world a HUGE favor by issuing the Groupons in the first place since he would have to subsidize cost of the Groupon meals. He said he was losing money on these deals and was suing Groupon (um, good luck), and a few other things that aren't even worth the time it takes to type. In short: Boo hoo, dude.

So, have I ever stepped foot in Pure Lounge? Between their "indefinite" closed period and the owner's inexcusably hostile conversation with my mom... I have not, and I never will.

Here's hoping the place closes soon -- permanently this time -- to make way for a friendlier, more worthwhile establishment where you can count on the personnel to be polite to your mom.

    BEWARE!!!!
    - Any musicians thinking of playing here...

THE MANAGERS ARE SWINDLING CHEATS WHO DON'T GIVE A RAT'S A__  ABOUT THE MUSICIANS WHO PLAY HERE!

Any musicians thinking of playing here, be warned-  they will try and sell you on a "minimum guaranteed amount" (and MAYBE + drinks and food if you fight for it), and tell you that you'll get more money depending on if you bring in a lot of people, etc.

THEY WILL JIPP YOU!!!!   They'll try (hard) to pay you LESS than the agreed amount, and also try and charge you for any drinks, etc that they said would be comped.  They'll refuse to sign any contract you present them, so MAKE SURE to print your email out with all the agreements on it.  But they STILL won't tell you any solid numbers of people to let you know how much more you'll make, making it impossible to determine.  We also had friends make dinner reservations -which the band is supposed to get %10 of the bill from- and we didn't.

Also, the 2 managers who deal with the bands/musicians probably won't even be there when you're playing.  I've seen them there for another person's band when I was first scoping out the venue, but played there twice and neither were there the each time.  (The 2nd time with a smaller group, since that minimum guarantee of $150 would be decent for a 3 piece- but again, they tried to pay us LESS than that, PLUS charge for food and drink - luckily we had the email).

BTW this all on top of the fact that the sound SUCKS in there, so bring your own PA system.  The sound guy doesn't know what he's doing, and it sounds tinny /like garbage.

I'm NO LONGER supporting The Pure Lounge.  These guys will be out of business in NO time, unless they figure out how to propperly run their business and not  lie and cheat any musicians that might think of playing there.
