I just had the worst burrito bowl of my life. The rice was not cooked properly, had the kind of crunchy feeling to it. The bowl was a soggy mess at the bottom, literally a puddle of water! It was also smothered in tomatoes (I ordered online and did NOT ask for tomatoes). I was very disappointed and will walk the extra 20 steps to Chipotle where I have never had a bad experience!
Review Source:Tried the place again thanks to customer service guru/manager Tricia. I tried the pulled pork burrito with fajita veggies.
The meat wasn't drowned in salt and cumin and actually palatable. The fajita veggies... umm, why is there red onion and not yellow? It was so tangy and bitter, UGH, never in all my life growing up in Texas have red onions been used in fajitas. I guess that's Qdoba's twist on a classic. Bleh.
I dunno what great customer service everyone is talking about. First time I came here the employees were too busy chit-chatting and hitting on the female employee to take my order. Now, the same female employee was congenial but not friendly. There was no "hi welcome to fake tex-mex" just "what do you want to order" as soon as I stepped in front of the counter (I dunno... I need to read the menu first, k-thanks).
You guys have some competition and I just don't think it was a good business strategy to be two doors down from Chipotle. Not that Chipotle is the end-all-be-all of Guero fake Tex-Mex, but they just have more flavor.
Thanks for giving me a second chance to give you guys a second chance but it's just not for me.
