It is what it is with the food.  The place was clean and not too loud.

I just had the worst burrito bowl of my life. The rice was not cooked properly, had the kind of crunchy feeling to it. The bowl was a soggy mess at the bottom, literally a puddle of water! It was also smothered in tomatoes (I ordered online and did NOT ask for tomatoes). I was very disappointed and will walk the extra 20 steps to Chipotle where I have never had a bad experience!

Tried the place again thanks to customer service guru/manager Tricia. I tried the pulled pork burrito with fajita veggies.

The meat wasn't drowned in salt and cumin and actually palatable. The fajita veggies... umm, why is there red onion and not yellow? It was so tangy and bitter, UGH, never in all my life growing up in Texas have red onions been used in fajitas. I guess that's Qdoba's twist on a classic. Bleh.

I dunno what great customer service everyone is talking about. First time I came here the employees were too busy chit-chatting and hitting on the female employee to take my order. Now, the same female employee was congenial but not friendly. There was no "hi welcome to fake tex-mex" just "what do you want to order" as soon as I stepped in front of the counter (I dunno... I need to read the menu first, k-thanks).

You guys have some competition and I just don't think it was a good business strategy to be two doors down from Chipotle. Not that Chipotle is the end-all-be-all of Guero fake Tex-Mex, but they just have more flavor.

Thanks for giving me a second chance to give you guys a second chance but it's just not for me.

It's difficult for any Qdoba to mess-up a queso burrito, no matter how long they've been open.  Even though this location has only been open a few weeks, it did everything right and matched my expectations from other stores.  They're three doors away from Chipotle, so now I have a choice in where I want to go for tasty Amer-Mexi mall food.

The only caveat is that this restaurant is on a section of Michigan Avenue a lot of workers in the area call, "Hobo Row"--aptly named because stores along this stretch (Subway, Chipotle, Noodles & Co., et al.) seem to have a lot of bums coming into the stores and panhandling for money.  That's unfortunate because most of the restaurants now close earlier than they used to--few are open later than 8pm.

Why is everybody hatin' on the Q-dubs?

I personally prefer Qdoba over Chipotle (except Chipotle is gaining on Qdoba with their brown rice... hey Q, get some brown rice up here already!), and this location is kick-booty. I've never in my life had such friendly service at a fast-food-ish joint.

    "Hi there, sweetie!"
"What can I get you, honey?"
"Enjoy your lunch, sexy lady!" *

These are all phrases I heard while at this Qdoba, and it made my day.
*OK, fine. This one I heard in my head only, but the other 2 were from Qdoba employees, pinky swear.

I prefer Qdoba over Chipotle for one main reason... they have real veggies, not just a green pepper & onion mix. I LOVE that I can get zucchini, squash & red peppers in my naked burrito, so I feel like I've had an actual meal. And when I'm feeling like a fatty, the queso dip here is AMAZING.

The only downside to this location is the amount of seating; tons of 4-top tables and not many 2-tops, meaning, when 1 person is taking up an entire 4-top table, groups of 3 and 4 have to stand around and wait for said person to finish up. But other than that, I'm a fan.

Went there for the first time on my way to work today, and it was awesome! There was a drop dead gorgeous young lady named Tish who was genuinely excited to be there and her enthusiasm showed. I would come back here just to chat with her! And the food itself was delicious..
