My favorite leather bar. Sexy men in leather...esp Men of Color. Can be hit or miss. The music is also hit or miss. But the Muscle Pig Party every 1st Saturday of the month is wall to wall of men. Always best to have gear on or just jeans and a tank top. Very cruisy and doubtful you will go home alone. Only thing missing is a backroom! The LeatherWerks store inside the bar is great to get cockrings, harness, lube or anything else you may need. Woof!!!
Review Source:The drinks are a little expensive but they aren't the worst prices in the area, the bartenders are SUPER friendly and some of the best I've ever encountered. The rating I gave it isn't just from hype, I love the experience of shopping for S&M toys so late after the other shops have closed. I've heard people tell stories of bad things happening to them here but no one that actually ever happened to. I think it's just "ghost stories" because there is an atmosphere that if anyone tried anything you didn't like here the staff have your back 110%. If you are on the fence about coming here, do yourself a favor and stop in. It's just a fun place.
Review Source:Great place.  Less  frisky than the old days, but now--without the widespread public sexual encounters--it still manages to be a fun time with good music and hot men...especially on theme nights (best buns, battle of the bulge, undie night, pig dance and back-deck enforced dress code nights).  By the way, if you can't get serviced inside anymore, the cruisey, safe nearby  parking areas may work!
Review Source:With out a doubt the best if not the only real gay leather bar in all of South Florida. I've been to them all, and none begin to compare with the Ramrod.
Basically it's a bar offering some updated disco music, happy hours, a pool table and a nice more quite outdoor patio type of bar. It also has a Leather Werks store outlet, which is very well stocked and always has a knowledgeable attendant. Every night is a special night from "battle of the bulge," "bare butt," "pig dance," and "caged hunks," just to name a few.
It draws a good cross section from the leather and gay community and for good reason was voted World's Favorite Leather Bar, though the use of the word "World," may involve an imaginative stretch or two.
There are some dark corners and areas, but any activity is discouraged and generally does not happen. As for age groups, basically thirty something on up. This is definitely not your twinky, raver, go-go, A-List type of establishment.
Another plus is that the parking areas used by the Ramrod are always well guarded and their employees are always polite, professional and attentive to the needs of the patrons.
And yes, during tourist season the place gets packed to the proverbial rafters with "fresh meat."
Took my slave here on their once a month LeatherNite, it was our first time. We're into the fetish scene so wanted to experience something else besides the horrible fetish factory parties, which as a NYer just is not a real fetish party, more like goth kids playing fetishy.
Anyway, in NY it's no biggy hanging at "gay" clubs as a woman. But wasn't sure about how I would be received here. So I called a couple of my gay friends in town and they weren't a fan of this place, but hey they're a bit straight laced so I took their stories with a grain of salt, but still braced our selves.
Needless to say we walked in and there was no problem. Of course we were dressed appropriately for leather nite. We walked around the place and then to the outside bar in the back, and every one was quite friendly. The back bartender guy was the only one who was a bit bothered by me being there, which wasn't a problem so I removed myself from the outside bar with my delicious slave they all wanted anyway. LOL
We went inside, and found a nice spot at the main bar where the bartendar Steven made us feel quite welcome. He was clearly able to see that my slave needed a few shots to get him in the relaxing fun mode to make sure our night would start out right. We played a bit and met quite a few very kewl guys. Guys were very handsome, big and masculine there, my gay boys from NYC would love it here to find a daddy. Even though guys looked like they can rip off your head, everyone was quite respectful and we didn't encounter any snotty attitudes. One or two guys were a bit over the line due to being too intoxicated but nothing you haven't dealt with in any decent bar. The music was also great. Â And considering we were only going to stay an hour we left about 5 hours later. We love raunchy hardcore bars but it's not for everyone.
There was no other women in the place. So it's not as welcoming as say the Eagle in NYC but once inside, everyone was fabulous, but I'm sure having a hot masculine slave certainly helped break the ice for most. LOL
Definitely a good scene place to support.
I've only been in this place a few times, usually at the end of the night when everything else in the area is closing down but the Ramrod still seems to be hopping.
Ramrod's logo says "A Levi/Leather/Uniform Bar". If you go here, expect to see a lot of shirtless beefy guys, lots of denim and lots of black leather pants, vests, and boots. The place isn't huge and does get packed. Inside you'll find a dance floor in the center with a live DJ, a rectangular bar with a low ceiling to the right, a pool table to the left and porn being shown on several screens throughout the place. There's also a smaller patio area out back as well. Just inside the front entrance there's a store with toys, plugs, beads, paddles, lube, DVDs, lots of leather outfits and leather gear.
If you're into this scene, and judging from the amount of people they pack in here on a regular basis, plenty are, then this is the bar for you. Also, this bar is one of the last in the area to close at night (DJ shuts down at around 3 or 3:30 a.m.). The primary drawback is that parking can be very difficult to find nearby, especially on weekend evenings.
What A RIPOFF!!!!
Beware! The night I visited which was on a leather night, I ordered an orange juice-yes a virgin drink- and it was served in a TINY,maybe 8 oz plastic cup which was full of ice and was charged $2.75.Yes,3 cips and your done!! Well let me tell you that after complaining to the B/T (with major attitude) I drank up and left,but on my way out a fist fight broke out between a customer and a bouncer.Yes,it got pretty nasty but I escaped!! I would recommend to anyone who hangs out at this bar,to do just that and to boycott their ripoff practices!! Oh,the bar itself,is an absolute s***hole with an aroma that make you gag if you venture near the restrooms!!! Â Yuck!!
What a great name! Friendly, attitude-free Levi/leather scene, with a small patio, pool table, and a Leather Werks store in the bar. Many dark corners but I've never seen any dark-corner activity. Similar to the Faultline in LA (but not as big) and Powerhouse in SF (but not as, um, hands-on).
