For a place named after its gyros, this is not a good place for crispy beef and lamb.

The gyros are on a cone, but an unseared cone was on the autodoner. The meat on my sandwich appeared to come from a steam table; it was not seared, and because the fats hadn't been roasted and dripped off, was kind of lifeless tasting.

Onions are hard to kill, but the two tomato half-slices were watery and tasteless as well.

This was on a pita that showed little evidence of being cooked. Sure, there were some griddle marks on it, but it was soggy and greasy (probably from the unseared gyros). I had a bite of it and threw the rest out.

The sauce for the gyros came in a little cup, and was a touch separated.

The fries were average, not bad.

I accepted the special with the large cup of soda, which was...unusually large, and styrofoam. I didn't think it'd fit the cup-holder in my car, and imagined crushed styrofoam releasing a torrent of soda, so I threw half of it out.

On top of it all, they don't take credit cards. Proprietor Ram says that's to avoid the "tax"; he wants to keep the prices down. I'd rather pay the 3% more and get a properly made meal. Since he seemed sure of his choices for his business, I didn't bother complaining about the gyros.

It's really hard to wreck real gyros from a cone, but they managed.

    I won't be back.

So this restaurant just opened where a Quizno's used to be, in fact, I'm pretty sure it's the same owners.  I tried the gyros, hot dogs, and hot wings.  The hot dog buns were stale and they didn't get my toppings correct.  ( I ordered them with everything, no relish...and yeah, there was relish).  The hot wings were pretty good, but not great.  The gyros were OK.  I had the gyro plate, and the meat itself was very good, but there were hardly any onions, and only one tomato slice.  There were two pitas, but one was served underneath the meat, and it was soggy.  All in all, I'm glad I tried this place so I know not to go here when I have a taste for gyros.
