Staying at Hyatt for a flight tomorrow and the bar's location is very convenient for any hotel guests . Friendly staff but took them a while to figure out who was suppose to take care of me since it was open seating. Being by myself on this trip, the big screen TV's kept me company. I highly recommend their steak sandwich served medium rare, it was beyond my expectation a bar sandwich. I would come back again.

Average bar food.  We had a cheese pizza, buffalo wings, soda, an apple pie. Total before tip was $39. Soda was $3.50.  I think the "seat yourself and wait for a server" is a poor business model for this bar. I saw two people leave because no one noticed them for about 10 minutes. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I went to find a waiter. To be fair, this was around 4:30pm. The staff almost doubled around 4:45pm.

Cool atmosphere. One of the nicest hotel bars I've ever been to. Being near O'Hare and the convention center means lots of patrons to make the place hum.

A relative of mine was staying at this Hyatt for a night to do business, so myself and my family met up here to eat and drink. The previous reviews did sure help to alleviate my fears about this place being really bad, since I luckily realized a few hours in advance that this is where we were going to likely end up at. I'd put this at 2.5 stars.

I still can't help but admit it was average, and that I got the impression that this was better for drinks than for eating. Ordered the chicken nachos, and while they weren't bad, they didn't blow me away either. Tried a few fries that another person got, and they just seemed typical for fries. Also tried a quesadilla that a different person ordered, and I got the feeling I had better. I just only ordered a beer, but did notice that a person who ordered a gin and tonic there happened to like it. The yelper who said earlier in his/her review that you're paying for the bar's atmosphere with their food/drink prices hit the bullseye with that description. Also my dad described it correctly, by saying it felt like a million other sports bars(along those lines, but I added to him that it felt more upscale atmosphere-wise, than a typical sports bar). If I had to find a place in this area to eat dinner at and was paying(luckily my relative who was on business paid with his business account), I probably would've hit one of the nearby Park at Rosemont(next to Muvico) restaurants/bars instead. And that not surprisingly was what I suggested at first, since I remember reading about that development opening up online. More I think about it(and unlike when I first wrote this), I think I'd round down on this instead of up, particularly when you consider that I was hoping the food would be a tad better here. And I agree the service isn't the best, either.

Free validated parking is offered in their rear lot on the north side of Bryn Mawr(where it dead ends) if you go here, btw.

great little bar! quality of servers is hit-or-miss but our server, nick, more than made up for the others. whoever was making the appletinis that night was the *bomb.com*. the hotel was just okay, but the bar is a little gem!

Tiny food menu. Mostly drinks. Mostly paying for ambiance.

But the main reason I gave this such a low rating is because the service was HORRIBLE! What's with the sourpuss? Would it kill you to crack a smile? Several times the waiter looked at me like I had just spoken to her in a different language.

    Boo.

Good thing my expectations for hotel food in Rosemont were already pretty low.

Service was fine. Mojito was large, but still pretty pricy and way too sweet.  French fries were flavorless and undercooked.  The maki we ordered as an appetizer was falling apart at the seams - i.e. it was not even rolled up all the way - sort of like what happened the first time I attempted homemade sushi.

I guess when you have a captive audience at a suburban hotel, you don't have to excel at your craft though.  You just have to meet nutritional, alcohol and sports-viewing needs to occupy the guests.

Ended up here after not being able to get a reservation at Capital Grill down the street and lets just say we were impressed.  The hotel is beautiful and the food was good we ended up with the sushi and and burger and both were delicious.  The prices were also very reasonable with our bill for appetizers drink and the sushi and burger coming to $80.  Definitely coming back.

Love love love.  Get the specials.   Sushi was awesome.  The redbar sushi staff was accomodating and the food was outright delicious.  The wings bbq from the bar were huge and the menu was not overpriced for the quality and design you're getting.

    LOVED IT!  Two thumbs up.

Went here while staying at the hotel (which I really like) and ordered a beer as sort of a nightcap. I can't remember the price but the fact that I CANT remember it is probably a good thing (it wasn't absurd).

Great beer, good ambiance, lots of TV's for sports fans...but the kicker here was that after I took down about 1/3 of my drink, the bartender came over and asked if I was staying at the hotel. I said yes and he topped off my drink again and no charge.

Fantastic service and it was nice being able to just take my drinks to my room.

Hotel food/restaurants are a tricky subject...typically overpriced and bland, you leave feeling unsatisfied and broke. I'm happy to say that hubs and I hit up Red Bar for a late bite and left satisfied and not completely railed over by the prices!

It's a good looking bar and restaurant with a million TVs for all of the sports fans out there. Seriously, TVs everywhere. The menu is a combo of classic bar food, sushi and a handful of desserts. The sushi, while nothing to write home about, filled the belly for a fairly affordable price - especially considering the location. The edamame had an interesting spicy salt mix, the Negi Hamachi was tasty, but the Rainbow Roll featured quite a few pieces of tough fish. Not my fave.

We finished off the meal with the warm apple pie with ice cream...a delectable treat to end a long day. With solid service and a decent menu, Red Bar is a fine choice for a few bites at the Hyatt.

I normally wouldn't write a review for hotel food, but I was so impressed with the food here, I'm writing this!!

I was staying here and a friend came to visit, so we ended up just coming here to eat since it was easiest, and their service was super friendly, quick, and the quality of the food was really GOOD!!!

I got their cheese fries- super  DELICIOUS!!! SO crispy with a really good, quality white cheese melted on top (not your typical orange American cheese) and some spices- SOO GOOD!!

Their tortilla soup was very good too with large chunks of tomatoes, tortilla strips and melted cheese on top, their chicken sandwich was good too, and it was served with a VERY fresh tomato and cucumber salad that was seasoned just right- and generous portions too!!!

Their apple tart was delicious too- buttery with a LARGE scoop of ice cream and lots of caramel- just how I like it!!

If you stay here, you must check it out, it's TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!

We were staying in the Hyatt and because of an issue with our room received a free appetizer from Red Bar.  We weren't sure how the prices would be, and we aren't drinkers, so we didn't expect much in the way of food, and didn't plan on ordering anything but an appetizer.  We ended up walking away full of a delicious dinner.
For the appetizer we got sausage rolls, which actually was sort of a sausage and pepper gumbo inside phyllo dough that came with spicy sauce.  I'm not usually much for spicy things, but I really loved it.
I ordered quesadillas and my husband got a pepperoni pizza.  The quesadilla was great.  The chicken inside was of good quality and it came with pico and sour cream sauce that was also yummy.  It came with three pieces that were basically the size of a taco.  My husband's pizza was a 10 inch personal pizza.  It was thin crust and square sliced.  he really liked it, even though he is a very picky eater.
The only minus is the price of the drinks.  They don't have soda, and I wasn't in a mood to drink, so I ordered a strawberry fizz and was shocked to find out it was 12 dollars, which cost more than my entree.  I would definitely recommend this place for some yummy bar food, but not so much for drinks because it is a rip-off in that area, which is sad, since it is a bar.

Slow service, expensive food and sub-par sushi.

Service... it started off at "average", some tables hadn't been cleared yet so we walked past a few tables to find a clean and dry table.  Once seated service was decent with people dropping by to get our orders and make sure we knew what we wanted.  The quality of service dropped heavily after that.  The staff was often socializing with one another.  Often time I saw servers get to one or two tables and turn around before checking an entire area.  And with multiple staff servicing one area we had a few repeat questions (for drinks, if we've ordered, etc...).

Food... we had the following items:
    * Volcano Roll - 2/5 stars.  Decent presentation, but I thought the flavors were light compared to other Volcano rolls I've had.
    * Spicy Tuna Roll - 2/5 stars.  We questioned whether it was really a 'spicy' roll at all.  It was definitely tuna, but not prepared with the flavoring you'd expect.
    * Chips and Salsa - A bit more food was needed to hold us over, and though good in quantity, I was just tired of this place and we left before finishing this.

Overall, the venue is nice, modern and in a nice hotel.  It's convenient for the convention center, but not a place I'd visit if I have a car or any other options.

Sat down to eat and ordered a glass of red wine ($13) from a waiter. 15 minutes pass, and I see the waiter chatting with his friend at another table.

A new server comes over and I ask where my glass is. She disappears.

Third waitress comes over and I reorder, only to be told they stopped carrying that wine three years ago (note: I ordered by reading off the menu, not by yelling out arbitrary wine-related words).

I ordered a salmon burger ($13) and asked for a salad instead of fries. The original waiter drops off a salmon burger with with fries and no salad. I ask about the salad - he says, "If you wanted a salad why did you order fries?"

I've now stayed at this Hyatt six times and the service at Red Bar is par for the course. The food is decent (except the desserts - all premade garbage), and it's a nice looking place to have a drink, but everything is overpriced and the service is consistently bad.

Perks (and the Diamond lounge, if you're eligible) have much better food and the service to go along with it.

This bar is absolutely a scam!!!
I am currently filling a complaint with the highest level of management.
I do not expect hotel bars to charge the same as a local bar. However, I also do not expect to be ripped off either.
2 Jager Bombs, (which my guest requested) were $24. No one can defend that asinine price.
I would have refused to pay, but my card was already charged. etc...
The food was good, the service was good, but I honestly felt I needed to go to take a shower, because I was raped.
I can not recommend this bar to anyone. As the Hyatt can not justify $12 for a shot that retails for $5.

One can of Red Bull and a 750 ML bottle of Jager from a beverage distributor are $2.35 and $20 respectively.  Less than what I paid for 2 shots of Jagermeister and one can of Red Bull.

Had some delicious drinks here while waiting for the shuttle to pick us up to get to Rosewood. I took off points, however, because the service seemed to be a little off that day. But at the end up the night, way after closing hours, they let us take up a section of the bar for our impromptu BYOB late-nite crowd! All in all, a pretty nice place!

Nice sports bar inside the Hyatt O'Hare.  Even if you're not staying at the hotel, it is a great place to hang out.  The food preparation and service are good and the beer choices is quite nice.

Since I do not live or frequent Rosemont, Illinois I had no idea where to go for a drink when my buddy came to O'Hare to drop off his girl for a flight.  I found this place on Yelp and it was okay.

There is a valet service that will allow you to valet for free (for 3 hours) if you present a receipt from the bar, so that worked-out without a hiccup and I was pleased with the service of the valet.

The bar had a big selection, but we both went for the Seasonal Samuel Adams as I did not see Miller High Life on tap.  The ambiance of the place was neat, the service staff was friendly and quick.  But it is a hotel bar so the prices were a little higher than your typical neighborhood dive bar that serves Schlitz in a can for $1.

Only complaint is that I thought there would be more people at the bar, but it was about 7 degrees Fahrenheit outside.

This place is next to the Donald Stephens convention center.

It is a Hotel Bar so guess what....expensive!   Now do not get me wrong, I enjoyed myself at Red Bar and the staff is great but....just slightly expensive for my taste.

The decor is great with and excellent amount of TV's for sports viewing although they had the TV's all on the same channel.  Variety people, not everyone like watching baseball.

As I said before the staff was great and I enjoyed the Red Bar but...just hate paying that much for a drink.

Well I have to say- if you are going to end up at a bar in a hotel . . .the Red Bar is a pretty good choice.

Oh sure- the clientele is dependent on what kind of convention the hotel is hosting- but since most of the times I've been there it's been a convention of people I know, it's always a good time.

Located on the lobby level (one level up if you are in the know) of the Hyatt O'Hare, it's contemporary lines, sleek seating groupings and affable bartenders are sure to make your evening. Pick a martini from their signature list- order one of their gourmet pizzas and just relax from the day's cares.

The drinks are perfectly poured, the food- pretty good for a bar (although I've only ever had the pizza) and the music is good. I could live with out the TV's behind the bar with all the sports and news bellowing out but that is to be expected of a hotel bar.

Another benefit of the Red Bar is that it is one of my favorite places to meet people who have a layover at O'Hare. They can jump in the Hyatt shuttle and meet you away from the hustle and din of the airport for a little respite as they travel through our airport. It is always on the top of my list when people call to tell me that they have a couple of hours to kill.

If you drive- parking in the lot will set you back about $17 and the valet upfront runs $28 plus tip.  Either way- don't forget to pay at one of the machines located on the bar level or you will be unable to exit.

Whatever your reason- the next time you find yourself near the Hyatt O'Hare- check out the Red Bar. It's cool ambiance will draw you in and the drinks will make you happy you stayed.

What can you say, this is a hotel bar that's slightly upscale but matching for the most part the clientele of the Hyatt it's in.  I exclusively stay here when I'm covering the NPC Jr Nationals outside of Chicago every year and consume many an adult beverage here as well as at least one meal.

Nothing special but it's not bad or anything.  It's a solid bet and when it's open I prefer to eat here than the schmancier O'H restaurant.  But being where the hotel is if you don't wanna take a cab to get out of the area then this is about your only option.

    Cheers!

I SWEAR I reviewed this place a few weeks ago, and now suddenly the review is gone?  Was it all in my head?  Well I can't let a place slip by on me now.  I have a flight attendant friend who breezes into Chicago every so often and we try and meet her on her layovers.  She happened to be staying in this hotel so we went to meet her at Red Bar.

The hotel is super swank and modern, looks pretty amazing except for these weird Buck Rogers disco lights on the elevator.  The bar is no exception, and they even had these cool see through panels that TV projectors are aimed at so you can see the show on both sides of them.  Too bad is was all sports.  Not sure why sports is seen to be the universal thing that everyone wants to watch, personally I'd like to see episodes of Cops playing with closed captioning.  But I guess I am weird like that.

To back up a little when we first arrived we pulled up near the hotel entrance and asked the doorperson where to park.  She directed us over to a lot and said the first two hours were validated if you were eating at the bar.  This becomes an issue later.

The meal at the bar was fine, the atmosphere was fine.  The service was WEIRD. Our server must have been on something.  I don't think I've ever had so many uncomfortable pauses, moments of silence, and stares from a server.  Weirdfest '09 was totally on that night.  They also had some computer problem towards the end of the night.  Our friend went over to check on it and the manager sort of snapped on her.  Nothing horrendous but kind of weird.

When we went to go get the parking validated the guy at the front desk tells us it's only 20 minutes not two hours.  I was wondering where the conversation would go because he was being a jerk about it, and we wouldn't have parked there had we not been told we'd have two hours free.  Luckily a supervisor stepped in and took the charge off.

Okay so normally I'd two or one star this fiasco of a night, but we got to sit and catch up with a good friend for a couple of hours, I had a decent burger, and the atmosphere was visually impressive.  I am hoping the place was just a little off that night, I'd totally try it again.

I came here prior to a show for appetizers and drinks with three girlfriends.  The place was packed!  Luckily, we scored the last table.  There was a buffet special for $12 but we opted to get something tasty off the menu. The food was pretty good for bar food.   The drinks were tasty too.  I had a $25 gift certificate that I used with out a problem.

I never go out here...but if you are in the area and looking for a drink, I would recommend.
