Split into two areas, the front where the do mostly the pizza, grinder, and take-out, and the back room.  It's like Cheers, where you are always recognized if you are a regular.  There is always a great choice, especially the specials.

Rinaldi's also will accomodate parties in the back room.

I was raised on this pizza and moved away years ago. Every time I'm back in WMass, I make a point to get a pie from here. Although it's been redecorated, it hasn't really changed in 35 years. Rob Rinaldi is still running the kitchen, shouting orders to staff and greetings to customers. The pie is always good (great crust) and so are the grinders which is why they've been doing a healthy business for so long. If you haven't tried it, it's worth a visit.

Neighborhood hotspot. I got back whenever I visit family in the area. The pizza is always delicious. We killed a large between the two of us. **Belch** I will say -- overtime, the service has gotten SO much slower!!! I have no idea what is going on, but it took 45 minutes to order ONE pizza.

Great family restaurant!! They have the best pizza - so make sure you treat yourself to  a large combo! The owner is incredibly friendly and nice. Also, do not miss dining in the back room. Great vibe and deco. The staff is excellent, and the food here is amazing. Do not miss the eggplant parm, the best ever!!!

Although I'm a huge fan of their pizza I must say the service is not so good when placing an order over the phone! If I were just rating the food I'd give rinadli's 5 stars, but I must say the service I received on the phone today does not make me want to call ever again to order take out from them! Great food, but received the worst service this evening!

Since my tastes aren't very complex and I'm pretty easy to please and I don't require the best food, I hardly ever complain about food quality. But my family and I have (unfortunately) been going to Rinaldi's for years, and since I didn't think to speak up and veto the idea of going there last night (I had previously requested/demanded that we never go there again, but apparently, my family had forgotten my demand), we ended up going there for dinner, much to my dismay.

There is not a single thing on the menu that I enjoy. I've tried the meatball sub, the pizza, and last night, I had the veal parmesan, and everything is made with this awful, sweet and bland tomato sauce that probably came straight from a Sysco Foods can. There are no herbs or spices in it, forcing me to apply the salt and pepper sitting on the table to my meal, something I can't ever remember having had to do at any other time in my life. It's the same kind of food that one would eat at summer camp and, I would guess, prepared by a cook with the same level of expertise. The kitchen staff, even when the restaurant has a paltry three or four tables to serve, must imagine that they are far busier than they actually are, or they've never heard of a colander, because every single dish of pasta or vegetables arrives swimming in the water it was prepared in. Is it really so difficult to strain pasta or vegetables completely?

My memory isn't crystal clear on this next example, but I'm pretty sure I went there once and had the meatball sub, but even though I ordered it without bell peppers, lo and behold, it came with bell peppers on it.

As for the servers, they are well-meaning and pleasant, if inexperienced and slightly inept. They definitely won't win any awards for quality hospitality service, but at least our server last night was conscientious enough to catch up to us with our leftovers after we had forgotten them on the table. Lastly, the family that runs the place seems friendly and kind, so I guess they've got that going for them.

They used to have a server there that I couldn't stand, because she came by our table and chatted with my family for a good solid 15 minutes or so over the course of the meal. Sorry, but it's a rare occasion when I want the server to spend that much time with me and the people I'm eating with; if I wanted to have a prolonged conversation with the servers, I'd sit at the counter. Anyway, fortunately, this particular server isn't there anymore. She was a perfectly nice person, but just not someone I wanted hanging out with me while I was out to dinner (or any other time, for that matter).

So, overall, I don't really have anything against the people who work there. I just wish the food weren't so poor. Until that day comes, however, I am going to demand that my family go anywhere but there.

Rinaldi's is the pizza I grew up on.

We would do Pizza every Sunday when I was little and more often than not, it was this pizza. It's a Longmeadow tradition. You would go over and pick up a pizza and see about a million people you know, either eating in the shop or grabbing a pizza to go of their own. So is Rinaldi's.

The restaurant is split into two section - a crowded front room with tradition booths for a pizza parlor where everyone is sitting and eating, and a bigger event space in the back for nicer meals.

The pizza is a different sort than you'll ever get. It's heavy on the sauce with sweet crust. I've never tried anything like it since moving away, and you know, I kind of miss it.

I've heard people's complaints, that it's too tomato-y. If this is how you feel, I'd grab a sub, which they make and are pretty fantastic. I've also heard people complain that it's over-priced ... yeah, can't argue with that one, but it's still worth trying if you're hanging out in Longmeadow ... you know, if you're visiting your mother or something (what, it happens.)

My boyfriend is from Longmeadow, and we go to Rinaldi's whenever we visit! It has a wonderful home away from home atmosphere with friendly people and excellent food. I recommend the veal Parmesan sub. My boyfriend prefers the baked zit!

I was never a big fan of Rinaldi's pizzas.  I always thought they were way too tomato-y, with not enough of the fun toppings that make pizza fantastic :)

The restaurant itself isn't too bad, but the pizza... eh.

Rinaldi's pizza is overpriced and  mediocre.   The sub's are good though.
