Bertucci's Italian Restaurant

I really want Bertucci's to be a go-to spot. We live in the neighborhood, and can walk there, and having a choice between Italian and the new burger bar in the shops would be nice. The food is good, the staff is very nice, but the problem for my husband and I is the total lack of atmosphere. We enjoy grabbing a bite to eat and some drinks in a relaxed bar setting, Each time we have gone, this Bertucci's bar is way to brightly lit. I know that sounds silly, but they have nice pendant lights, recessed lighting in the ceiling, and an abundance of track lighting- seemingly all on "high". The track lighting above our booth was so bright last night, it actually created a glare on our plates, making it hard to see our food. Our server likened it to "an interrogation room". We just don't get it. There must be a reason why the new burger place is usually packed to the gills, and Bertucci's is empty. I'm sorry Bertucci's, but the Big Y food court has better atmosphere than you do.

It is Bertucci's, a chain pizza restaurant.  It is average but in light of the fact that it is a a town with 2 new restaurants that are booming they have recently remodeled and updated.  It needed it and it looks good.

The wait staff at this location is always friendly and knowledgable.  The pizza is okay and the rolls are always good.  The menu is updated but  I have not ventured to try anything but the pizza yet.  

Personally, I try to avoid chains but this one is not bad if you must chain it.

i was very impressed with my lunch in longmeadow today. OK..so its a chain...but we sensed we were dining in  some nice locally owned Italian restaurant. my son and I both had the "sausage soup" as recommended by waiter matt(he was VERY attentive--really wanted to make certain we were satisfied). i think we could have had some salad at no cost but we politely declined... my son had the individual sausage and pepperoni pizza....I had the spaghetti and meat balls. Both portions were decent in size....and extremely flavorful. Its attractive inside..brightly lit and cheerful. menu seems cumbersome but stick with the basics and you should do just fine. prices a tad high for lunch but you do get a lot of food. you get treated nicely and they serve good food.
