So I got to say this place is alright but its expensive.  I went with a couple of friends and we had to buy a bottle to make our night cheaper.  Beers were around 9 bucks with tip included and mixed drinks ran about 15 bucks so your almost better off buying a bottle if you are with 4 or more people it will average out to about the same amount of money for a lot more drinks.

They need more help for outside when they have customers. Nice atmosphere and good food and drinks for the pool

I love this place!  I go there almost every Saturday and always have an amazing time!  The music is awesome, the bottle prices are very reasonable (only $200 for vodka), and the crowd is by far the best in Miami.  Most venues have a immature crowd of misfits walking around.  This venue is refined, sophisticated, and the service is impecable!

This Saturday their having an 80's Theme party to which I just got an invitation to.  I highly suggest everyone goes!  I went to the last one and had a wondeful time.

Wow, went to this place on a Saturday night. It is in the lobby of the Epic Hotel right to the left, the parking is actually not that bad with valet for $10 which beats most beach parking. The bar was pretty packed and the bartenders were really slow so getting drinks was a mission and they were way overpriced. The music was really horrible disco-techno blends. To top it off there is not even a bathroom inside of the bar, you have to go out into the hotel lobby then back through "security" for the bar. This place just left a bad impression on me, its really just a glorified hotel bar. I think this place is more designed for the 30-45 year old "I can still party" crowd.

Really its about 3.5 stars...but I rounded up.

I had a great time here the other night with some friends. We had bottles in the VIP so we never had to worry about waiting to get drinks or bar tabs or anything like that. We had the couches so when we got tired of dancing (which we did a lot of) we could relax and catch our breath before we jumped back into dancing again. There's not to much special about the venue...its well decorated, yet small and the outside patio is nice to get a breath of fresh air...but nothing out of this world. What made me decide to round up instead of round down was the DJ. The mixes that he threw on were some of the sickest I've heard in any club/lounge. The guy is truely a master of his craft! He didn't just stick to one or two types of music but spanned over several different genres so there was something for everyone...and he blended it all with an artistic perfection. I will return to the Epic simply to hear his mixes.

I liked this place before it was a cool spot to be.  Went there last saterday damn when did hialeah show up to this place.  I thought the high priced drinks would keep them away

I am giving this bar such a low rating due to the fact that I did not get a chance to try any of their cocktails, so it is based simply on the atmosphere. And what a gorgeous atmosphere it has!

I ended up there on a late Sunday afternoon with a guest from out of town. With the wonderful balmy nights we've been having, relaxing on the patio was in order with a rather expensive diet coke in hand ($4 per glass).

Seeing Miami as it lights up and having a view of the bay, including all the pleasure boats passing to and fro was quite enchanting. I enjoyed being there, and for once, felt as though I was enjoying the posh lifestyle that you hear so much about in Miami but rarely experience

River lounge has a well laid out floor plan, but it definitely needs music worth dancing to. I found myself watching the movie playing on all the flat screens (The Usual Suspects) because the music was just awful. The TVs would have been put to better use showing music videos or music visualizations, those psychedelic, trippy "screensavers" that iTunes has available. That would have given the place a little more ambiance. Not a place I will visit again soon.

Been to several events here and I have to say it is perfectly set up for it. Can't beat the view, $5 valet and good indoor/outdoor options. You can even pull right up on your boat. If you have an event to pull off, I would suggest this place because it holds lots of people and they are willing to work with you.

It's ok. That about sums up River Lounge.

Located on the ground floor of the Epic Hotel, Miami's first ever Kimpton property River Lounge is where Biscayne Bay meets the Miami River.

Maybe it's the decor or the lighting, probably both but this place feels cold and uninviting. Actually, come to think of it maybe it was the po-mo take on chandeliers and the lack of enough bartenders. Yes, no one likes standing in a badly-lit, bar waiting too long for a drink. They have floor-to-ceilings windows next to the bay so I hope they decide less is more.

    Bright side?! Location, Location, Location
Sit outside, take in the view of Brickell Key and the passing boats just make sure to order 2 drinks at a time to cut back on the wait time.

Note: This place is more of a bar on weekdays and a clubby lounge on weekends.

Ok, maybe this place could be a 5 star and from the reviews from other Yelpers it might be - but I'll never know.  Our crew went just after happy hour, nicely dressed, determined to check out the new place. It was slightly crowed but not packed by any means. This skinny bald doorman dude behind the ropes constantly quizzes us on how much we intend to spend in the place; will we be having dinner there, will we be purchasing a bottle? Hell no we came for a quick drink,  butt head. So after 5 minutes of his nonsense I announce "lets leave".  We go to the valet and they charge us full price, $14 to get our car out because of no validation. River Lounge you are over rated.  The fool at the door denying us access to spend our hard earned cash for your over priced drinks should judge himself before judging others.

Sorry not a fan... a place like this would be "ok" if more centrally located to stop by for a drink,  but since there's nothing around it (except all the homless and thugs)  it is just not worth going here.

I did a touch and go on a weekend night (forgot friday or saturday)  and the music was not precisely good, the crowd was bad (I may be too snobby but this reminded me of that nightmare called "Centro" that once marred the otherwise beautiful facade of the Conrad hotel!)

In a nutshell, it is a small bar, with a 2nd floor that is totally disconnected from the first floor, I saw more pervs than anything staring down girls cleavages form up there,  and a little outdoor patio that lacks the charm or coolness of the brickell anchors that are Novecento, Segafredo, Lolita.  1 star is mean, I'll give two...  some might like it but I am not going back... to put it in one word... "blah"   I even think the area upstairs "area 31" is nicer.

This is a little gem that I had somehow managed to overlook until now. What a pretty place, impressive view, nice, attractive staff, and good looking crowd. I went for a mixer and had only one complaint...the layout upstairs, although quite nice, is not entirely conducive to networking. If there are too many people up there it gets way too crowded with the small bar and trying to maneuver around people.

Aside from that, the downstairs is spacious and open with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the river. The outside seating, right on the river, is also really nice and soothing. The upstairs is nicely decorated and very well suited for more intimate gatherings. Staff (bar, valet, and Epic) was very friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks were moderately priced, $10-$16 depending on what you are looking for (not happy hour specials - not sure if there are any). They carry some nice alternative liquors like organic vodka and Veev (one of my fav's).

I'd like to check out this place under less 'formal' circumstances on another day that wasn't rainy/muggy to enjoy the outdoor component...in the meantime, I really enjoyed what I've seen so far!

    Dear River Lounge,

You are quickly regaining my approval and showing Miami that you can truly be the next "IT" Hot Spot!

The earlier hours, as in the Happy Hour time frame and until around midnight, are pretty quiet and dead.  Maybe some more Happy Hour promotions could be done to get a better scene.  Also, the door guy does not need to be super, ultra ridiculous during these hours either.  Most people come from WORK on Friday Happy Hour, and are therefore dressed in jeans and other less fabulous items of clothing.  Try to relax a bit in that department.

After midnight, this place got JUMPING!  It was really packed with tons of young, good looking people, where as in the earlier hours I noticed a much older crowd.  We were upstairs in VIP with some friends that had a table, so we really go to enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed by the crowd.  Plus, from above you can view the madness and decided when it's time to mingle your way in.

The bottle service was awesome and on point.  Our waitress never allowed our ice or mixers to empty and refilled them regularly.  At the bar, the bartenders are really busy and can take a minute to take the order, so the best bet (if you're downstairs) is to sit a table area where a waitress can serve the group in a much more enjoyable and hassle-free environment.

I met the owner (who's name escapes me and business card is on the dresser at home) who was quite nice, friendly, and talkative.  He was letting us know other places he's managed and worked and gave us some insight for the direction he wants to take River Lounge in.  I'm all for it and look forward to seeing some changes with promotions, new DJs, and a better vibe come about here.

River Lounge, you are beautiful and have the potential, so I am excited to see what you're going to bring to the table in the coming weeks.

    See you soon River Lounge!

    Truly,
    Sabrina*

Ok...so this is one of my new favorites spots. It is located on the ground floor in the EPIC. The place is bi-level. It has a round bar in the center on the lower level and another bar upstairs. My favorite area is the outside deck which is situated right on the river. You can drink, laugh with friends and watch the boats go by.

The atmosphere is chic and the crowd is sexy. If you have not been, you must go!

After spending all day at a mind-numbingly boring seminar at the Hyatt, my friends and I were in need of a change of scenery to get our drink on.  Enter the River Lounge.

We were planning on heading up the 16th floor and checking out Area 31, but on another friend's recommendation, headed into River Lounge instead.  Located in the lobby of the Epic Hotel, the main bar over a panoramic view of the Miami River, from an up-close-and-personal angle.

There are seats all along the circular bar, as well as several little nooks inside, and lots of space for lounging along the riverfront.  The decor is very tasteful - lots of dark wood - and it makes for a relaxing setting.  They do happy hour from 5-7pm, and wine, beer, champagne, and well liquors are all discounted, though I'm not sure how much.  We ended up paying $9 a glass for champagne, which, if that's the happy hour price, you won't catch me there at any other time!

The bartender, Kellan, and the waitress, Melissa, were great - very friendly and eager to please.  The place was dead when we arrived, but by the time we left a couple hours later, a few more people had trickled in.  Definitely a spot to check out for happy hour!!
