Rosebud Prime

The husband and I went here for Valentine's Day. We chose this place because we love good steak and it's close to the Bank of America theatre, where we had a show after dinner. The restaurant has sophisticated and romantic decor and two floors.

The food and drinks are very delectable! I ordered the filet mignon, which has absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the strip steak, which he said was scrumptious as well. He also ordered an Old Fashioned (bourbon), which he said was one of the best he'd ever had. At the end of the meal, our waiter handed me a single red rose, which I thought was such a romantic and lovely touch.

I took off a star because when I called to make a reservation, the lady on the phone told me that a 6 pm reservation would be ample time for our 7 pm show. That was definitely not the case. My experience at the restaurant would have been nicer if we didn't have to rush in order to be on time for the show.

We ate here prior to going to a show around the corner. Our waiter was great about making sure we stayed on time. The asparagus soup that was on special was delicious. The bone-in filet wasn't my favorite I've had, but it was good, although slightly over-charred. The mushrooms with which it was served were great.

Probably the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and really on top of things. He suggested drinks for us right away that we both loved and helped us pick out good choices on the menu. He stopped back the right amount of times and was really sweet and nice to us.

The food was also really, really good! I went with the brick chicken, while my boyfriend opted for the sea scallops. We also got a side dish of potatoes to share, as suggested by our server. The dishes were both great. The scallops were huge and delicious, and my chicken was moist and had great seasoning/sauce. It was also huge, it was an entire De-boned chicken! I was so glad my boyfriend helped me out a little with it! Since we were just visiting town, there would have been no way to take it home as left-overs which would have been a shame. As it was, we only had to leave a small amount of it behind. I would highly suggest this dish to anyone going to Rosebud Prime!

The bread basket was another highlight of our meal. It was large, and had several different types of delicious breads to try. As a serious bread lover, my boyfriend was overjoyed with the basket. It did have the most variety I have ever seen in a free bread basket, and all the types were very good.

I would go back here again for the food, but it gets 5 stars and my recommendations because of the service!!
