Definitely agree with the other reviewers in the sense that this place is very similar to Candlelight Inn down the road but the two differences that that 1) this place is a lot less crowded and 2) this place is more like a restaurant than a bar/restaurant. Â This restaurant holds a lot more people than Candlelight and I've never had to wait. Â The food is pretty good and the portions are great. Â The waitstaff is generally pretty good, although I have been here and they have been a bit slow. What is nice though about Rudy's is that they have some cool nights - last night I went, they had a singer who was pretty good and they have dollar off drinks sometimes.
Review Source:From the outside it looks pretty dull, but once you go inside you're bombarded by nothing but TVs all over the place. We went there to watch two basketball games. On both occasions I had two different salads- the Buffalo Chicken the first time and then the Harvest salad. The buffalo chicken was ok, but the iceburg lettuce did not compliment the sauce coating the chicken- at best it was a 2.5/5.
Now the Harvest salad was a complete WIN for me. Perfect mesh of crunchy walnuts, cranberries and chicken- I highly recommend it!
Now as it is more of a sports bar, they do hit a homerun with their ribs. Let me just say DDANNG!! Those are some fingerlickin' good ribs boy! Get that with some mac & cheese with some sweet potato fries and you'll be super happy.
As far as the service, well they can be slow as molasses at this place. They don't care to help you even if they see you're just waiting there. We probably waited like 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. Eventually we did get a really sweet girl named Tiffany who was really nice about letting us stay until the end of the basketball game we were watching despite having finished our meal and dessert. Personally I think she's the nicest person there!
I am not a wings eater, and people in my part did enjoy those, so perhaps it is unfair of me to judge this place. But this place should be on Restaurant Impossible. Maybe Robert Irvine can fix it. Bland tasteless food, which I assume is all previously frozen, indifferent service, mediocre drinks, drab decor.
I felt like I was in a hotel sports bar in anywahere USA. There are so many places in Westchester to get good quality burgers with good service and in a nicer atmosphere. This is no better than an Applebees with alot of TVs. Not my kind of place
drove by a couple of times finally decided to try it came with my brother  we always go to the sportspage in white plains during football season food is not bad  our server was nice and and friendly  would have prefered a booth  but we were seated  near the restrooms  would be ok if we had a prostate  issue like my buddy porcelli  also i hope it is set up differently for  football season  seats far away from screens  however overall like rudys and would go back
Review Source:We had lunch on a Saturday at Rudy's. There were very few diners there at the time (we are not the type who would go to a sports bar during peak times), and expect thing might be a bit different during busier times when resources are stretched. Wait staff was extremely attentive and personable. Perhaps they learned from earlier negative feedback. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful, professional and cheerful. We had humus with vegetables and pita, all of which was very fresh, wings which were great, and burgers which were excellent and beyond expectation. The menu is an extended sports bar menu with many interesting options including daily specials, however, this is not the place to go if you want organic mesclum greens and nutritious whole grains (although they did have a heart-healthy gazpacho that day). Taking into account the quality of food, the price of food, and the outstanding service, I think this place deserves all 5 stars.
Review Source:When Hartsdale finally got a decent looking, non-NY priced restaurant sports bar, whose food held promise of not sucking or being from an obvious chain, I was amped. This place's environment is great--everything you would want from a top level sports bar, on the level of White Plains, with the exception of B Wild Wings, in terms of # of screens and action on the TV's. Â
Items that my family dig include their wings, boneless wings with an impossibly interesting # of dip choices, a really good pulled pork sandwich, and the jaw busting Al burger. My son's waffle fries looked pretty tasty as well. If you're trying to do things on the lite side and want a dumbed down version of one of their chicken wraps with no sinful dressing globbed on, and a salad instead of fries, they also gladly accommodate you; they also have a really healthy and tasty hummous and veggie app platter..
The only blips on the radar screen last night were:
- for some reason, they outright refused to give us silverware for about 30 mins. We had to share our apps with our fingers, were reprimanded that set-ups "were coming" by the waitress in kind of a kurt tone, and eventually had to demand silverware, when all of the other tables had set-ups on them, just siting there! Very weird and pretty frustrating.
- the wrap around my grilled chicken and chopped tomatoes was cold to the touch (it was a custom order, so I can't imagine that it was a pre-prep/heat up issue)
Other than that, we're cool with the place. Good family spot as well. Prices are not crazy as other Hartsdale and Scardale places can be.
They served me RAW uncooked chicken and they had the nerve to charge me for the sides which was more then the plate itself. Waitress was busy socializing with co-workers rather then be attentive to the table. All that food is frozen, wings were chew and the mac and cheese was watery. I can not explain how horrible this place is when it comes to food.
Review Source:I've been to Rudy's a couple times before. Each time it was absolutely and completely average. However, I live nearby so I come back simply for the convenience.
It was my experience one Thursday night that prompted me to write this review. First of all, they are blaring arguably one of the worst restaurant playlists I've heard in my life. Party Rock Anthem and Shots? I came to watch the basketball game, not "Get Low".
Next, the service. Everyone is certainly friendly. Unfortunately, it seems much of the staff is more interested in socializing with regulars instead of getting your order correct. Put simply, they've gotten something wrong with my order on more than one occasion.
Last, the food. It's so perfectly average that I can't possibly come up with a way to describe just how average it really is. Anyone who compares the food, specifically the wings, to Candlelight deserves to be banished to Rudy's for all of eternity. It's not even remotely a competition. I will admit, however, that the fries at Rudy's aren't too shabby.
I could go on for an hour, nitpicking at things I disliked but I hate to be so critical, Rudy's has a lot of potential. They just need to get their shit together.
This place is good competition to Candlelight. It's got good food with an old school feel. The service is ehh sometimes there and sometimes not, but when they do serve you, they are with smiles.
The food quantity and quality is great. It's good ol bar/comfort food. Great wings, burgers, pulled pork, fried mac&cheese balls, EVERYTHING is good, but an artery clogger. You will leave here with a food coma, so be warned.
The place is spacious with an abundant amount of TVs. I do appreciate the parking lot, and it's never as crowded as Candlelight, and they accept credit cards. Cha-ching. This place is def worth a visit.
I especially love the old school music that they play. It brings back memories. Very nostalgic.
After seating ourselves at the bar (because there was no host/hostess to be found by the sign saying please wait to be seated), we were hoping to receive prompt service....we were wrong. After multiple attempts to flag down the 3 waiter/ress/bartender we order two beers which were automatically put on a tab. Something felt fishy so we checked the yelp reviews. Despite the reviews we decided to order food anyway. The wings we received sadly proved the reviews right. Bathrooms were nasty. Beer/food overpriced. On top of it all our check was titled "kids," we may be young but we are clearly not kids. I guess that's what you get when the bartender is passing you over to take shots at either end of the bar.
Review Source:awful
waited forever for food - Â nasty waitress who go the order wrong and wouldn't admit it - just kept telling us that we said chicken nachos, not chilli nachos... as uninspired an opening of a new place as Ive ever seen... The HURRICANE across the street has NOTHING to worry about...
Really nice addition to Central Ave! Â Lots of beers on tap - food was good, regular bar type food selection - wish they had veggie burgers and more healthier options to choose from though..
Looking forward to the karaoke, comedy and trivia nights they told us that were coming soon! Â Overall nice place, would definitely return!
My wife and I and her friend went to eat there about two weeks ago and what we experienced was so unsatisfying that the only time I would go there agains to pick up my drunk friends if they needed to. Â Where should I start, the wings were dry and underseasoned and their version of hot was mild at best. Â Then we ordered dinner, I had had there bbq brisket. Â Brisket??? Â It was more like a sprial ham sliced like brisket and covered with what they call bbq sauce. My wife had some type of chicken sandwhich and she was not pleased with it either. Â Our friend had a salad and it was unsatisfying and didn't taste fresh at all. Â So after being disappointed with the wings and dinner we wanted to leave this bad night behind us so we asked for the check. Â Here's the best part, I like ranch dressing with my wings, so they brought a normal size small cup portion so when I recieved the check they had the audacity to charge me $0.75 for the ranch dressing! Â Really?! Who does that anymore? It's not the $0.75 that erks me its the point of even charging for it. Â The food is definetly a no go. Â To watch a game, a drink, possibly. Â Seriously they can't mess up beer.
Review Source:Stopped in Rudy's on there opening weekend. The place looks great well laid out roomy nice big tables not cramped bistro style tables. Well chosen selection of tap beers . The bar staff are friendly and attentive. In enjoyed me visit I came back this Saturday after working late. This time I also had a Burger. It was cooked as ordered med to well good size nice amount of fries.
Review Source:Visiting the area from Boston and stopped by Rudy's with friends for a late night snack and a few beers. Got there late after what seemed to be a busy night for this new restaurant and staff were nothing but nice and accommodating. Â We ordered off the late night menu and had the hot wings, mac and cheese balls, corn fritters, pulled pork empanadas, and shared the steak sandwich. Â The wings had a nice kick and they gave us wet naps which were a nice touch. Â Mac and cheese balls had a crunchy outside and the corn fritters were a bit sweet which was a good thing. Â The pulled pork empanadas had a smokey flavor and were probably my favorite. Â Steak sandwich was tender. Highly recommend going especially with a group of friends or to go watch a game.
