This bar is the epitome neighborhood bar! Great booze, beer and pool... And lots of great people to hang out with. A covered smoking deck is great for the cold, rainy winters, but the picnic tables are great for the rare sunny afternoon! All the bartenders are awesome... Friday and Saturday night you should come in and let Adie & Paul serve you up a killer drink.

The other review is accurate. I have been coming to the Wood for years and I will continue. The drinks are stiff and full size, good selection of beers, friendly atmosphere and cute bartenders. Sometimes there is a lot of people and sometimes it is kind of quiet. Either way it is always a good spot.

As a dive bar connoisseur it is always nice to go out of town and find a solid neighborhood bar where you feel like a local. My boyfriend's brother lives in Eureka, and because he lived on the grid for 15 years he has the same aesthetic for Sac dive bars as I do, so he knew where to take us.

2 pool tables and a good jukebox - really all I can ask for with my beer. We closed the bar down one night and the place was pretty hoppin' after 9 on a weekend. I will be back.
