I WAS going to give this place a decent review because their fish and chips are to die for, but not after the experience we had last night.

A group of us had a birthday dinner here last night and were having a great time, but the customer service is shit. When we ask you for dinner rolls for a table of 8, why would you bring us 4 rolls? our glasses sat empty for far too long...were in a pub, if my glass is empty I'm expecting another beer and i would hope i don't have to beg for it.

what really ruined out night though was our server accusing us of not paying him enough money on our tab. we all stood outside the building and talked before we left and he came out to confront us that we shorted him $60 on out $185 tab. We all thew down money and counted it twice before we left to make sure it was all there AND tip. we were all pretty confused seeing that we had all just counted out the money. we  were all willing to pay the extra cash til we decided to go back in the pub and have a look just to make sure. it wasn't til we went back in that they magically found our missing $60 laying on the floor under the table. all our cash was in the middle of the table underneath our tab and weighted down when we got up and left....we all felt like we were being scammed. not sure if ill go back here again after that kinda bullshit.

When Lost Coast Brewery last minute cancelled our reservations for 12 because their oven and grill were broken we were scrambling for a place to celebrate my 30th birthday with the family.  I saw Gallaghers was nearby and called. They were able to accommodate us with no notice and even helped with my birthday cake. The food was great (I recommend the corned beef, shepherds pie and fish and chips), the beer was great, the service was great.  It was a loss for lost coast and a gain for Gallaghers.  Thanks!

For me in reviewing an Irish pub is the pint of Guinness. For reasons I do not pretend to understand the pint of Guinness can vary from the sublime to almost undrinkable. You expect an Irish pub to deliver the sublime or at least as close to it as you can get outside of Ireland. The pint here was not bad but not close to sublime. This was actually strike two. Strike one was getting someone to serve it to me. There were four other people at the bar all well provided for but the waitress was far too preoccupied giving a seminar on batting technique (seriously) to notice customers with a thirst on them. I went from waving to ahem to EXCUSE ME before I got attention. What actually worked was her friends pointing out to her that maybe we should be served. Things got better after that but the damage had been done.
