Nocturnum

We already don't like coming here because of the scene and all the cops outside, and the ridiculous wait to get a drink at the bar....but last night the beast that was taking money at the door actually tried to pretend I didn't exist as I was talking to her about getting my incredibly overpriced, prepaid VIP ticket to a show, which I had the receipt for in my hand.  Who does that???  She literally ignored me and looked away as I was communicating.  What happened to having friendly sexy ladies at the door? Or big beefy door guys....no instead they put rude ugly cows up front.  Yikes

Oh yah, and someone got tazed there last night

Nocturnum has very mixed opinions when you talk to people, some people really dislike it because they got kicked out or had some issue with the manager? So far I've had nothing but fun times here. The building is kind of strange it use to be a restaurant and the lighting is kind of crazy in the bar area, it reminds me of a vampire bar.... think of fangtasia on true blood! But it's actually a great venue for concerts with good amount of space- separate area to sit with booths and two dance floors (during big events the bathrooms are a bit too crowded though).....
The last event I went to here was NYE and they made sure they had security watching out for people and the security can be a big deal in my opinion... it's 100% necessary to have, yet you don't want a bunch of jerks on power trips as your security either. I had no problems with anything like that. The bartender (forgive me I forgot her name) I should know sense she's always the same person.... anyhow, she is extremely nice and unlike many other bars I have never been ripped off (falsely charged) by the bartender here. One reason for that might be because they ONLY TAKE CASH. I know that sort of sucks but honestly it's a good thing because less issues arise and your card can't be over charged (don't you just love that when the bar tenders tip themselves?) Another good point about Nocturnum is that most of their events are decently priced. I wish they had more deals for the ladies like getting in free before midnight or drink specials but nobody around here has gotten that part right yet! xo

A fun dance space in downtown Eureka.  I like the lounge atmosphere just beyond the long L-shaped bar area.  There's a separate dance floor area, which has a stage for anyone to get up on.

Trying to describe Nocturnum makes me realize just how maze-like it is.  But that's the best part -- you can choose your scene and move around as you like.
