Loved the band last night! The crowd and music tends to vary here, but always a great time. Â I ordered a Cesar salad and chicken and beef Satay. It came with two dipping sauces and was nice and light. I also ordered the skinny sinless strawberry mojito....it was also very light and refreshing. This is always a fun place to go with friends.
Review Source:Sambuca and I have a history together. It's a great place for a date night, a hidden gem of a happy hour spot, a reasonably priced lunch and a great place to a social/networking event. The live band really brings the place to life in the evening time and during patio season (that's actually a season here in Texas folks), their large patio does the trick.
Review Source:Love the ambiance of this place, and that is all I have to say.
Just kidding, I have more to say. But seriously, the best part of my meal was the live music. Â Whoever they were, they helped Sambuca get a 3 star rating instead of just 2. Â The atmosphere was nice, and the room was quite empty for a Sunday night. Â There's a beautiful outdoor seating area, but we opted to sit indoors so that we could be closer to the live music.
We started off with the seared tuna ($15) with sesame seeds dipped in Asian plum sauce. The color of the tuna was pale with absolutely no taste, but the sauce tasty which made it a little more bearable to eat. Next, was a bowl of shrimp and crab bisque. For $7, I thought it was a great value with a decent size. It wasn't overly rich, just the right amount of creaminess. Though, it is a little too liquid-y for a bisque, either way I enjoyed this dish the most. For entree, we decided on crab-stuff salmon ($28) and a medium rare ribeye ($31). I know what you're thinking "You just ordered steak at a non-steak house!!", but since there were a lot of steak options, why not. Â The salmon was very overcooked on a bed of a savory and creamy veloute sauce, and paired with some steroid-pumped asparagus. Â The salmon tasted so fishy that I couldn't take more than a few bites. Â The asparagus was the size of a large carrot, and I much prefer the smaller variety. Â The steak was also over cooked to a medium well. Â Apparently, my co-worker experienced the same issue when she was here. So be cautious when ordering steaks, they might come out over cooked.
I was still a little hungry from my barely finished food, and decided to pass on the desserts due to the luck I had with the food. It would have been nice to sit there a little longer to enjoy good live music and company.
