My office has been ordering from this place since it was called Samurai Sushi (but now Mt. Fuji).
We love the Lunch Specials, which are very reasonably priced, and offer a lot of food.
I'll get the two roll combo special, with Spicy Crunchy Tuna & Shrimp Avocado and comes with soup and salad. We loved their fast delivery which is usually less than the 30 mins they tell you.
When not ordering from the Lunch Specials, I usually get the  Rock & Roll and New York Roll.

Okay food and good atmosphere but not very fresh fish. Overall though, a good place to go for dinner.

This restaurant has been called Mt. Fuji for quite awhile now.  The sushi is solid... I eat there a few times a month and have brought friends there many times.  I would say that what they offer is average or above sushi... there's nothing 'wrong' with it but at the same time there's nothing really outstanding about the place.

Don't misunderstand - I still eat here and I do like it a lot, but I could wish that it was of a somewhat higher standard (try Taka Sushi in Summit and you'll see what I mean).

My favorite restaurant!!!  End of story.  Just my type of place.

Maki combination: tuna roll, salmon roll, yellowtail roll, cucumber roll with miso soup and salad for $15.  Can't beat that.  And it's so tasty too!!

NO GOOD! STAY AWAY!   Very bad food.  Poor quality.  Waaay too overpriced.  This is Japanese food for Americans who don't know any better.  If you know anything about Japanese food or have at any point in your life had  good sushi or noodles you will be disappointed; I promise you.  The Soba noodles were just horrible.  They were cheap, flavorless and lacked texture.  The sushi smelled like it was going bad and we couldn't even finish our dishes.  Above all they had the nerve to charge us top dollar.  We just paid and left still hungry.  Just so very disappointing.  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

A great Japanese restaurant to stop at. We stumbled onto this place this past weekend while walking around "downtown" Maplewood and decided to give it a try. We left very satisfied and full. They've got a pretty standard menu when it comes to Japanese fare (apps, entrees and sushi) all at very reasonable prices. The best part of it was the fish was all very fresh. We had a few different rolls, seaweed salad and gyoza and all came out perfectly made. While we were only in here for a late lunch, it left us very happy and wanting to come back for more. We grabbed a menu to keep at home and reading it in the car on the way back made up our minds....we'll be back again soon. Looks like a fair amount of combos to be had and many choices to satisfy your palette, no matter what you're in the mood for.

Pretty standard fare at undeserving prices.  We had a sampling of both sushi and non-sushi dishes and were pretty underwhelmed by the flavor and the price. For barely meeting the taste threshold, the prices should have been 50% less.

I eat here once a week, so that should tell you I'm a fan.  The fish is fresh, and the service is good.  The lunch prices are amazing.  If you haven't tried it, get a bento box of the sushi lunch.   We all love the fried ice cream dessert...big enough for two.

The owners of this original chain called Samurai Sushi went to my parents church, and were very nice and generous, which is why it became so successful.  They could no longer handle having so many restaurants and business so they sold this one off, and now it's called
    Mt. Fuji.

As soon as it changed hands, it went downhill.

The food, the portions, the freshness, all disappointed me.  They really are money hungry I think, since both times I ordered the Tonkatsu  lunch, the pork was thin as paper, and dry (no wonder), and ridiculously small, even for a thin petite woman like myself.  The Tuna Tar Tar tastes different, and they've even cheaped out on their plastic containers!!! haha  it's some weird container that I can't even open and break fingernails in the process.

I don't think I'll ever come back here again unless I HAVE to since this is the only Japanese place in the area for delivery, but even so I will try to look for some place new.

    DON'T COME HERE!

I came her for lunch twice and was impressed with the quality of the fish. We enjoyed the sashimi lunch as well as five rolls-spicy scallop, spicy tuna, volcano, shrimp tempura and spicy salmon.
The service was good and we had a wonderful meal!

it is run by Chinese, not Japanese.
But the food is not bad, and their lunch special is pretty affordable.

As a disclaimer to my review I have only had the pleasure of eating lunch here. Throughout my countless number of visits to this place (one time driving an hour out of the way to eat here) I have never been disappointed. The sushi was always delicious, fresh, and filling. The soup is right on with temperature and consistency. The atmosphere is fun and new. Service, excellent. Five stars speaks for itself. Great experience, every time.

Definitely 4 stars for the sushi and sashimi at this restaurant, where I have eaten many times. It's a favorite Japanese restaurant of mine, along with Wasabi in Berkeley Heights. The service, however, is spotty. The place is particularly busy on weekends, so once your server brings your food, it may be a while before you ever see her again. Waiting for a table can also be a royal pain. You're crammed into a tiny waiting area alongside the cash register, where you are constantly jostled and crushed by customers, servers, and a never-ending stream of people coming in for takeout. Tables located near this front area are subject to the same crush of people. The last time I was there with my wife, we waited 20 minutes for a table, even though they had some 4's available. If the food weren't worth it, we would have gone elsewhere. Bottom line: good place, but best to go when not so crowded.
