Despite being a tad bit '70's tacky and completely empty during lunch hour on a Thursday, the food was quite good and the service was quick. It is a bit pricy, even for kosher food. When we arrived a few minutes earlier than expected, the cashiers/bus boys worked quickly to get our order together. All in all, for takeout lunch meeting food, it hit the spot.

Although the food is mediocre, the service is much worse.
I walked in to pick up an order and a few people lined up behind me. This young boy behind the counter, no manners at all, saw me standing there and continued to go about his business as if I wasn't there. He was fidgeting with paper, walking back and forth between the counter and the kitchen and even managed to pick his cell phone up to check it. Finally he comes back to the counter and takes the person behind me. If you've been there, the place isn't big at all so I can't even excuse it! He then, after taking that order walked away AGAIN! My food was literally on the counter waiting to be picked up. If it weren't for me picking up and order for the office that had already paid, I would of been out of there.

After 15 minutes of waiting he finally acknowledged me. I received my bag and left. Needless to say I will never step foot in this place again.

Lets work on your customer service people, your place isn't that popular or big . . . .

**The prices on website are incorrect--the food's actually more expensive!"** I was buying for my coworkers and me. Placed an order to pick up. Had everyone's money ready to go. I notice the total is $7 more than what i expected. I question it and ask that they repeat my order. They do so along with a slight annoyance attached. Then, they say "Oh, did you order off our website? Those prices are wrong. We're in the process of fixing them." No apology or anything. Poor customer service. I left highly annoyed and a little angry!!

Impulse eating decisions are usually hit or miss for me.  The hits generally occur since I am starving, which really means the misses are that much worse.  Where do I start with this place?  I guess first off, this isn't really a vegetarians ideal span.  I ordered the veggie wrap, asked for no onions, which they totally ignored and then told them I wanted the house chips as my side.  The guy immediately asked if I was a vegetarian and when I told him I was, he said the house chips were not veggie, so I just told him the bagged ones were fine.  I get my order home and it is house chips and an onion wrap basically.

Even worse was the order took forever to make despite the place being empty.  On top of that I got to listen to the guy curse out multiple phone orders during the wait.

I'm not kosher but my niece is.   We had her bridal shower there this afternoon.  She had suggested getting the food from this place and after a lot of research (with not many good results) I had lunch here to check the place out.    Not pretty and in a boring almost run-down mini strip mall -- the food here is worth stopping for.   Also notable was very good customer service (particularly Mayer and David).   Mayer worked with me on the menu choosing things to please everyone.   There were last minute requests for a couple of customized wraps and Mayer took care of our guests.   We had several salads, pastas and wraps.   Also terrific sweet potato fries.   The entire staff was great -- including back-of-the-house which I checked out first hand (cuz I'm a busybody).   Really nice.   Really good.   Don't judge a book by the cover and come in for the food.   I would recommend this place to anyone -- not just kosher; but great vegetarian choices.   I'm told they will deliver to the city and as far away as Buffalo Grove.   I may lure my niece and her new hubby and my nephew and his new wife with the promise of a meal from The Sandwich Club to get them to come visit me.    Very good.   I'll go back.   Thanks boychicks!

Food? Pretty good! The place? Decrepit, to a point I guess. It's kinda falling apart, the signs are dinky, but notably they make kosher food, which is a huge plus. Additionally, good kosher food, but expensive.

I suppose takeout/delivery is probably substantially better suited to their abilities.

From the great reviews I've read about this place in Skokie, I thought I'd give it a go.  The sandwich shop itself was small and clean, and there were a good handful of customers dining in.  I ordered the Corned Beef and the Turkey sandwiches to go; these come with a side of chips, coleslaw, and a pickle.  They messed up on our order the first time around; about 15 minutes later, our order was made and that was that.  The corned beef was dry, sliced in small pickle-diameter-sized; the coleslaw had a thick mayo dressing, and it was pretty good (but very small-portioned); asking for what I wanted on the sandwich (like mayo, ketchup, tomatoes, etc.) were all served on the side in packets - um, what?  The chips reminded me of an experiment of trying to get the Jay's Krunchers style, but went wrong.  Crispy, but no salt or any type of seasoning.  My bf had the turkey sandwich, and he said it was bland and plain - way far from raving about.  I might come back here for the coleslaw, but for the sandwiches, I would definitely not hesitate in NOT coming back.

I love the Sandwich Club. They have great cold cut sandwiches and soups. The salads are ok but not up my alley. I am more of a sandwich kind of guy.
The potato chips are homeade so when you taste them you are like "SCORE!" and know you will not enjoy bagged chips ever again.
Most of the sandwiches are very big and it is a little bit pricey but you have leftovers and the quality is worth it.
I did like the roast beef and the turkey is also very good. I don't care for corned beef as Matthew S did but my dad loves it.
If you have kids, they can always find a sandwich they will eat.
Give them a try and you will be in potato chip/sandwich happy land.

Sandwich Club is a no-frills counter-service place with a wide selection of cold and hot sandwiches, a few entree-size plates, soups and some salads.

The deli sandwiches are extremely generous. I have not been impressed with the roast beef (a bit dry and gristly) but otherwise the cold sandwiches are good; especially the turkey. If you haven't had kosher turkey breast, try it! The homemade chips outshine the fries, so even if you are getting a hot sandwich, you might want to substitute.

Burgers are so-so; they have a tendency to overcook them. The hotdog is not on par with the basic Chicago-style available at every stand in the area; last time I got one, they put ketchup on with the "everything"! The horror! Stick with the cold deli and the soups; that is what they know here.

The 1/2 sandwich/soup options is an especially good value. Matzah balls (for an extra $1) are homemade and quite respectable; they are not available every day.

Service is good, with a bit of that kosher "edge" -- with so few kosher places I often get the feeling these businesses feel they are doing US a favor by being here. That attitude seems slightly on display here, but not to an obnoxious level. The decor is minimal and seating can be tight.

Sandwich Club also supplies box lunches to the Loop Synagogue so downtown workers can have a kosher meal.

I work for a museum, where most of the people are kosher.

They deliver for all of our meetings, and make THE best sandwiches ever.

The corn beef sandwich is big enough for two lunches, and the potato chips? mmmmmmmmm. They are totally homemade, and super yum.

I suggest trying this place out - the quality is excellent, the taste is superb, and the portions are generous.

Don't be scared by the prices. Kosher food is always a bit more expensive!

Check them out next time your in Skokie!

A nice place to go for soups and sandwiches. They have lots of great options to choose from -- from lots of different soups, sandwiches and wraps. Its a kosher place and has very tasty sandwiches. But watch out for the hours -- its closed on Saturdays and closes right after lunch on Fridays.
