I honestly think Santullo's has some of the better pizza in Chicago, but this may just be because I'm from New York and generally like that style pizza better than the typically thicker Chicago Variety.
Great selection of large, single slices and open late. Â I can't remember the specifics of the early bird special, but I know it's for customers who come in before 5. Â
I would imagine the bad reviews are coming from both sides. The haughty New Yorkers (full disclosure: I'm from NY) who refuse to acknowledge that decent pizza can be found anywhere outside of their city, and impertinent Chicagoans who don't take kindly to the likes of Santullo's sullying the Chicago pizza landscape with its East Coast thickness. Â Though it's not the best NY style pizza I've ever had, it's easily the best I've had in Chicago.
