My husband, myself, & some friends went in last Wednesday evening around 6:30pm. I could not wait to try this place - we are HUGE fans of Cajun/New Orleans style food.
Casual atmosphere. Mardi-gras beads hanging from the pipes for decor, a guitar hero guitar hanging from the wall. The front door was a bit broken, so flies were a bit abundant this evening.
Food: crab cakes..my girl friend said - great! My chicken jambalaya a bit tasteless, so I added hot sauce. Seemed as if it was made up beforehand and heated back up in the microwave. The men had Seafood Creole Italiano. The shrimp were not deveined, and it was SO terribly fishy tasting that it was overwhelming. (Not fresh fishy tasting).
Soda was served by the can with an ice glass.
Be sure to take cash with you, they didn't take our debit card.
They did cook chicken nuggets & fries for the little one - appreciated that.
The guy server was very friendly. The waitress was NOT...didn't crack 1 smile.

I can only speak for lunch and it was pretty good.
Had the Fried Crawfish Tails and they were great , loved the Remoulade too. Nicely fried and and that sauce was a perfect touch. I ate the whole basket without even thinking about it. I could eat one right now whilst I'm typing this.
Had the cuban pork sandwich as well and totally enjoyed it as well.
Sampled the red beans and rice and while its not my fav I liked it.
Friend got the house salad with chicken and said it was good.
Staff and kitchen are well seasoned , there should never be an issue concerning service.
Rumor has it an oyster bar will be added at some point. Can't wait for that....

NOTE:  Michael closed this location in order to open down town.  It seems to be taking a little longer than planned but I anxiously await their new location.

A new offering from Michael Taylor who used to be at the long-suffering Tuscany on the west side.  The menu is Cajun and/or New Orleans cuisine.  Their current location used to be a diner that was too much of a dive for us to ever try.  The neighborhood is iffy even in the daylight.  Doesn't really seem like an ideal location for an upscale restaurant, does it?

We went there for dinner and had a fabulous meal.  We started with the salad and both opted for their Cajun-influenced dressings instead of ranch and french - good decision!  Everything on the plate was exceptionally fresh and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe.

Next up were the crab cakes.  They were moist and succulent - creamy, even.  I have had a lot of crab cakes in a lot of places which are known for crab cakes and these ranked right up there with the best I've ever eaten.

Our entrees were red beans and rice and bacon-wrapped shrimp with cheesy grits.  The beans and rice was not a favorite but my wife and I almost came to blows over the shrimp dish.  Big, succulent shrimp cooked to perfection (a rarity in a town where everyone's favorite foods are fried and anything from the sea is waaay overcooked).  The bacon was a little crispy but not overdone.  The cheesy grits were tender and flavorful.

This place has only been open about 6 weeks but seems to be off to a great start.  Looking forward to seeing how it grows!
