My favorite go-to place in Baton Rouge. It's always busy after football games, but I prefer to go in on other nights and just enjoy the interesting conversations that always pop up around the bar.
Perfect dive atmosphere complete with a leaning pool table, loud-ass jukebox, and old trophies of drunken escapades on the walls.
Good selection of bottled beers and spirits at really great prices.
I've heard this place is packed after football games, but I have yet to see more than 4 patrons in here whenever I go. That's fine by me when I'm trying to step away from the loudness of Northgate right next door. Very dark inside! Grungy with scratched up squishy round booths. Stuff hanging all over the ceiling. Visually interesting. I love to look at all that stuff... Past memorabilia, etc.
Review Source:I love slinkys!
hole in the wall and seems to be the go-to place after football games for my group of friends... the mind erasers are serious business. I think last time we went here we did the conga line with MS. BATON ROUGE (this was after our photo op)... also my boyfs roomie came home around 5 am with a torn shirt and a shoeless girlfriend... we ended up finding the heels outside of mellow mushroom. go figure.
Love this little jukebox joint. And by little, I mean, little. A bar, three tables, two booths and a pool table. But most nights, that's all I need.
This bar, unlike most in BR, is 21 and up. For those of you not from Louisiana, our rules are a bit different. In most places you can get into a bar if you are 18 but you aren't allowed to drink. Sometimes your older friends buy you drinks and sometimes those drinks get taken away. C'est la vie.
Overall, a great place to hang on a week night! Oh, and have 'em make you the signature "Lunchbox"!
