Mahi Mahi sand-o is the best I have ever had.  Actually, all of the seafood was spectacular!  I wish I was not just driving past this joint & lived closer!

Update time...1st time in since the last time...stopped in with my niece after we left the Battle on the Bayou track meet hosted by LSU on 4/13/13....

It was pretty well packed at 3ish in the afternoon but we were seated immediately in the bar area and had prompt and friendly service...

Started with an appetizer of "Angels on Horseback"...shrimp with a oyster wrapped around it and a bacon strip around both then deep fried....YUM! Damn tasty stuff...an order of those with a salad would make for a light and filling meal...

My niece went with the Cajundillas...a quesadilla stuffed with chicken, andouille sausage and boudin...sounds good but the niece was NOT impressed! She said the combination of filling did not go well together...she blamed it on the chicken as she loves boudin and andouille...so if you're feeling adventurous maybe give it a try...I never will cause I don't care for boudin....

I went with the Hangover burger...Muy delicioso...that sunny side up egg and crisp bacon just makes the burger....I enjoyed it at the Walk On's in NOLA and damn sure enjoyed it here at the LSU location....the only drawback to it is too much bun and by that I mean it's too thick and fluffy...a slimmer bun would vault this burger into the pantheon of all time best burgers....

If you find yourself over near Alex Box Stadium or Burbank Drive close to LSU stop on in and satisfy your hunger they'll have something on the menu to fill you up....

I would give zero stars if I could. I came with my partner and a male gay couple. We ordered seafood platters and two beer pitchers. Literally, about two minutes after our food came out, the waitress came up and told us we would have to leave because they were closing up. This whole "closing up" thing hadn't been mentioned before this moment. I asked why a table full of people (who appeared to Greek-affiliated college students) weren't being asked to leave. They just repeated we needed to leave. I asked them why they would serve us pitchers of beer and fresh fried seafood, then ask us to leave before we can eat it? Again, we were asked to leave. This was beyond annoying. If you don't want us to eat there, fine. Just don't take our money then kick us out. Btw, we were all conservatively-dressed, young professionals. We weren't singing showtunes, or making eyes at the staff, or anything else objectionable. The only clue we were gay would be our booth seating arrangement and perhaps subtle body language. We are all polite and had been respectful of the waitstaff. As we left, we could see the table full of college students laughing and enjoying their food. Forget these guys- it's not worth it for mediocre food. The brie soup lacks flavor. The fried seasoning is bland, and the angels on horseback taste frozen. For cheaper beer, check out the North Gate area. For a better selection of beer, try The always-friendly Chimes. For tasty Louisiana cuisine at the same price point, try Chimes, Brew-Bachers, Jasmine's on the Bayou, or Chelseas. For a better bar scene, try Ivar's, Duvic's, Chelsea's, or anywhere downtown.
